Jack Teagarden & His Orchestra - You're Simply Delish

Teagarden (1905-1964) was a trombonist, bandleader, composer and vocalist. By 1920 he was playing in San Antonio, including Peck Kelley's band. In the mid 20s he traveled around the US with different bands. In 1927, he came to New York. By 1928 he played for the Pollack band. In the late 20s he recorded with notable bandleaders. In the early 1930s Teagarden was based in Chicago, for some time playing with the band of Wingy Manone. He played at the Century of Progress exposition in Chicago. Teagarden sought financial security during The Great Depression and signed an exclusive contract to play for the Paul Whiteman Orchestra from 1933 through 1938. He then ledhis own big band, which was not a commercial success, In 1946 Teagarden joined Louis Armstrong's All Stars. Despite the rather poor sound of this Perfect issue, I share it because of the high value of this 1930 performance, featuring Teagarden on trombone and Eddie Gale on vocal.
