Brother of the British family arrested over their murders in French Alps

The brother of Saad al-Hilli who was shot dead along with his family in the French Alps last year was arrested in England on June 24 on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

According to Reuters, Saad al-Hilli, an Iraqi-born British engineer was found shot dead in September 2012 with his wife and mother-in-law in their BMW car on a remote mountain road near the village of Chevaline, with the body of a cyclist, Sylvain Mollier, discovered nearby. They were killed in what appeared to be execution-style murders with at least two hits to the head. A French public prosecutor said that despite the lack of formal evidence, the police now have enough elements to question the victim's brother as a suspect.

This animation is a reenactment of the murders based on an official narrative of the crime published by UK and French media.
