01:10Here's Scott Walker
01:14There are two fouls on the play
01:15Holding offense number 45
01:18Personal foul face mask
01:21Defense these fouls off set
01:23First half
01:25Rivaldo Fairweather the Cardinals
01:27tight end on the Arizona side
01:31At the floor and Green Bay Packers
01:36guess where they open up at the
01:38Minnesota Vikings week one huge
01:41Jonathan Gannon the defensive
01:42coordinator against Vikings
01:43quarterback Kyla Murray right out
01:46of the gate don't think the NFL
01:48schedule makers didn't see that as a
01:51nice storyline Trey Stewart first
01:54down play fake slow miss in the
01:57pocket going down the middle it is
02:00broken up Amir Smith Marset with a
02:03leaping attempt at that one how
02:06Tyler Algier I tell you what he puts the
02:09punch in the one-two punch and he's
02:11to combine with Jeremiah love our new
02:14face is sponsored by your Valley GMC
02:16dealers he was a thousand yard rusher
02:18as a rookie a fifth rounder by Atlanta
02:21out of BYU where he also played some
02:23inside linebacker and as a pro knock on
02:27wood he has no fumbles 678 rushing
02:31attempts zero fumbles as a
02:33professional probably people don't want
02:34to hit him how big he is so he puts
02:35the battering and ram and battering
02:37ram Trey Stewart here he's going
02:39straight ahead lowering the plow
02:42spinning out of a tackle about the 32
02:45yard line to bring up third down and a
02:48long three maybe four I got a chance
02:51to run in a tower out here it's the
02:53second preseason game at the team
02:55hotel and he's he's a thick physical
02:59running back which is different than
03:01Jeremiah love Jeremiah love more
03:03smooth more he'll run around you run
03:05through you Tyler Algier wants to run
03:07you over as a defender as a corner you
03:09don't want that a safety for the most
03:10part you don't want that third down
03:13and three I asked him right after he
03:15signed in the offseason are you
03:16underrated he gave me a definitive
03:18yes he's slowest to the far side
03:21Reggie Virgil with his first catch he
03:23has a first down he spun out about his
03:25clock still rolling but Algier in his
03:33career one of the NFL's leaders in
03:37this tackles force I tell you Reggie
03:39Virgil has been a tough tackle as
03:41well this preseason he comes out and
03:43he'll fight you as a receiver look
03:47if they're not running the wide zone
03:48they're going to come between the
03:49tackles with duo and I think we're
03:51going to see a little bit everything
03:52in this off and that's the kind of
03:54back that you want 510 225 he can hit
03:57it downhill and that duo play no back
03:59power but also can be a one cut back
04:01as well first intent slow the skin
04:04and it's tipped knocked around and
04:06hits the turf Rivaldo Fairweather was
04:09the intended target it should have and
04:12could have been an interception on the
04:14Green Bay side of things TJ Quinn had
04:17to go through his hands and I feel so
04:18bad for TJ Quinn right now I've been
04:20so I've played in Lambeau Field they're
04:21the ball that's been tipped up in the
04:23air that I dropped on Lambeau Field I
04:25think about it with a Thursday night
04:26game I was devastated it was right
04:27there great job with the tip and Quinn
04:30is like oh man I'm about to go be a
04:31superhero oh no off the face mask hey
04:34that's why he plays defense I hate that
04:35saying but hey it is what it is
04:39all right about second down after the
04:42incompletion much of the Cardinals
04:43benefit the run outside Trey Stewart flag
04:46flies in the backfield another one looks
04:48looks like this one is coming back it's
04:51the vicinity of holding
05:04so Rivaldo Fairweather it's been a
05:06problem the last two games on a
05:08single possession in the red zone a
05:11week ago two different Cardinals
05:12touchdowns were wiped off the board
05:14by penalties from number 45 see some of
05:17the difference in efficiency from the
05:19first two drives with with some of the
05:22twos maybe and now it's going to some of
05:24the threes still trying to say okay you
05:27still this pressure of trying to do your
05:28job but trying to get it right sometimes
05:30that pressure you get some of these
05:31penalties
05:33so now the Cardinals behind the stick
05:35second down and 20 just over five
05:39minutes to go in the first half
05:40underneath the whole guys to go through
05:42his hands and nearly picked off
05:45Sidney was looking to run before he
05:47insecure the football
05:49yeah Cardinals fortunate once again
05:51that was another interception
05:52the defender on the inside there's
05:55another better as well he didn't look
05:57the ball in he tried to make a move
05:58before he got the ball and watch his
06:00eyes right there he's looking but he
06:02got to catch it first come on man oh he
06:06had it for a quick moment third down and
06:1420 see what Mike LaFleur has in mind
06:17here head coach and play caller
06:22slowness four man rush to draw hall
06:25searching and running off the right
06:28side that'll do it here comes the
06:30Cardinals punt team I'm going to be
06:33the Cardinals first punt attempt in
06:35the game and with Blake Gilligan
06:37nursing a groin injury expected to be
06:41ready for week one Jack Browning has
06:44been signed most recently the UFL
06:46played for Orlando yeah the Orlando
06:49storm now I got a chance to call a
06:50couple of his games last season the
06:51UFL he was one of the leading
06:53punters in the UFL he special teams
06:55coach said that he should have been
06:57the guy who won you know not MVP
06:59most valuable punter but specialist of
07:02the year but he came out later in the
07:03year he's been good you know what
07:05the most valuable punter I think Danny
07:07likes that too because you know my
07:09affinity for cutting is rubbing off
07:11on her real shepherd he splits
07:13defenders he's up the seam and down
07:15the sideline far side and no one will
07:19catch him he is gone
07:26and he got lost beyond the Cardinals punt
07:28coverage 80 yards on the return to
07:34pay her to doctor good so if you're a
07:43little bit too good what do I mean by
07:45that you that's called out kicking your
07:46coverage so when you sometimes like
07:50man I booted the ball 50 yards 60 yards
07:51well kick the coverage part one part
07:53two see those two wide lanes just
07:55parting like people say like the Red Sea
07:57all of those Cardinals defenders the
07:59Red Sea they're at one level you need to
08:02be at different levels sometimes on the
08:03punt team that way if somebody misses at
08:05one level you overlap on the next level
08:07but if you're all running at this on the
08:09the same plane one missed tackle can equal
08:11the engine Red Sea definitely parted
08:14right there extra point is up and it
08:18is good officially 81 yards on the
08:21will shepherd punt return touchdown
08:23and Green Bay now with a seven point
08:25lead once again it's finding those
08:32performers on special teams especially
08:35in the final preseason game because as
08:38GM money on support has said repeatedly
08:40you get to the back end of the
08:42cornerback room the safeties linebackers
08:45running backs you better be versatile
08:47you better excel on special teams and I
08:50don't care what any coach says special
08:51teams the huge phase of the game
08:53specifically the punting that's the
08:55biggest change in field position in
08:58football you can have a 60-yard quote
09:00unquote gain of a 60-yard punter 70
09:02yard punch or in a case like this it
09:04swings 60 yards one way then 80 yards
09:07the next way so special teams matters
09:10I don't care how much you try to
09:12de-emphasize it
09:13that's the LA Rams Rams were the
09:16opinion last year they should have been
09:17Super champions if not for the
09:19world full special teams correct
09:21Seattle in the playoffs had a punt
09:22return or kickoff return touchdown
09:24and start one of the playoff games so
09:25it's the biggest momentum shift of the
09:27game I understand you can be an
09:28offensive focused or defensive focused
09:30coach but teams wins
09:33Packers get the kick away
09:35Green Bay team lost its last five games
09:39did not win a game after Micah Parsons
09:41went down in mid-December
09:42let's go down to Danny Surek on the
09:44sideline this is your report sponsored by
09:47fries food stores you're talking about
09:49special teams special teams coordinator
09:51Michael Berger told me that he's looking
09:53for fatigue from the players at this
09:55point in the preseason because the
09:57players on special teams the regular
09:58season are getting more reps now on
10:01offense and defense and so this is where
10:03he can tell the players who really want
10:05it and this is where their talent is
10:08truly undeniable and how hard they've
10:10worked this is the true test for mental
10:12toughness conditioning and technique at
10:15this point in the preseason you're making
10:17such a great point Danny remember 40
10:18players aren't dressed so that means
10:20that a 50 90 90 man roster about 50 or so
10:24guys are playing well you're playing all
10:26the snaps on offense all the snaps on
10:28defense and all the snaps on special
10:29teams you'll be tired we have to be
10:31conditioned and ready for these moments
10:33still this under center play fake time to
10:37throw check down in space trying to get
10:40outside does across the 45 trying to get
10:42out of bounds does not clock ticking under
10:45four minutes to go in the first half gain
10:47of 11 on the catch and run you want to
10:49take your time in Arizona offensively
10:51it's the end of the half you don't want
10:52to give the Packers you have a chance
10:53to get the ball but a lot take your
10:56time run some clock off you get first
10:59downs and then ideally you want to end
11:02this half with a touchdown and not give
11:05it back to your team the running back
11:09has played in eight games the past three
11:10years New Orleans Indianapolis he has
11:14the NFL regular season experience throw
11:16to the flat caught on the run fair
11:18weather again the clock is running
11:24a whole lot of experience I love how
11:27sometimes his moves are very subtle
11:28right like he's trying to find where's
11:30the open space so it might be a little
11:33shift to the left or a jump cut to the
11:35right but we're seeing him pass the ball
11:37in the backfield and then when he's
11:39the first to make a play he makes the
11:46play here we go slow this on the
11:48center to be an engineer another
11:53scoring drive ball up the middle
11:55and once again nice hold in the
11:57second level he's torn down past
11:59the forty five in the forty four
12:01yard line the score was offensive
12:06wise nice surge running backs at
12:10and getting through the point of
12:11attack virtually untouched with
12:13regularity but it's your point you
12:16made earlier called the receivers in
12:17the running game as well they're
12:19blocking one of the receivers on that
12:20last play slid inserted inside the
12:23C gap or the B gap and helped out the
12:26interior all right fresh set it out
12:29it's first down and ten forty three
12:31of Green Bay slow this out of the gun
12:34inside and off Hall angling off the
12:36right side he's buried drop near the
12:38line of scrimmage all right the Lambeau
12:44faithful making a lot of noise keep
12:46slow set to cover up the ear holes
12:48just to hear the play call or come
12:50back right after the two-minute warning
13:15and that's our rookie spotlight sponsored
13:18by Hyundai crowd partner of the arizona
13:20Cardinals Reggie Virgil got a shout out from
13:23one of the guys who really admires
13:24Kirk Cousins for a one-handed catch in
13:26that game against the Raiders speaking
13:28of catch oh boy catch and he got crunched
13:32Trey Wallace out near the 40 or mine
13:34well you know I'm my favorite person to
13:36beat my fanboy over I've been right here for
13:39once James scratch former receiver for the
13:43Philadelphia Eagles he was kind of this
13:45under-the-radar guy I played with them on
13:47the video game you could have given me a
13:51million guesses I went out of yes James
13:54thrash yeah man now does that get Reggie
13:56Virgil fine by the veterans you know he
13:58geeks out over a fellow player as the
14:00throw to the first sunlight speaking of
14:02Virgil how about that nope can't corral it
14:05now that might get Reggie Virgil fine that
14:07might get him fine and only because they
14:09know what he's capable of I mean he's a big
14:11play receiver even at his time at Texas Tech
14:13was making big play after big play all
14:15the way down the field has a receiver
14:18beat a solid job solid job by number 38
14:23Jalen Simpson Jalen Simpson but you got to
14:26be strong and finish that by Reggie
14:29Virgil so credit to the defense but I'm
14:31sure going to never see for Arizona
14:32Sandman you can make that play young
14:34young but don't make it
14:37you're looking at fourth down at seven
14:45and here comes the punt team yeah Reggie
14:49Virgil look that was a tough catch
14:53nice play by the corner to get his arm
14:55and hand in there to separate his
14:57hands from the ball but I tell you
15:00he's made a lot of plays throughout
15:03camp in the joint practice will
15:24get a little preview of the fourth
15:30quarter of the final preseason game
15:31affectionately known as the witching
15:33hours just a little foreshadowing here
15:36Sam for you mentally prepare yourself
15:38already man people sleep on that
15:40penalty was designed they wanted more
15:42space so a lot of stuff is my design
15:46what do you think you think Michael the
15:47fool is looking across the field at his
15:48brother Matt will smile there
15:52acknowledging that it's called strategy
15:55a stop by the Arizona Ford dealers

16:09we saw earlier here at Lambeau over
16:1280 thousand seats just the legendary
16:17venue there's so much more than just
16:19the stadium the museum practice facility
16:23of course we had a chance pregame to
16:25talk to partners owner Michael Bidwell
16:27about the brand new under construction
16:29dignity health Arizona Cardinals
16:31Performance Center which is two
16:34minus two years away summer at 2028
16:37to the air far side and that is
16:40incomplete nice job star thomas getting
16:43over there to separate drake dabney
16:45from the football excited to see when
16:49that facility is built that chance to
16:52chat with Michael Bidwell owner of the
16:55team and chat with him on camera but
16:57also off-camera there's a lot of
16:59confidence that he has that that's
17:01going to be a huge help not just for
17:03the current players in the partners
17:05but the future partners
17:06yeah stay there look at that one
17:07knock down Elliott Brown gets the big
17:10paw up there for an incomplete pass
17:13well done to bat that one out of the
17:15way so we'll say we know how
17:17competitive it is to go out the three
17:18agents for example how big a deal is the
17:21facility are the accommodations they
17:23are they're a piece of the pie not the
17:25whole pie the other piece is what are
17:27you going to live in the offseason a
17:28lot of the players live in phoenix and
17:30scottsdale in the offseason so you
17:31might say you know what i could live
17:33here in the offseason not to move my
17:35family now the paycheck does matter as
17:37well the facilities are p17 third down
17:40and ten just over a minute to go in the
17:42first half out of his own end zone the
17:44board throws on a crosser a nice tackle
17:47in space over there as a newcomer for
17:52eugene asante making that tackle
17:55yeah he's the guy's trying to make a name
17:57for himself played the ufl not too long
17:59ago and look at him just sees the play
18:02coming keeps his eyes on his work
18:04played at auburn with one of the team
18:06captains team leaders there and got
18:08signed here not too long ago about a
18:10little over a week ago for the last
18:11preseason game and making his mark
18:15look it's the fight for 53 but there's
18:18the practice squad 17 more spots
18:22michael before told us that he told the
18:25team in the last 24 hours this is the
18:28last time we will be 90 and he's trying
18:31to drive the message home hey uh one
18:33last chance at one last impression
18:35yeah i got a chance to chat with money
18:37off and forth the general manager of
18:38the team right before he kick off and
18:40even he was saying how difficult of a
18:42time this is not just for the players
18:44but also for him he's going to be a
18:46part of every single conversation when
18:47it comes to who's on and he's not on
18:49the team so it means a lot to the
18:51players Russell to the staff as well
18:53as well Daniel Wheeling gets away the
18:55punt taken by Smith Marcet looking
18:58for room but he is dropped this past
19:00the thirty five yard line yeah our
19:03understanding is with the cuts on
19:07Sunday a little earlier on the NFL
19:09calendar this year and the money
19:12on support Mike Lafford will be
19:14meeting with those players and
19:15having that conversation and I mean
19:18Sam you've been on both ends of
19:19that conversation have you not I have
19:21and it's uh it's definitely nerve
19:23wracking these last couple quarters
19:26of football because they may be your
19:28last quarters of football ever and
19:30also these last couple hours because
19:32you're wondering will I make the team
19:33will I not if I get cut to will
19:35someone sign me will I have to play
19:36against there's so much that goes into
19:38this slowness goes down and getting into
19:42the backfield and making that play is
19:45Anthony Campbell with the sack
19:49Campbell on the inside denied Dennis
19:51Sutton again number 51 on the outside
19:54that's that pass rush that you've been
19:55excited about but also that's a test
19:57for some of the players on this
19:58Arizona Cardinals offensive line
20:00trying to show that they're worthy of a
20:01practice squad spot or active or practice
20:04spot for a different team slowness get on
20:08got up a little slowly took a big hit
20:11on the interception earlier in this
20:13game the loss of seven have you ever
20:20wondered what it would be like to
20:21get sacked tell you I've had a few
20:25close calls more than two decades
20:26at the sideline where guys have come
20:29screaming and you know I had to I
20:31had to shove a doctor team doctor
20:33out of the way just to make sure that
20:34I wasn't on the receiving end so
20:38that's something I'm glad I never
20:39found out Sam I mean we can arrange
20:41it well truth be told trey wall is
20:45trying to spit out of a tackle
20:46doesn't do it remember big deuce latui
20:49and I do yes big 400 pounder yep big
20:52man with me he used to say half
20:54jokingly he'd look at paulie
20:56pencil neck and he'd say I use guys
20:58like you to break my fall
21:01yeah I was sure to stay out of his way
21:03when he was a pulling gun look at that
21:05wide open on the far sideline
21:06kamir smith marset gets out with 19
21:10seconds to go in the half
21:13so I played with deuce latui he was a
21:15legit six five a legit 400 pounds oh yeah
21:18nice especially in the offseason oh yeah
21:21but look at smith marset you see that
21:22look at him leave the db in a in a
21:24turn the turn cycle that's that route
21:26running fake record running the post to
21:28the inside go back to the outside and
21:30there you see number 38 jaylen simpsons
21:32still trying to find out where he is on the
21:34field
21:44in the field so we saw a 69 yard field
22:02goal by harrison bunker in kansas city
22:06in this preseason sam the nfl regular
22:09season record is 68 you think we're
22:13going to see a 70 yard field goal
22:16this regular season i do i do and part
22:18of the reason is they've made some
22:20changes to the kicking balls and so
22:21now all of a sudden you're seeing
22:22longer field goals over this last year
22:25or so and so that's part of the
22:26reason i think we'll see long field
22:28goals this year all right 13 seconds
22:30slowness to the air far side trying to
22:32get into his man he does out of bounds
22:35it's reggie virgil
22:39gardeners trying to put themselves in
22:41position after a game at 13 for at least a
22:43field goal try
22:45reggie virgil he knows there's off
22:48coverage
22:49so he beats simpson again and i say
22:51takes the kicking ball court change the
22:52way to the process in which the kickers
22:54get a chance to use their footballs and so
22:57i think we'll see we saw this last
22:59season long field goals now we're
23:01obviously with a lot closer range but i
23:02think we'll see a 70 yard
23:03nine seconds to go two receivers either
23:06side
23:07and slowest to the air
23:09looking throwing down the middle caught
23:12inside the 10 cardinals going to
23:14exercise a timeout fairweather
23:17making a leaping catch
23:19for a gain of 20. a little bit frustrating
23:22because on that a play like that nine
23:23seconds you want to get it into the end
23:25zone nice play but you're still in field
23:27goal range you see fairweather making the
23:28grab and so
23:30a play like that ideally you want to try
23:33and get into the end zone because you
23:34already feel like you have your field goal
23:36you're at the 25 30 yard line still a
23:38nice play either way that probably
23:41explains the smile by michael for like
23:43okay great play but yes yeah because
23:46in real football you're thinking all
23:47right i got my field goal i got nine
23:49seconds that's really time for two
23:50plays i got to get the ball into the
23:52end zone now if you get another 15
23:55yards okay it's a shorter field goal
23:56more like an extra point so it's solid
23:59it's good it could be better here comes
24:27it's good and it is good and the
24:33cardinals trip the deficit to four 24 20
24:38as that pump returned for touchdown 81
24:40yards by the green bay packers a
24:42difference gardener mitchu very sharp
24:44in this game seven and nine 126 and a
24:47touchdown pass for the cardinals qb2
24:50there it is his walk-off play of the
24:52preseason 41-yard strike to simi fei
24:55hoko and then emmon hall rips off the
24:58chunk touchdown run and it's 24 20 green
25:01bay in the lead at the half
25:07all right welcome back to lambeau and
25:09downtown we go downstairs to danny
25:12serek with the head coach
25:15mike words with your brother mac coming
25:17back out for the second half what'd you
25:18say to him
25:19just said it's our half better be ready
25:21to roll what are you looking for from
25:24players and their final opportunity to
25:25make a push it's just to have fun you
25:27know i mean they're out here it's lambeau
25:28field it's friday night they're having
25:30fun
25:30uh you know i think the phases are all
25:33playing well we obviously got to let up
25:34the special teams defensively they
25:36really had that only one drive then
25:38offensively obviously doing a great job
25:39matt shop's calling it tonight he's
25:41killing it
25:43and we wondered about that because there
25:45were different times where the offense was
25:48operating and mike lafleur was going up and
25:50down the sidelines so there you go matt
25:52shop a long time quarterback in the nfo 17
25:55years man has been to a full bowl as a
25:58player and there he is with a laminated play sheet in his hand and i love the
26:01opportunity for an assistant coach to call
26:04plays even if it's in the preseason because
26:07you never get that chance even if you're
26:09sometimes you have these interim head coach
26:11situations i've just got a chance
26:12to be a head coach or an opportunity to call
26:14plays preseason regular season
26:16you cannot fake those reps so it's exciting
26:19for matt shop to see what he would do
26:20in those situations
26:23all right so we have multiple sets of
26:26brothers here there you go
26:28that's at half as the two brother seven years
26:33older as matt and mike and uh just been a great week
26:37our team captains were bow and max melton
26:41only missing is is is your brother emmanuel
26:44actually that's all that's missing well it's sad because i've been here in
26:46green bay he's at home he's in dallas where my people are at
26:49and i was about time i landed down so i'll miss him but
26:52that was so good whether it's from the four brothers even bow and max melton
26:55one of my first games the first game i ever announced
26:58was a rutgers at purdue game and both of them were on that team
27:01and so to see them go from that in 2020 or 2021
27:06now to playing in the nfl playing against each other i got a chance to
27:09play against my brother even play with my brother there's nothing
27:11better than brothers going together in unity
27:15and i love the parents the photo op after the joint practice was priceless
27:19the leflore family and i love the quote from father leflore said
27:25it's surreal but they earned it and how great is that to hear from your father
27:31sometimes people like oh you got this job because of your last name it's like no
27:34dude my dad believes i earned it that means a lot
27:37and of course the father and mother had plenty to do with that their upbringing when
27:41he was a coach in central michigan and small midland michigan and so
27:47no surprise the malapour has been a great fit here in green bay
27:51and the parents have moved out here's our rookie spot challenge they have thrown his way
27:55he has proven himself to the point where he got a few series and they
27:59he's declared him regular season ready at this point trey stewart out of the backfield puts
28:04his foot to the ground goes north for a gain to nine to catch a run from keith slogans
28:08what's also interesting is that jayden just playing the left side he's also playing the right side
28:13that position flexibility it's not easy to be able to play both left and right tackle
28:19different footwork different technique now he's done both in all of the first three preseason games
28:24so he feels like though he hasn't gone against the michael parsons of the world per se
28:29he feels like he's ready or they feel like he'll be ready when that time comes
28:33to the next two years coaches believe you know what they are set a tackle right now is the
28:39takedown near the line of scrimmage point of attack we have penetration there nigel lee kelly
28:45coming in taking down the cardinals running back actually market is a loss of three between harris johnson
28:52jr a franchise left tackle elijah wilkinson who started all 17 games at right tackle for atlanta last
28:58year and has picked up where he left off for the cardinals they like his film so far and then
29:04jayden
29:05williams the seventh round rookie in particular they feel pretty good if he's bidding to be the swing tackle
29:12third down and five first possession of the second half slow the short set throws underneath he's got
29:18fair weather and he's got room to run shedding tacklers stiff arm at the 40 and he's just rolling
29:24inside the 30 taking defenders with him he gets up and celebrates love the awareness by fairweather third
29:32and short you see the safety so far off for you so you turn around people say get friendly to
29:36the
29:37quarterback then all you have to do is make one man miss it's a six man pressure one person miss
29:41all
29:41of a sudden you get your first down poor effort on the tackling side of the ball by flew ellen
29:45the safety
29:46but better job by the offense 34 yard game slowness to the air near sideline caught fairweather again
29:55this time he's in bounds and again the cardinals cardinals passing game it's decisive quarterbacks
30:05all four quarterbacks have known exactly where to go with the ball most of the time and there's no
30:10hesitation now part of it too is defensively it is more vanilla uh in the preseason though we did
30:17just see that blitz but the reason why sometimes you want to be more vanilla is you blitz and all
30:20of a sudden your busted coverage leads to a big place you got to take advantage of what you see
30:25offensively all right second down today
30:31cardinals and again to trey stewart off tackle right tries to squeeze between two defenders upended and
30:38he dropped at the 19 yard line and jade devonshire jr on the tackle for green bay yeah it's a
30:47great
30:48keen slowness you look at his numbers 12 and 19 134 and the pick when he had to pass rusher
30:54right in
30:55his face you know i know for rookie receivers coming in they'll have struggles with all the disguise
31:02coverages at the nfl level and so sometimes the preseason could be a false positive and some of the
31:09offensive players in particular
31:12second down and short to the air going for it all into the end zone incomplete going for reggie virgil
31:19not pointed up here underneath it didn't have a chance to make a play jalen six and strive for stride
31:26i love the point you made about it being a false positive because
31:29not only are you not going against some of the the complicated coverages but you're also not going
31:34to get some of the better corners or better linemen or better receivers it's the difference between
31:41example michael parsons and joshua versus the fifth or sixth edge rusher
31:48all right fourth down and two partners keep the offense on the field
31:52see what they have in mind match job the play call according to mike before
31:57what does he dial up slowness to the air underneath he's got the first down
32:02nice strike on a quick out over there reggie virgil
32:11bit of a flop at the very end yeah third fourth and short you got to be tighter in coverage
32:17i get it's the
32:17preseason but mj devin's trying number 28 there's a piece of understanding down and distance fourth
32:23and two they need two yards that'd be a little bit tighter in a play like that
32:29right and again just receiver after receiver continues to make plays
32:34first down at 10 near the 15 trey stewart
32:37off the right side he's swallowed up
32:41it's semi fair hoko a 41 yard touchdown catch from gardner minchu we've seen reggie virgil with
32:46acrobatic one handed grabs in previous games jaylen brooks has been the most productive
32:52partners receiver in the preseason i mean there's a lot of guys here you know devic duvernay who's
32:59not dressed tonight is your primary return man he's in the receiver room
33:04so do you keep an extra receiver and then
33:07without a tip right then maybe you keep one fewer tight end
33:12and or do you find room out of the running back spot here's trey stewart trying to cut it back
33:19he has met past the 10 yard line takes a long
33:24those are the it's like the interesting part about
33:29this time of the year certain players haven't made for lack of better terms making the team other
33:36players are trying to make it other players know that this is the end of the road
33:42and so you're almost in these different stratospheres
33:46as a football player but still trying to go out and give your best effort
34:11and then if you're on the ball if you're at the very end of that fifty three you have to
34:19wonder
34:20the player comes available via waivers from another team the cardinals are third in the pecking order
34:27and so if there is an attractive player at a position of need all of a sudden guess what
34:32you thought you made it yep you didn't
34:38they tell a lot of those rookies at the very end right yeah don't make any major purchases
34:44that's chad rylan up and that field goal is good 27 yard field goal and the cardinals close the gap
34:54to one
34:59for the 17th year Cygna health care proud to support kicks for kids every successful cardinal school goal
35:05helps benefit child parent centers head start through a donation to the Arizona Cardinals Foundation
35:11providing comprehensive early childhood education and family support services across southeastern Arizona for 60 years
35:2027 yard field goal by chad rylan
35:24he'll handle the kickoff
35:29as cardinals and packers following a joint practice on wednesday that was very spirited
35:35in many different ways as the touchback our santan ford scoring drive presented by tim hovick santan
35:43ford right on the price right on the corner of the santan 202 freeway in valvista and gilbert
35:47a lot for trey mcbride to like 11 plays 56 yards five and a half off the clock culminating in
35:53the 27 yard field goal
35:58today trey mcbride he was unstoppable in the joint practice and then
36:02andrew winger the new safety the free agent signing jacksonville self-described as a quote
36:09psycho on the field and he was all over and he delivered a decisive blow on the fellow
36:17number 85 tucker craft and that was look at our new faces sponsored by your valley gmc dealers
36:22quick pitch off the right side and making a tackle as a flag flies out in space on jaded
36:29nixon you see andrew winger right there
36:38darien canard is the guilty party and with your talk last week about how
36:43fun it is to be able to now get along get a chance to play alongside a guy like buddha
36:47baker
36:48how intelligent who the baker is winger's another smart db see them right next to each other right
36:52there that chemistry can pay dividends in the regular season because they'll get a chance to
36:57communicate even sometimes non-verbally to know where each other's going to be
37:02funny winger said he was actually watching tape of buddha baker a week before he got a call from the
37:08cardinals and free agency so it's a great point there and the other reason we show training grind
37:13is winger to train the grind go back to their college days colorado stayed against wyoming and
37:19there was a lot of bad blood according to andrew winger between the two of them they mixed it up
37:24more
37:24than once and then last year when the cardinals played jacksonville those two went at it again i was
37:29down to the sideline watching those guys that was the game within the game
37:33as cal mccord to the air giving ground looking right point across the middle has a man
37:38torn down shy of the 30-yard line isaiah nair
37:43they said they had their stepbrothers moment they made up all is good now but they compete they
37:49they still compete out on the practice field no doubt and people forget that
37:53yeah you you're playing but you know these guys you played against them sometimes in college and
37:59other teams in the nfl sometimes going back to high school and there can't be some of the unity the
38:03friendship but there can't be some bad blood so you want to get your get back you see them on
38:08the
38:08football field anybody remembers dennis gardek who had similar hair outside linebacker right the
38:16barbarian as he was called throw downfield for a first down how about that on second and 16 cal mccord
38:24he gets it downfield jay michael sturdon well dennis gardek signs that was a gain of 17 with jacksonville
38:32and he sees his look-alike from across the way and andrew they just stared at each other right and
38:39they
38:39sort of pointed at each other yeah the spider man yeah it's pretty funny
38:48and knowing your role though ingrid saying hey man my job is to to be the guy that's not afraid
38:52to hit
38:53somebody to set the tone to lay my body on the line for my teammates and to be an example
38:58people follow
39:00that players follow that it looks and you know this card has got off to a slow start in that
39:05joint
39:05practice you see mac wilson senior right there right there those two guys they put that nasty into the
39:12cardinals defense mac wilson senior was at the epicenter of the first scrum guys woke up very
39:17next play saving collins interception off jordan low and and then all of a sudden a few plays later
39:24i guess tucker craft had and done something earlier or what have you he turned on field and nope
39:30he got drilled by winger and it was like so odd at that point and the cardinals were the team
39:35that
39:35responded and closed out in strong fashion and football can be a game of emotion and sometimes you
39:41need that emotional spark now you have to execute but still that emotional piece does help you get
39:45started at times first down to ten play fake man right into space bj on jolari in the backfield
39:53and down goes mccord making a sack and a half for ogilari and i love it because you could tell
40:01he's
40:01getting that comfortable again just a few plays ago i was just watching bj ogilari number nine say man he's
40:06looking like he's back again look at it just the patience the speed the burst doesn't get blocked but
40:11the burst to be able to go and finish that play sometimes get if you get on the field you'll
40:15get
40:15a couple freebie sacks quote-unquote but they're not free you still have to earn it by getting the
40:19quarterback down i like the burst i'm seeing from bj ogilari hadn't seen it earlier now he's getting
40:23back yeah great to see the guys dealt with a lot of injuries jayton nixon trying to get the edge
40:30nothing doing let's go inside the trenches sponsored by foundry sports foundry sports and you see
40:41jonah williams dominic williams there two defensive linemen jonah the experienced vet dominic the free
40:51agent undrafted but a guy in oklahoma where he's a team captain last year he played more than 50 starts
41:00at oklahoma jonah williams played a lot of ball in this league brenner in the roster spot deep shot
41:06down and up mccord had a man and it goes right through his hands right through the bread basket isaiah
41:13in there had a step but he didn't have the ball and mayor has the speed the size the ability
41:21there's
41:23that double move right there and man just got to finish that play we'll have to be able to finish
41:31back out behind elijah jones and josh minkins
41:34a much more power court to do that was right on the money dropped it in the bucket here comes
41:43a
41:43putter daniel wheelen packers return the punt 81 yards for a score earlier this time trey walsh as
41:53ahead of steve spun down at the 33 yard line so we'll get a look at the cardinals offense
42:01midway through the third quarter at lambo
42:07all right time to take a look at our fight for 53 sponsored by the desert financial credit union
42:14man it is a fierce fight in that wide receiver room for those last few spots make plays make the
42:20team both those guys sam have done a lot of that this preseason it's the rookie and the vet the
42:25question that the general manager money off support is going to have is if you have to cut one and
42:31you
42:31want to bring one back who's more likely not going to get claimed on someone else's either active or
42:37roster practice squad that could be the question partners you have trying to answer it's a great
42:42point evan hole can't get out of the backfield take it down for example semi fei hoko a year ago
42:50was exposed to waivers and ended up right back on the cargo so you're more likely i would presume in
42:57some cases to get the veteran through as opposed to maybe a fifth round rookie who maybe was allowed
43:03to slip a little farther on the draft other teams realizing that might have been a mistake and then
43:08all of a sudden reggie virgins available he might be more likely to get snapped up and veterans you know
43:13if you're on the active roster week one that contract's guaranteed so that could place a piece of it
43:19slow this is the puzzle cannot get away pressure from the back side nigeli kelly in there
43:26slowest taken down
43:29this is a lot more than just all right who has the best highlight reel
43:34what's your status on special teams what is the ability to get you through waivers
43:40you have to worry about managing the cap so a loss of six it'll be third and 16 for the
43:48cardinals
43:52slow is the fourth quarterback in this roster
43:58snap four man rush pocket holds throws batted down
44:05and a big play there on the front seven
44:09jay cromity
44:14so here comes the punch team
44:18seven man protection
44:20you see the the great pressure by cromity right there
44:23pushing the pocket pressing the pocket onto montrey jacobs
44:30all right one of the big plays in this game
44:32game was the 81 yard punt return will shepherd of the Packers jack brownie
44:39on his way Jake Nixon the return man makes the first man this is a flag flies trying to get
44:50to the wall
44:51and he's ridden down at the 30 yard line Isaiah Oliver making the tackle
44:57but again we have a penalty marker down on the field all told bonus preseason a lot of clean football
45:05compared to previous pre-seasons now that's just the eyeball test but
45:10during the kid
45:11holding receiving team number 30
45:1410 yard penalty from the end of the kick
45:16first half I don't know coach LaFleur would cite some of the
45:21false starts and the other pre-staff penalties
45:24but again it is pre-season
45:31welcome back into Lambeau field with the cardinals trail the Packers 24-23
45:35I'm joined by center Yelda Froholt who signed a two-year extension
45:39earlier this week keeping him in arizona for the next three the desert viking stays in the desert
45:45Yelda what makes arizona the right spot for you after all these years when you first joined in 2023
45:53I don't know I mean I think I think you know being here the past couple years and you know
45:57getting
45:57a relationship with all the guys in the room and you know trying to create that family feel for all
46:01the offense alignment and it's just it's just been awesome so we end up moving here before we sign
46:05with the cardinals and it was fate since then so raised my girls here and oh yeah just stoked to
46:10hang around now you have funds to get those big rocks you like to have in your home gym yeah
46:15I know
46:15I know I can get a lot of rocks now that's for sure so I'm pretty stoked about that y
46:20'all there's
46:20some early adversity to the right guard spot starting role and backup role with some injuries
46:25there as a center what is the most important job to make sure the entire line stays intact
46:31you know I mean I think just making sure communication stays at a premium you
46:35you know but Johnny jumped in there right away and you know he's been playing center the past couple
46:39years so he I mean he understands the whole pay book he knows what everybody
46:42was
46:42you
