05:41Last week it was 14-0 before you could blink.
05:44It's a different game when you're out there playing with a lead.
05:50The second down, Mechie comes in motion in the backfield.
05:53A quick toss to Williams to the right.
05:55And he's along the numbers.
05:56And he's got a first down as he dives down to the 13.
06:00Sanker makes the tackle for the Saints.
06:03Gain of 13.
06:04These plays only work if they're well blocked.
06:06Watch Adonai Mitchell, 15.
06:08Right there, working against Elante Taylor.
06:11That's well done.
06:12Membu gets up on the safety.
06:14And then Williams with the stiff arm.
06:16I am loving what the Jets are doing on this drive.
06:19The more often you can get the ball in the hands of Isaiah Williams, the better.
06:24And if he's going to get blocks from Mitchell and Membu like that, he can make them work.
06:28All right, so they're in the red zone.
06:29Don't forget, they have five giveaways in the red zone this year.
06:33They've got to take care of the football.
06:35Play clock is down to three.
06:36And Hall is hit behind a lot of scrimmage and stops.
06:41Demario Davis, the veteran who's a tackle machine.
06:44It's a loss of two.
06:48Man, he's been doing it for so long so well.
06:51Watch Demario Davis.
06:52He reads it and he's coming.
06:54Watch this.
06:55He beats the double team, gets in there.
06:57That's one where Myers and the left guard, they've got to have eyes on Demario Davis.
07:04Myers needs to come off on that.
07:06Simpson needs to stay on the down guy.
07:07They had a blocker for him.
07:09You need to have eyes on the run-through backer.
07:11See the red zone percentage for the Jets.
07:1348 percent, 48.5 percent.
07:1629th of the NFL.
07:17Ball is swatted at the line of scrimmage.
07:21And it was Bullard who had such a good week last week for the Saints.
07:25In fact, he finished with six tackles.
07:26He got his arm up there.
07:28It was the right read, too, by Brady Cook.
07:30He was going to throw the ball underneath to Brees Hall.
07:33Something I'd like to see the Jets do more often.
07:36You'll see Brees Hall is going to come out, sit down against the zone coverage.
07:40He's open.
07:41Brady Cook is going to put it right on him.
07:43He would have turned forward and gotten some decent yardage.
07:46Now it's third and long.
07:48The premium here for Brady Cook is to protect the football.
07:51Reserve the right to kick a field goal here if you're the Jets and take the lead.
07:55Don't try to force something.
07:56Isaiah Davis comes in for the first time in the backfield.
07:59Cook on third down.
08:01Gets it to Williams in the flat.
08:02And Williams is stopped.
08:04It was conservative.
08:05But again, they can attempt the field goal if that's what they choose.
08:09Listen, Brady Cook has four interceptions in the red zone the last two games.
08:14You did not want that to happen again.
08:16Go out there.
08:17Feel good about the force fumble.
08:19Kick the field goal.
08:20Folk has been automatic this year.
08:22And take the lead.
08:24That's, by the way, Tom, why it kills you when you have the lost yardage on first down.
08:29You get behind the sticks like that.
08:30It makes it much, much tougher.
08:3229-yard field goal attempt for Nick Folk.
08:35He doesn't miss from inside 40.
08:38And he still doesn't miss from inside 40.
08:40And the Jets capitalize off the takeaway and lead it 3-0 over the Saints.
08:47My kids can't hide anything from.
08:50Imagine that.
08:54Progressive.
08:55Coverage you can count on.
08:56Progressive.com.
08:59And by Taco Bell.
09:01Take a stroll inside the Ritz-Carlton here where the SS Bingle, the gingerbread riverboat, can be found.
09:153-0.
09:16Jets on top.
09:17Off the turnover.
09:18They get the field goal from Big Folk.
09:21And this kickoff is just going to roll and it's not going to get to the landing zone.
09:26So flags come.
09:27Free kick short of the landing zone by the kicking team.
09:32Ball will be placed at the right hash.
09:3440-yard line.
09:35First down.
09:3540 yards is where the offense will begin.
09:37Let's check in with Tiffany.
09:38Hey, guys.
09:39You guys were talking about Chris Harris, the Jets defensive coordinator.
09:43And we talked to Harrison Phillips on that D-line.
09:45He told us this is the first time he's had a D.C. change midseason.
09:48He's heard the horror stories from other guys around the league when players just don't trust the guy taking over.
09:53They're going to try to play their own game.
09:55But that hasn't been the case with Harris.
09:57As he told us, you guys, they have a lot of love and respect for him.
10:00Yeah, his voice has certainly been heard in the meetings over the last several weeks.
10:03Well, they forced a turnover on 50% of his snaps so far.
10:06I don't know if I'm going to hold up.
10:08On first down, they hand the ball off to Estabe.
10:10And Estabe, with his first touch, gets about five yards.
10:15Let's check in with Adam Scheid in New York.
10:18Tom, how about this?
10:19It's a beautiful opening drive for the Browns.
10:22Rookie to rookie.
10:23Shador Sanders to Harold Fennett Jr.
10:26Shador, five for five on the drive.
10:297-0 Cleveland over the Bills.
10:31Back to you.
10:32All right, Adam, thank you.
10:33The Browns, of course, have the fourth overall pick right now in next year's draft.
10:37A gain of four yards for Estabe.
10:41Give me an idea of what the Saints fans will see from Estabe and Hall in there today for the backfields.
10:47You know, they've done a nice job.
10:49Kellen Moore told us this week he likes both those guys.
10:52They signed them late October off of other teams' practice squads.
10:57And then they ultimately elevate them in November.
11:00But both of them have gotten the job done when they've gotten opportunities.
11:02They get it to Hill again, and Hill is stopped by Quincy Williams.
11:07But a second effort gets a first down.
11:10A hair inside Jets territory.
11:12All right, so for Chris Harris, he seemed confident.
11:14He said he feels like it was, it's like preparing as a player.
11:19Yeah, he said it feels like his first game as a player.
11:22There's only so much you can do as a new coordinator.
11:25But he wants to play the style that Aaron Glenn wants.
11:30He talked about toughness and grit.
11:34I think some of those things he didn't feel like they were showing the last couple weeks.
11:38And let's be honest, I mean, it almost can't be worse than it was last two weeks.
11:41Very true.
11:41I feel like they had to change something.
11:43I give Aaron Glenn credit for making the move when he did.
11:46It seemed pretty likely that Wilks wasn't going to be here after the year anyway.
11:50Why not see if Chris Harris can make it look better and give him a three-game audition?
11:55Makes sense to me.
11:55And Aaron Glenn said that they interviewed Chris Harris for the defensive coordinator's position
12:00before Steve Wilks was hired.
12:03Chuck passes Kito Alave for first down to the 38-yard line.
12:11It's a gate of six yards.
12:14So this is one of the things you really like about Chuck.
12:17This is well done.
12:18This is just perfect timing.
12:19He even talked to us about making sure his eyes were matching his feet.
12:25But you love when you see any quarterback, especially a young quarterback,
12:28when their back foot hits at the top of their drop and the ball is out.
12:32That's the timing of the play.
12:34That's what you want to see.
12:37First down.
12:38He'll roll the pocket.
12:39He can run, and he's just throwing it away.
12:42In the direction of Kevin Austin, who was activated this week because of Vele's injury.
12:49And he has a good relationship with Austin.
12:51Chuck does.
12:52Austin made several big catches last week that they absolutely needed to win that game against the Panthers.
12:59This is how a lot of guys get their opportunity in the NFL.
13:02You think about Hull and Estime.
13:04I wasn't a starter until the guy in front of me got hurt, and I got a chance to play.
13:08When you get this opportunity, though, you absolutely need to make the most of it.
13:12That's how you change your life.
13:13Hull comes in motion.
13:15Bottom of your screen out of the backfield on second down.
13:18Chuck underneath.
13:19Pass is complete underneath.
13:21That's Jawan Johnson, his former college roommate.
13:25Sherwood makes the tackle.
13:26It's a gate of five.
13:27Well, how does that work?
13:28If Jawan Johnson's in his sixth year in the NFL, Chuck's a rookie, and they were roommates.
13:34Well, it's been a long, winding road for the Saints quarterback.
13:38A third down to the middle of the field.
13:42Pass is complete.
13:43He got Johnson again.
13:44It was like a battering ram.
13:47It was Sherwood who was in on the coverage.
13:49It's a gain of ten, and it's a first down.
13:52Watch the window that Chuck fits this into.
13:55There was not a lot of space right there.
13:58Tattoos it.
13:58Puts it right on the 8-3 in his chest.
14:00He'll try to throw again on first down.
14:03He's hit as he throws.
14:06Pressed as he throws.
14:08Looking for Hill.
14:10Let's check in with Tiffany.
14:12Yeah, Jawan Johnson on the end of a couple passes there.
14:15And when we talked to Chuck, he said that it's come full circle now,
14:18being able to actually get reps from him from being college teammates.
14:21And he anticipates a lot more.
14:23He said that Johnson's just such a physical threat.
14:25He's built like a tight end, but he's also just like a big receiver out there
14:29with the way he can move and bring that physicality to his game.
14:32Well, a played receiver at Penn State earlier in his college career.
14:35That's now 29 straight games, by the way, where he's caught at least two passes.
14:39It's clear when you watch Chuck, he likes going to Johnson middle of the field.
14:44That's like a security blanket for him.
14:46That's play of the drive.
14:47It'll be second down.
14:48Chuck tries to go underneath.
14:50His pass to Estimate is too short.
14:52It'll be third down.
14:53Didn't like Chuck's footwork on that one.
14:57Never really set his feet.
14:59Put the ball at Estimate's toes.
15:02Didn't really give him a chance to even catch the football.
15:05Let's see if Chuck sets his feet at all when he throws this.
15:08Yeah, no, he's kind of backing off of it because of the pressure there.
15:11Credit the Jets for getting pressure.
15:14Nice opportunity here for the Jets.
15:16Third and ten.
15:16Let's see what Chris Harris' third down package is.
15:20You know, Lee.
15:22You know, Lee.
15:22Lee.
15:24Wayne, what's up?
15:25Olave in motion off the play fake.
15:27A third down.
15:28Throws underneath.
15:29Pass is complete underneath to Tipton.
15:31And Tipton is tackled shy of the first down.
15:35Jordan Clark makes the tackle.
15:37A gate of six.
15:38That's got to make Harris feel good.
15:39Absolutely.
15:40That's a nice set of downs there for the Jets.
15:43It's man-to-man coverage.
15:44Clark sees the crossing route from Tipton who can fly.
15:47And Clark's all over him.
15:49That's exactly how you want a young guy like Clark to play that on third and long.
15:54You can let him catch the ball as long as you tackle him and make him hit a field goal.
15:58Charlie Smith is on for the point after.
16:01Just signed to a three-year contract this week.
16:04Former Gaelic football player.
16:06Good snap.
16:07Good hold.
16:07Kick is good.
16:08And we are tied up at three.
16:116-31 to play here in the first quarter.
16:14It's the Jets and the Saints all tied up.
16:17Cook and Schock match it up.
16:21On the 12th day of...
16:22Christmas week.
16:25Very festive in New Orleans.
16:28There's always a lot going on here.
16:30A couple with a holiday.
16:33People are excited about their Saints right now.
16:35You know, talking with different people around the team,
16:38it feels like this is as excited as they've been in a couple years.
16:42That's what happens when you have a rookie quarterback that you believe in
16:45that leads them to come from behind wins against the two division leaders.
16:49Speaking of exciting, Williams lets this one go by him out of the back of the end zone.
16:56Experience the musical magic of the season.
16:59Christina Aguilera.
17:00Christmas in Paris.
17:02CBS tomorrow at 9, 8 central.
17:05Last week, Williams did not have any opportunities on kickoffs.
17:09They just, the Jags kept kicking out of the back of the end zone.
17:12And now Brady Cook, 3 of 4 so far, 20 yards, making his second straight start.
17:17Even the incompletion, he knew where to go with the ball.
17:20He was going to Brees Hall, but Bullard was able to get a hand on it.
17:25Cook looks to me like a guy that's going to be in the NFL for a while.
17:28I don't know if he'll end up being a starter or not, but he just looks comfortable enough
17:32and accurate enough that he looks like maybe a long-term backup.
17:37Hall in motion out of the backfield.
17:39They throw it to him, and he gets to the edge, makes a few men miss,
17:42and then splices the defense for a first down.
17:45Taylor's there to make the tackle.
17:48At least he's right at the first down marker, gain of 10.
17:50That's something I'd like to see the Jets do even more.
17:53Not only these last three games, but if they're able to re-sign or bring back Brees Hall,
17:58throw him the ball.
17:59He is an absolute weapon out of the backfield.
18:03Was talking with Aaron Glenn and Tanner Engstrand about running the whole offense through Brees Hall,
18:08almost like he's Christian McCaffrey.
18:09Because right now, with the other guys on offense, the other guys around him know Garrett Wilson.
18:14He kind of has to be.
18:15Came in today's game 14th in the NFL in rushing because he was light last week.
18:20Gain of six yards.
18:21All right, give me a key matchup you want to see.
18:23Jets offense against the Saints defense.
18:25Well, I love when you have matchups like this.
18:27Armand Membu, only 21 years old, the rookie, going up against Cam Jordan in year 15, 36 years old.
18:38Membu's impressive.
18:39Even Brandon Staley, the D coordinator for the Saints, said he's the second-best run-blocking tackle.
18:45He's evaluated coming out of the draft just behind Panay Seul, which says a lot about Membu.
18:50He physically reminds me of a former teammate of mine, Jason Peters.
18:54Wow.
18:55Here's Hall again, and Hall gets about a yard shy of the first down.
19:00And by the way, Cameron Jordan, you mentioned 15th year.
19:03They're wearing the gold jerseys today and the gold pants, and this is his favorite color.
19:06There's Cam Jordan.
19:09Brandon Staley in his first year as the defense coordinator.
19:16He was the head coach in Los Angeles when Tellin Moore was his offensive coordinator.
19:22Third and an inch.
19:24This should be a quarterback sneak.
19:27Which we did see him accomplish last week against the Jets.
19:30And he goes right over the block at the center, but there is a flag that comes in with some extra shoving at the ends.
19:37Clay Martin is the referee.
19:55Personal foul against the Jets.
19:58Well, that's kind of a backbreaker on third down and about a foot.
20:02I think it's on the left guard, Simpson.
20:04Personal foul.
20:08Chop block on the offense, number 76 and 71.
20:1215-yard penalty.
20:14Third down.
20:14And so Myers and Simpson.
20:16Yeah, he got it wrong.
20:17It's actually Fashionew and Simpson.
20:19Watch Simpson.
20:20I don't know why he goes down to the ground like this.
20:23But then when he goes to the ground and Fashionew's high, that's a chop block.
20:28That is a critical error.
20:30You know, Simpson's a veteran player.
20:31There was no reason to go to the ground like that.
20:34They just got two and a half yards on a quarterback sneak to keep the chains moving.
20:39Instead, it's third and forever.
20:40Mark that one down.
20:41Those are the things that get you beat.
20:45Yeah, third down and 16.
20:47They need to get to the 40-yard line for first down.
20:50Saints clearly in zone coverage here.
20:54They're going to let him complete it underneath.
20:55Case Young, bottom of his screen, number 99.
20:58The pass to Ruckert.
20:59And Ruckert is underneath.
21:01He's shy of the first down.
21:03Taylor's there to make the tackle.
21:05It'll be fourth down.
21:08Yeah, that's a shame.
21:09Yeah, I mean, you think about that, though.
21:11I mean, you don't get that many possessions in an NFL game.
21:14The Jets were moving it pretty well.
21:17They correctly run quarterback sneak.
21:19They get two and a half yards.
21:21Simpson, for some unknown reason, goes down to the ground.
21:24Didn't need to.
21:26And it cost the Jets dearly.
21:27Now they've got to punt it.
21:29Yeah, this is only the 18th punt of the year for McNamara on the road.
21:33The Jets have played better on the road.
21:36Their offense has.
21:37Pettis is back deep to receive, standing at his 15.
21:46He gets this one off.
21:49It's going to bounce.
21:50Pettis will try to return it.
21:53Pettis out of bounds, close to the 25-yard line.
21:58It's 3-3, 3-17 to play.
22:0151-yard punt.
22:02Well, we'll do a little ice skating with Ross Tucker during the holiday season.
22:10Get your way.
22:12You rule.
22:13And by Verizon, the best 5G network.
22:17There's only one best.
22:22Festive look at Jackson Square here in New Orleans.
22:25Trees everywhere.
22:26By the way, there was a late flag that was thrown as we were going into break.
22:29You can always count on Sundays right through the AMC Championship with the NFL on CBS.
22:34It's streaming on Paramount+.
22:36Cam Jones was called for holding for the Jets.
22:40So that gives the Saints a little better field position up to the 34-yard line.
22:45Shuck will go back to work.
22:47He's 5 of 9 for 33 yards.
22:49I haven't seen Tyler Shuck use his legs yet.
22:51That's going to happen at some point.
22:53Estimate.
22:54He might have gotten one before he was ripped down by Harrison Phillips.
22:57Harrison Phillips, who has been a great addition to that defensive line,
23:02and has particularly helped out since the trade deadline for the Jets.
23:06He's another guy.
23:07I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets end up giving him a contract extension.
23:11I asked about it.
23:11He said nothing to comment on at this time.
23:14A little pass to Olave, and Olave's got a first down.
23:20Malachi Moore eventually made the tackle.
23:22It's a gate of 20 yards.
23:23That was a beautiful pass from Shuck.
23:25They like this up-tempo offense.
23:28You'll see left side of your screen, Olave in breaking route.
23:31Shuck puts it right on him.
23:33That first down, another pass completion.
23:38Quincy Williams in on the coverage.
23:39That was Olave again.
23:42So not a whole lot of difference yet defensively for the Jets.
23:45Now, I haven't really noticed much, but in fairness,
23:48they don't have much of an opportunity.
23:49Now, the Saints are taking a little bit more time to huddle up.
23:53But when you go with an up-tempo offense like the Saints have been doing a bunch,
23:57part of the reason why you do that is to keep that same personnel grouping
24:01out there on the field and to shorten the D coordinator Harris' play calls.
24:06You really can't get to that much when you think you might snap it quickly.
24:10Tipped it in the backfield.
24:11They're going to Taysom Hill.
24:12A little shovel pass, and Hill gets all the way down to the 25.
24:16Malachi Moore makes the tackle.
24:20Gate of 17 yards.
24:22Watch Shuck.
24:23Shuck's going to come and then flip it underneath.
24:26Just the threat of Shuck going that way and all the flow that way
24:30gave the Saints offensive linemen awesome angles.
24:33Nice job by Raidens getting up to the second level.
24:36Not sure what Quincy Williams was doing there overrunning the play.
24:41But I like that design from Kellen Moore.
24:43And now Taysom Hill's in there, a quarterback.
24:45Anytime Taysom's in the backfield, think run.
24:48The Saints are having trouble getting lined up.
24:50A little wildcat.
24:53As he'll keep it himself.
24:55And there you go.
24:56Think run.
24:57And it was a run.
24:58Let's check it with Adam Scheid in New York.
25:00Tom Lee Baker-Mayfield to Mike Evans.
25:02Connection is back.
25:03Evans' first touchdown since week number three.
25:067-3 Bucs leading Carolina.
25:08Back to you.
25:08Honestly, Adam, they need to get themselves together.
25:11They're obviously 7-7 tied with Carolina.
25:13But they have not played solid football in recent weeks.
25:17The Saints are 3-1 against the Bucs and the Panthers.
25:20So if you're a Saints fan right now, you're thinking, all right, we make a couple of moves
25:24this offseason, have another good draft.
25:26We might be able to be right there at the top of the division.
25:29Second and six, it's Evan Hall.
25:31And Hall moves the pile down to the 20-yard line.
25:35Actually, we're going to mark him shy of the 21.
25:38Sherwood was the first one there to make the tackle.
25:41Watch Sherwood.
25:42Now, this he does his DeMario Davis impression.
25:44He reads this and doesn't let the double team get him.
25:47Slides inside.
25:48Sherman, the right guard's late.
25:50That's a nice job there by Sherwood.
25:52But those are the type of plays they need him to make after all the money they gave him
25:57this offseason.
25:58The Saints do not have to snap the ball here.
26:00This could be a hard count to try to get a free five.
26:03Yeah, the clock winding under five seconds to play.
26:08And that is the end of the first quarter.
26:10Not a whole lot of offense, but the Saints are marching on.
26:14It's a 3-3 game as we go to the second quarter here in New Orleans.
26:18It'll be third down and six for the Saints, along with Ross Tucker, Tiffany Blackman,
26:24Gene Steratore.
26:25I'm Tom McCarthy.
26:26What are you thinking here, Ross?
26:28Well, on third downs or downs where they absolutely have to have it,
26:31it seems pretty clear that Shuck looks to Jawan Johnson and Chris Olave
26:36or uses his legs, although he took a vicious blow last week to his hip.
26:41I wonder if that limits his running at all today.
26:44Well, you mentioned Johnson.
26:45He came in motion.
26:46He's at the top of your screen.
26:47And Shuck rolls to his right.
26:49He's under pressure, and he sacks.
26:52It was Sherwood who was the first one there.
26:56And he'll be credited with the sack.
26:58Jermaine Johnson was there as well.
27:02Watch Sherwood against Hull.
27:04You have got to win when it's one-on-one against the back.
27:07Sherwood comes down.
27:09Here comes Hull.
27:09Whoop!
27:10That is a nice swim move from Sherwood to make the play for the Jets.
27:15This is the Sherwood the Jets were getting last year.
27:18They haven't gotten as much this year, but that's a couple TFL.
27:21TFL and a sack already for Sherwood.
27:24Well, this will be a 49-yard field goal attempt for Smith, and it is good.
27:29The rookie continues to be embraced by the city of New Orleans, much to the delight of Ireland.
27:36The Panthers, 20-17.
27:41His fans went wild watching from his hometown pub, Laverty's, in Mile Bridge, a small town,
27:47just over 1,000 people, about 90 minutes from Dublin.
27:51What a story he has become from the international pathway of the National Football League.
27:56It's just crazy.
27:57Had never kicked a football until two years ago.
28:00Incredible.
28:00There had to be some of your relatives in there.
28:03There's got to be somebody named McCarthy in that group.
28:05I'm sure there are.
28:07His kickoff is going to go out of the back of the end zone.
28:09Williams can't return it.
28:11Spend the night with CBS.
28:13Join host Bert Kreischer and Hardy as they celebrate with today's top country artists.
28:19New Year's Eve live.
28:20Nashville's Big Bash on CBS.
28:23That's awesome.
28:24I didn't know Bert Kreischer was going to be hosting that.
28:26Oh, yeah, he is.
28:27That guy's hilarious.
28:27All right, so total yards for the Jets, 55.
28:32They're down three.
28:35The first quarter, the Jets had 11 plays.
28:39New Orleans, meanwhile, had 11 snaps, 12 snaps, inside Jets territory.
28:44It's Davis who's in the backfield.
28:47And Ruckert will join him.
28:51All right, Eddie, what's up?
28:53Williams in motion.
28:54They go to Davis.
28:54Davis, he runs hard, but he's up close to the 40-yard line.
28:58He gave him nearly five.
28:59It'll be five officially.
29:02Carl Granderson makes the tackle and a flag comes in.
29:05Late flag.
29:07Ruckert and Taylor, they were getting to know each other a little bit.
29:12Well, Ruckert was the lead fullback on that play.
29:15One of the reasons why the Jets gave him a contract extension this week, the versatility that he possesses.
29:22After the play was over, personal foul, unnecessary roughness, defense number one, 15-yard penalty, and will be added to the dead ball spot.
29:31First down.
29:32Oh, Alante Taylor has called for the penalty, so that'll give the Jets excellent field position.
29:37Well, you see right side of your screen, right there, Ruckert was finishing the block on Taylor, driving him back, driving him back, driving him back.
29:46Taylor didn't like it.
29:47Hit him totally.
29:48Oh, the one in the back of the head's the one that did it.
29:50That is what you love from Ruckert.
29:53That's the way the Jets have to be.
29:55Aaron Glenn said he's one of us.
29:57That's why they just locked him up.
29:59You play fullback like that, you finish the block.
30:02That was awesome.
30:03They grew up a Jets fan on Long Island.
30:05On first down, Cook steps up in the pocket, throws underneath, passes complete to Davis.
30:10And Davis has a first down along the sidelines.
30:13Pete Werner knocked him out of bounds.
30:16It's a gate of 25.
30:17Those are really good plays for Brady Cook.
30:21Well, think about how much time he had.
30:23It's Jets' offensive line's playing well.
30:25Davis is wide open.
30:26Jets going right on the football right now.
30:28They know they got the Saints on their heels.
30:30On first down, give the ball to Davis again.
30:33Davis is able to break a tackle forward.
30:39Gate of almost three.
30:40Godshaw, he'll be credited with the first hit.
30:42Actually, they're going to say two.
30:43I'm still pumped up about that play by Ruckert.
30:45You like that?
30:46Yeah, I just, that's what you do.
30:47You finish plays.
30:49And you know what?
30:50When you finish plays like Ruckert did, the defense doesn't like it.
30:53They hit you after that.
30:54You get a free 15 yards.
30:56That's what Aaron Glenn wants.
30:58I like that Mugi and the Jets are locking up the guys that play the way they want them to play.
31:04A second down.
31:09Cook has it swatted away a second time.
31:15I think Justin Reed, back for the Saints, got his arms up to block that away.
31:20Watch Reed, top of your screen, Davis goes to block him.
31:23Reed jumps, he gets it.
31:25I think he does a flip then after that.
31:30That's the second time that Cook has had a ball batted down.
31:35Third, actually, at the line of scrimmage already.
31:38He's got to do a better job with a different arm angle.
31:41Third down, you can get the Saints with your legs.
31:44Be alert for Brady Cook's legs here.
31:46And a third down, Cook slings it off the fingertips of Mechie.
31:55It's incomplete.
31:57Kool-Aid, the kinkstreet was in on the coverage.
32:01The fourth down, the Jets will settle for a field goal attempt from Nick Folk.
32:05The 41-year-old, Brandon Steli, happy with the way his team's defense stops the Jets there.
32:13Probably wouldn't have gotten the first down anyway.
32:15Look at that stat, 97 in a row.
32:18I mean, if Phillip Rivers can play quarterback at 44, how long can Nick Folk just keep kicking?
32:24Well, this will be a 36-yard field goal attempt.
32:27McNamara is the holder.
32:28Good snap, good hold.
32:30Kick is right through the middle.
32:31We didn't jinx him.
32:32That's a good thing.
32:34We're tied up at 6, 12.38 to play here in the first half in New Orleans.
32:41Our prime has an AFC West showdown.
32:45St. Nick's and the Broncos meet Travis, Kelsey, and the Chiefs under the holiday lights in Arrowhead.
32:51And into the end, so he goes.
32:53Touchdown.
32:54Made it look easy.
32:56Broncos.
32:57Chiefs.
32:58Passport.
32:58Touchdown.
32:59Christmas night.
33:01Ho, ho, ho.
33:047.30 p.m. Eastern, only on front.
33:07Welcome to the season of Yes and at Sam's Club.
33:10Say yes to this awesome basketball game.
33:13You know, for the kids.
33:14And to curbside pickup.
33:16Huh.
33:17Pick the house.
33:18Just making sure it works.
33:21Say yes to amazing deals on 100-inch TVs and express delivery.
33:25Boys, put it right there.
33:27Sit down, fellas.
33:29This is based on a true story.
33:31Oh.
33:32Say yes to what you want this holiday and to the joy of Sam's Club.
33:37You're tied up.
33:39It's 6, 12.38 to play in the first half.
33:41It's time for the Verizon sideline report.
33:43Let's set it down to Tiffany Blackman.
33:45Hey, guys.
33:45Well, I caught up with Cam Jordan's wife, Nikki, before the game.
33:48And she was really excited to surprise Cam with something she's been hiding in the house all week long.
33:54It is these giant cutouts of his head that she gave to his kids, his nieces and nephews.
34:01His sister is in town from Germany.
34:03His father, Steve, the former Vikings, is great here, too.
34:05So Cam got quite the surprise when he got out onto the field.
34:09And he said the most Cam Jordan thing he could possibly say when I asked his reaction.
34:12He said, my family, we live.
34:15You know what's great, too, Tiff, is that every one of the fatheads, the placards,
34:21had different hairstyles of Cam Jordan over the years.
34:25Oh, that was really neat.
34:26Pettis on the return.
34:29Doing a little dancing.
34:31And it's Dean Clark who makes the hit.
34:34Well, Cameron Jordan is one of just a handful of active players, one of four active players to play for one team for 15 years or more.
34:43Really incredible in this day and age.
34:44It is remarkable what he's been able to do.
34:48128 sacks.
34:49He's actually tied for 17th on the all-time list with Saints great Ricky Jackson, believe it or not.
34:56But, you know, when you draft a guy in the first round, you're hoping that they end up being, you know, part of your core.
35:03How about 15 years doing it on and off the field for Cam?
35:08Yeah, he has sacked 50 5-0 different quarterbacks during his career, and he's well aware of it.
35:15In fact, if he gets Brady Cook, he would be the 51st.
35:19The gate of one.
35:20Walker makes the tackle for the Jets.
35:22All right, so it's 6-6, but it feels like the offenses of both teams are moving the ball well in this first half.
35:30They have.
35:30They've just bogged down when they get in opponent territory.
35:33That's why we have four field goals so far.
35:35But they have been able to move the ball pretty effectively.
35:38I'm a little surprised neither quarterback has run yet.
35:42You know, both these teams have shown to be susceptible to that.
35:46A second down, Shuck looking to throw, throws to the far side.
35:52He's got Olave, but he's out of bounds.
35:54Covered by Brandon Stephens.
35:57That's a gate of 14 yards.
35:59Olave is so smooth on these outbreaking routes.
36:03Watch Olave.
36:06Comes out.
36:07I mean, he's just silky smooth.
36:09Stephens giving him a lot of respect.
36:11Oh, this is six consecutive completions as he gets Johnson, his former college teammate.
36:17Sherwood makes the tackle.
36:19You know, they were collegiate teammates at Oregon.
36:23In fact, there was a time when Shuck, as he plays this no-huddle offense, he took a theater class.
36:28And when they were on the road, he would have to do his theater acting in front of Juwan Johnson
36:34to get his approval as he slides forward and gets a gain of four.
36:38So he'd have some kind of a role, and he'd say, well, how is this?
36:42And Johnson would have to be honest with him and say, yeah, I think that's pretty good,
36:45or I think he could do it differently.
36:46There's got to be video of that somewhere.
36:48I do like that Shuck not only was decisive and took off, but then slid.
36:52It's one of the things Kellen Moore said he can improve on is take better care of himself, protect himself.
36:58That and not taking sacks were the areas that Moore wanted to see him get better.
37:02They're down in two, and they're close.
37:04I don't know if they got it.
37:05I think they did.
37:06And Harrison Phillips made the tackle.
37:09It's Hall who made the run, and they didn't get about a yard shy.
37:12It's a full yard here.
37:15I think if you're Kellen Moore, this is a situation.
37:19He's bringing in a heavy set, Estime and Taysom Hill.
37:23I wouldn't be surprised if there's some type of direct snap to Hill,
37:27although Shuck is still out there.
37:30Well, fourth down.
37:31Great opportunity for the Jets.
37:33Look for the Jets to have some movement up front.
37:36Chris Harris, I bet you they angle or slant.
37:39Empty set is interesting.
37:40That would lead you to believe it's a run from Shuck.
37:44Here's Hill.
37:44He goes under center.
37:45It'll keep it.
37:46I don't know if he got it.
37:47His second effort.
37:48I think he stops.
37:51Jermaine Sherwood came diving forward to stop him,
37:54and they did stop him on fourth down.
37:57Jermaine Sherwood is having an unbelievable game.
38:01He timed that up and jumped over.
38:03Watch.
38:04He jumps over and grabs Taysom Hill and then pulls him back,
38:09lets the other guys get in there.
38:11He did not get the first down.
38:13What a stop by Chris Harris' Jets.
38:18Well, that is incredible by Sherwood.
38:22Chris Harris, you can see how he is.
38:23Stop him, stop him, stop him.
38:26Man, this is much different for this Jets defense
38:30than it was the last couple of weeks.
38:33And he's fired up, and he should be.
38:35That is big.
38:38Now, now the Jets will have excellent field position
38:41with 9.47 to play in the first half.
38:44We'll take a break and be back.
38:47Find the word, but you can see it on the sidelines already,
38:50even after that stop on fourth down.
38:53Going to first down for the Jets.
38:55Second time in New Orleans territory.
38:58To start a drive, Reese Hall gets about four yards.
39:01All right, so here's the reaction.
39:02We got some pushing going on after that play,
39:04but here's the reaction.
39:04Look at this.
39:05And look.
39:09That was not Darren Glenn over.
39:11That was awesome.
39:13Yep.
39:14He's saying, let's go.
39:16There's another word he's inserting in the middle.
39:18I'm not going to, but he is fired up.
39:20You know, you get that a little bit as a former player.
39:24He said it felt like the first time he played as a player,
39:29and he's kind of got that emotion in him.
39:30I love it.
39:31The Jets are feeding off of it.
39:32And he's second down.
39:34Flags come in.
39:36A little false start on the Jets.
39:41Full start.
39:43Offense number 18.
39:44Five-yard penalty.
39:46Second down.
39:48Well, on the Colts' first offensive drive is Super Bowl 41.
39:51Bears safety, Chris Harris,
39:53with this beautiful interception of Peyton Batting.
39:56Pass was attended from Marvin Harrison.
39:57It was his only postseason interception,
40:00and he was joyful after that.
40:03Well, think about that.
40:04Devin Hester took the opening kickoff back for a touchdown,
40:07then Chris Harris got interception.
40:10That was about it, though, for the Bears.
40:11That's true.
40:14That's second down.
40:14Hall again.
40:15Hall hit behind the line of scrimmage and take it down.
40:19Carl Granderson.
40:21He was there.
40:22So was Ridgeway, and Ridgeway lost his hat.
40:26Watch Ridgeway.
40:27Just one of these rotational de-tackles.
40:30He slants across the face of Simpson.
40:33Gets across the face, gets up inside, gets vertical,
40:36makes the play for a nice TFL.
40:38That is why depth matters along the defensive line.
40:42Speaking of depth on the defensive line,
40:44that's Touffele for the Jets getting carted off.
40:48Be very careful with the football here if you're cooked.
40:50Third and forever.
40:51Maybe at least make it into a fourth and decision time.
40:55Manageable.
40:55Blake locked down to three.
40:57Takes the snap.
40:57Pressure's coming.
40:58He's going to run, and he spins back inside Saints territory.
41:04Granderson was the first one there, and then Taylor tracked him down.
41:07If Granderson doesn't retrace and make that play, Brady Cook might have gone for a while.
41:15Watch top of your screen.
41:16Granderson changed the direction, retraces its call, just gets enough of him,
41:21and then Taylor able to take it down.
41:23That's heads-up play by Granderson not running too far upfield because I'm not sure Taylor is able to get Cook without Granderson slowing him down.
41:32Cook might have run for a while.
41:33Yeah, I don't even know if Brzee was going to get there as well.
41:35Well, Pettis back deep to receive this punt.
41:40Oh, this is a high one.
41:41This is a good punt.
41:43Fair catch called by Pettis, and he'll grab it at the nine-yard line.
41:477-17 to play here in the first half.
41:50Tyler's shot going back to work when we return.
41:53Coach Cowher, for all the latest NFL scores and highlights, that's all coming up on the Verizon Halftime Report.
42:02You know, here in New Orleans, there's always folks dressed up, but during the Christmas season, they take it to another level.
42:08I think more people dress up here than any other state.
42:10I would agree with that.
42:12Maybe Las Vegas.
42:14But first down after a good punt by McNamara.
42:18Shuck.
42:20That is a beautiful pass.
42:22It's complete to Austin, and boy, that gives them some breathing room, big time.
42:27You called it.
42:28Watch this frozen rope.
42:30Top of your screen, in-breaking route, and when Shuck knows where he's going with the ball and steps into it, he has an absolute gun.
42:39But first down, dancing in the pocket, out of the backfield.
42:43Estimates.
