Dave Kaplan & His Happiness Orchestra-I Can't Believe That You're In Love With Me

American pianist and bandleader Dave Kaplan (not to be mistaken for the Canadian bandleader Dave Caplan) is almost totally forgotten today. Sadly, hardly any information is available about him. He is best remembered for his work accompanying the Happiness Boys at the piano. As a bandleader, he exclusively recorded for Edison, mainly during the first half of the 1920s. This is one of his later sides, waxed in 1927. Unfortunately, this disc was quite damaged, and it was impossible to avoid some skips and cracks. However, I considered this rendition too remarkable to discard.
