Toyota legends on the Nürburgring Nordschleife

Around 200,000 spectators at the edge of the track formed six new and historic Toyota sports cars - all painted in red and stuck with white letters on the roof - the word" TOYOTA ", they took different formations and drove depending on the section of track in column, row and cross shape.

Especially the two Toyota 2000 GT caught the eye of the spectators: The 1967-1970 with 351 copies built, very exclusive sports car is the sports car icon of Toyota par excellence and pioneer of all other sports vehicles of the Japanese manufacturer. Only a few vehicles of the model are in Europe, two of them are an integral part of the Toyota Collection in Cologne and were on Saturday at the formation ride on the 20.8-kilometer Nürburgring Nordschleife to admire.

The two 2000 GT were accompanied by the Toyota Supra - the no less legendary sports coupe, which was first launched in the 1970s as the top model of the Celica series and established itself as an independent sports car with the internally named MA70 third generation. With the fourth generation, which was produced from 1993 to 2002, an era ended temporarily - until this year the long-awaited successor was presented.
