Taking cricket Australia as an example, there was a vision where they wanted it to be Australia's favorite sport, however the argument is, how can it be Australia's favorite sport if it's not a sport for all Australians.
Being in a multicultural workforce, a multicultural global sport, you need to look and think in that manner, so you can actually be credible and can grow in this very competitive environment where people are fighting for everyone's attention. Therefore, you can be the one that supports diversity and inclusion which will be the sport for all Australians. Diversity and inclusion makes way for a huge competitive advantage in participation. Who attends the matches and how people perceive you as an employer would make a immense difference. Once you start linking diversity and inclusion to all those strategic pillars you strive to achieve; it is very simple for a CEO and the board to see the connections.
