James Adamo's Fatal Crash @ Daytona 1993 (Aftermath)

Multi time AMA-American Motorcyclist Association Roadrace champion James C. Adamo, "Jim" Adamo as he was mostly known, was the son of Italian parents who came from the province of Benevento, southern Italy. He made his racing debut in motocross racing at the age of 14. Adamo became a professional motocross racer in 1973, and developed his career mainly in the American Motorcyclist Association motocross circuit until he suffered severe knee injuries in a race, and he decided to switch to paved road track racing.
Jim Adamo lost his life at the age of 36, during the Daytona 200, held on Sunday, 07 March 1993. He started from 17th row and on seventh lap his Ducati went out of control and slammed into a concrete retaining wall and a steel guardrail. He was pronounced dead at the scene, victim of massive head injuries.
The race was not stopped after the accident, and Eddie Lawson on a Yamaha eventually was the winner, ahead of Scott Russell's Kawasaki.
