00:00Miami is going to be the worst defense in the NFL.
00:02I've said it.
00:03Yeah, we identified that.
00:04Yeah, we identified that.
00:05I think that I would not look to play unders
00:08because I do think Willis and Cubs, I think offensively,
00:11I think they'll be able to hang.
00:12They'll be able to score some points.
00:14But I just don't, I think any kind of shootout game
00:17is not going to work in their favor.
00:20I think we saw why Kirk Cousins was the option for the Raiders to begin with.
00:26But he was gently, healthy, looked like a real running back.
00:31And Max Crosby still is a menace on the outside,
00:36even though he thought he'd be a Raven or something else along those lines by now.
00:41But, I mean, listen, the Dolphins offensive line, it's a rebuild here.
00:46We know that.
00:47But I'm certainly not running to the window to back any unders anytime soon
00:50with Miami either, don't you, Craig?
00:52No, I saw it opened at 12 for San Francisco next week.
00:56So that's going to be 14 before they kick off next week for sure.
01:00Yeah, no, that game, that was one of the games yesterday that you and I talked.
01:04Not surprising at all.
01:06Almost exactly, I think, the way that I sort of thought it would be,
01:09which is the Raiders now are going to be a little bit overrated
01:12for doing as well as they did on offense,
01:13not understanding that the Dolphins have 10 new starters on defense.
01:17Like, that's a real thing.
01:19And adding seven new players to their team a week before the season starts.
01:24Offensively, I agree with you, Joe.
01:25I do think that Miami, when they get back here, not next week,
01:29but when they get back here in two weeks,
01:32you know, some team is going to be playing in the heat in the fourth quarter
01:34and they're going to melt,
01:35and Miami's going to score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter
01:37and beat somebody.
01:38You know, that's, you know, remember, before we get to November,
01:41they got that sun on the sidelines at Hard Rock Stadium,
01:45and teams just wilter in that in the early part of the season.
01:49Miami usually early, pretty good, late, very bad.
01:52That's what's going to happen.
01:54And the other thing, look, again, Miami's going to win one or two games,
01:59maybe three.
01:59They're going to be horrible.
02:00But the kid, Caleb Douglas, their wide receiver,
02:02very capable wide receiver, 90 yards, four or five catches.
02:07For some reason, they went away from A-chain yesterday.
02:09I'm not really sure why.
02:13So Miami will win some games.
02:16They'll probably cover some spreads over the course of the season.
02:19I would be extraordinarily careful with the Raiders
02:22because that was the game on the schedule that was, like, the pancake game.
02:26Like, they got to eat and win that game.
02:27They did.
02:28The line was three.
02:29I don't know why it went down from five to three.
02:31That didn't make any sense to me either.
02:33Raiders are not a good team, but they had a good day
02:35because they played against, again, you're right, 100%.
02:38Worst defense in the NFL is going to be the Dolphins this season.
02:42And the Raiders, look how many times the Raiders put up 27 last year.
02:46Is it two times?
02:47Is it three times?
02:48Four?
02:49They did that in week one.
02:50That's not going to happen a lot this season.
02:52But good job, by the way.
02:53I think a good offensive line and a healthy gentry.
02:57I think you saw yesterday with a capable quarterback
03:01what they're capable of doing.
03:03And I think the big question to me was always going to be
03:05the Raiders' secondary.
03:07Could that defense?
03:08I think that front is good.
03:09I think Max Crosby is still going to be one of the top three
03:11sack leaders in the NFL again this year.
03:14So it's going to be interesting, the progression here,
03:17watching the Raiders.
03:19They're not winning the AFC West, but they will be, I think,
03:22a 500 team.
03:24Maybe.
03:26I think they'll win half there.
03:28They'll win eight games, somewhere in that ballpark there.
03:32The problem is, is eight games, does that get Mendoza any closer
03:37to being under center, Craig?
03:38That's the other thing.
03:39No, no.
03:41I mean, short of being a three-win or four-win team,
03:45but I don't know.
03:46I mean, are you okay?
03:48If you're the Raiders, are you okay sitting him for the full season here?
03:53If I'm going to win eight games, I'm okay with him kind of taking his lumps
03:58here and learning on the sideline.
04:00I think that at this point, it'd be fair to say that the Raiders
04:03would have to lose their next three games to even start talking about
04:06Kirk Cousins or about Mendoza.
04:08I think he bought himself at least three more games with that win.
04:12I think if he loses, we may be talking about after next week,
04:14him coming in.
04:16I thought the thing to me that was very surprising was Miami had, like,
04:22no pass rush on Kirk Cousins.
04:24Like, that is the only thing you got to do.
04:26If you're going to win that game, this guy is not moving.
04:28One of the very few quarterbacks in the NFL that ain't moving out of the
04:32pocket.
04:32There's only two or three that are left in the NFL that can't move.
04:34He's one of them.
04:35They couldn't get any pass rush.
04:36They weren't blitzing.
04:38It just seemed as though there were young players playing that weren't
04:42completely familiar.
04:44And look, to Miami's credit, think about it.
04:49Halfley came from Green Bay.
04:51They have Malik Willis at quarterback.
04:52He's going to get that going, Halfley.
04:54The team's going to be a little bit better as the season goes on.
04:58And I'm with you with Mendoza.
05:00Right now, if they reset the line, I think you had it, though.
05:05I think you nailed it when we were talking about this last week because
05:08the schedule was, like, murderous.
05:09You mentioned a really tough schedule at some point.
05:11Maybe week 10, week 11 for Nino Mendoza.
