Texas Firefighters Battle Dust Devils at Wildfire

Dust devils have been spotted around the firefight against the McDannald Fire in western Texas.Kyle Fire Department posted video on Wednesday, May 9, showing a dust devil in the Fort Davis Mountains, and the Texas A&M Forest Service posted video showing a dust devil from Monday.The wildfire near Fort Davis stood at 19,043 acres on Wednesday and was 69 percent contained.Texas A&M Forest Service officials said dust devils near a wildfire are not a welcome site. “Dust devils are able to spread firebrands from within containment lines to areas outside of the line, starting new fires.”This video also shows a water drop by a helicopter near firefighters.
