Drone Comes To The Rescue Of Stranded, Dangling Window Cleaner

A drone recently helped rescue a window cleaner in Abu Dhabi who was stranded outside the 10th floor of a very tall building.

Drones often get a bad rap because of their spying and bomb-deploying capabilities, but not all of them are used for such purposes.

One, for example, recently helped rescue a window cleaner in Abu Dhabi who was stranded outside the 10th floor of a tower block.

The worker’s platform had malfunctioned, leaving him with no way of getting either up or down.

Concerned that the scaffold would give way entirely, the cleaner at one point attempted to crawl out of the lift and was clinging onto the windows.

Police and rescue workers were able to get the situation under control, thanks to the help of a drone.

The camera and audio equipped flyer was sent to check in on the man and the broken rig. Through it, the rescue team talked to the individual in peril.

Authorities were able to calm him down while the drone took pictures of the mechanical issues.

Once the problem had been identified, emergency workers gave the stranded man instructions on how to fix it, and before long he was safely on the ground.

He was taken in for a medical exam, and it’s been reported that other than being in a bit of shock, he was doing just fine.
