Bruce Honore's Fatal Crash @ Cambridge 2016 (Aftermath)

The second round of the Cambridge MX Club Days, a sanctioned motorcycle club series held at the Cambridge motocross circuit in the Waikato Region of the North Island, New Zealand, was marred by a fatal accident, involving spectators. As a result of the crash, one man was killed while two other spectators were treated for injuries at hospital.
The accident happened after noon on Sunday, 22 May 2016. During a race, twenty-year-old rider Aaron Jones was rounding a corner when he lost control of his bike, that became airborne and flew across the barrier on the left-hand side of the track, up the embankment and into the spectators. One of them, Bruce Honore, 68, from Ngahinapouri, Waikato Region, New Zealand, was killed. Attempts were made to resuscitate him, but efforts failed and he was pronounced dead at the track just after 12h30.
Two other spectators, including Bruce's wife Meri Honore were injured. She was airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a serious condition, but was released on Monday evening. The other spectator was treated for minor injuries at a local medical centre. According to eyewitnesses report, the crash occurred when the throttle on the motorbike jammed on an uphill section of the track, approaching a steep right turn with a left embankment towards the finish line.
