00:00 Hi Emily, so when did you become responsible for Kenny's handling?
00:05 So I officially started at the beginning of May and we've been hanging out since then which has been fantastic.
00:10 And did you grow up seeing Kenny?
00:12 I did, I did. So I saw Kenny all through school.
00:15 You know he saw me when I was a little tyke and now we get to work together, it's a dream come true.
00:20 And what sort of things do you talk to the kids about with Kenny?
00:24 So we love to talk about how to stay okay.
00:26 We love to talk about how to stay okay on the road and stay okay in the community.
00:30 Making sure we're making safe, kind and healthy choices every day and as well as how to stay okay online.
00:36 And Kenny, how have you found working with a new person compared to earlier?
00:41 Well it's always hard, I always miss my friends but Emily's been great and we've had a really great time together working this last month.
00:49 And you've seen lots of kids already together?
00:52 That's right, this month we've seen over 1800 children.
00:56 Really, in a month? Wow, that's amazing.
00:58 That's right, lots of schools.
00:59 And what do you think is the most important thing you say to kids, Kenny?
01:04 I think all of our safety messages are important but making sure that we're looking after one another and making safe, kind and healthy choices.
01:13 And how long do you think you'll be doing this for, Kenny?
01:17 I'll be doing it for as long as I can. We'll always come back to schools.
01:21 Is there something you'd like to say to the children of Canberra?
01:24 Boys and girls, what we want you to remember is that even though I've got a new best friend and a new handler in Emily,
01:30 we will always come back to your school and we will always be here to keep you safe and teach you how to stay safe.
01:37 And I absolutely can't wait to get out into schools with you, Kenny.
01:40 It's going to be fantastic.
01:42 Can't wait to see so many smiling boys and girls' faces and making sure that we're keeping that magic of the Constable Kenny program alive.
