00:00with the Denver Broncos traveling to Arrowhead to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. A lot of
00:06questions I have about the Chiefs this season, and namely, I mean, what are we getting with
00:15Patrick Mahomes? People don't usually recover as fast as he did from blowing out his knee in
00:22December. Don't know about his mobility. I imagine that Andy Reid and company,
00:28Craig, went out and got themselves a world champion running back because they need to be
00:34able to run the ball on a consistent basis. Josh Simmons, the guy who protects the blind side,
00:40looks like won't be able to go here tonight, which means we're going to have a rookie protecting
00:46Patrick Mahomes on that side. So I got questions. I don't know what we're going to get from the
00:52offense this year, namely Patrick Mahomes. I certainly don't know what we're going to get
00:57for them tonight against Denver. Despite the high scoring games, it feels like a division rival
01:04defensive under 43 and a half matchup here.
01:09Well, I think that between the two of us, we're both going to leave people disappointed maybe
01:13tonight because I am with you, man. I got no idea. I have no idea. I mean, honestly, like,
01:19I mean, you didn't even mention Joe Bo Nix. I mean, this guy hasn't played in a really long time.
01:24He's been hurt, too. You know, yeah, I mean, Denver gets waddle in the offseason. He gets hurt
01:29right away. Their running backs have been hurt. Kansas City didn't look like themselves last year.
01:35I mean, look, I'll find a prop or two in this game that will fire out before the end. But
01:40I am with you totally, man. Like, I really don't know. Yep. Like, my gut sort of says it's like
01:48Kansas
01:50City, you know, on some, you know, 2025 was different. But if you look at, like, their 2024,
01:56it was more or less a lot of lucky wins at the end and blocked field goals. And then people
02:01said,
02:01well, that's kind of why last year they regressed to the mean a little bit because they were just
02:06so fortunate in 2024. But I kind of want to believe that there's, like, that Mahomes little factor
02:12tonight, that there's, like, a late third down where there's a penalty and he ends up, you know,
02:17getting the ball into Bucker range and Bucker kicks a field goal. Maybe that's kind of the
02:22direction for me with this one. But an extraordinary difficult game to call on Monday night because the
02:27two teams know each other, because they played against each other. It feels to me a little bit
02:33like we may see something similar to the game in Australia, where when you have two teams in the
02:40same division facing off against one another and they know each other so well and they just played
02:45each other last year. Maybe that's the, maybe it's an under, maybe it's not a high scoring game.
02:50But I'm with you, Joe. It's really hard to predict when you have two quarterbacks who are coming off
02:54major injuries. One guy who missed seven months, another guy who couldn't play in the AFC Championship,
03:00his injury was so bad. And then you mean to tell me that these guys are going to come off
03:04firing
03:04and running tonight? I really don't believe it. But I think there's a couple of different
03:08props tonight, maybe potentially to look at. But I am with you. I'm a pass on the game.
03:13Yeah, I think the defenses are going to be the story of the game. I really do. I don't think
03:19we're going to see uptempo Kansas City anymore. Matt Nagy's gone for the Kansas City Chiefs. Don't
03:26forget. And listen, you go out and you invest in a, you know, a Super Bowl MVP and a running
03:32back for
03:32a reason. And I think that reason is, can you remember the last great running back that Mahomes
03:38and Kansas City have had? What comes to mind if you think about it, Craig? I mean, the running backs
03:44for, I mean, that's why, that's why it's been head scratching to me. I think Mahomes was very
03:53fortunate to have a Travis Kelsey and a Terry kill in their prime and took advantage of it.
04:01Uh, I, he has not had those guys. And you tell me, has anything we've seen from Kansas City,
04:07including the blowout, uh, with Philadelphia in the suit, does that offense look anything
04:12even remotely close with rice? And no, it, it doesn't. And I think that's a big reason why
04:19I think my home's not, I'm saying not, not that he's terrible, but I think we might be expecting
04:24a little too much from Mahomes because of what he used to be. I'm not sure that he's that. And
04:31quite
04:31honestly, I'm not sure the Kansas City Chiefs are that team anymore either. They'll be good
04:36defensively, but I don't know if that's going to be enough to win that division. We watched the
04:40Chargers lose yesterday. Is Denver the team to beat in this division?
