06:35It's been an up-and-down year and a revolving door for the Jets' defensive backfield,
06:41and this Patriots offense was able to throw a few times and run the ball effectively.
06:46You see Chris Harris, the interim defensive coordinator and former All-Pro defensive back,
06:50trying to coach up Stevens and Stiggers, guys who have had to step into big roles this season.
06:55Stevens all year, and Stiggers really since that Sauce Gardner trade.
06:59There's a young secondary that the young quarterback, Drake May, was attacking.
07:08This is going to be important for the Jets today.
07:10Patriots at times have struggled in kick coverage,
07:14and Kanae Wong-woo is one of the best in the game.
07:17He's got five kickoff return touchdowns in his career,
07:19including one against New England three years ago.
07:23This time the Patriots bottom up, shy of the league average marker at the 30.
07:27They tackle him at the 29-yard line.
07:30So that's where Brady Cook, undrafted free agent, will start his third career.

07:40Yeah, I think what he's going to learn as a young quarterback in this league
07:43is that you have to avoid the negative plays and be a problem solver as much as you can.

08:31and a guy they're really going to have to lean on today.
08:34It's been a healthy year for Hall.
08:36That's a key.
08:37Cook floats it down the side for Adonai Mitchell.
08:40Good coverage from the all-pro Christian Gonzalez,
08:43who was just named to his first Pro Bowl this year
08:47after an all-pro season last year.
08:50But they're missing their sacks and tackles leaders
08:53in Harold Landry and Robert Spillane.
08:56And it's Zach Kerr who's been calling the plays all year
08:58on defense for New England.

09:03Probably their leading, you know, run defenseman
09:06at the nose guard position.
09:08And so I imagine they're going to really try to sell out

09:12which could open up some opportunities on the perimeter

11:16and that would make them proud.
11:17And so far, that's exactly what they've done.
11:21Drake May's got a man in the middle of the field.
11:24Kyle Williams had a huge touchdown last week
11:26against Baltimore.
11:27He's had a few in the last couple of months.
11:30He gets a first down with an 11-yard gain
11:32for Vrabel and company.
11:33They just look so efficient and so in rhythm.
11:35What I find interesting, too,
11:37is even from drive to drive,
11:38just the way that Josh McDaniels
11:40can be so creative with this offense.
11:41The first drive, it was four plays of Jumbo,
11:45you know, 32 yards and a touchdown,
11:47running the football, the touchdown pass.
11:49And these first two plays have been
11:51actually out of nickel personnel,
11:52and here they go.
11:53They're back to Jumbo.
11:56Thayer Munford in there,
11:57basically operating as an extra tight end.
12:00Jamie and Sherwood's one of the best tacklers
12:02in the game, and he stops Travion Henderson
12:04after a two-yard gain.
12:07Sherwood, top eight in the NFL in tackles.
12:09He's been one of the best in the game
12:11the last couple of years.
12:12I've been really impressed
12:13with their linebackers on film,
12:14both Sherwood and Quincy Williams.
12:17They're both extremely active.
12:18It feels like they make just about every tackle.
12:21You can tell they're very well coached.
12:22They key to diagnose well,
12:24and they're pretty explosive
12:25once they get to the ball,
12:27always trying to punch out
12:28and create turnovers.
12:31Motion into empty again,
12:32so we've seen a couple of these empty sets.
12:34We saw a couple last week
12:35against Baltimore as well for the Patriots.
12:37Extra body for the Jets coming,
12:41and it got rid of it,
12:42did May.

12:45There goes Efton Chisholm,

12:50The undrafted free agent,
12:51rookie out of Eastern Washington,
