Ethiopia: Lion Protection Program | Global 3000

On their migration from eastern to central Africa, lions have settled in a mountain cloud forest in southern Ethiopia.
Researchers are thrilled, the residents less so, because lions have preyed on their livestock at night. The nature protection organization NABU has documented some of them and is trying to provide them a home in UNESCO's Kafa Biosphere Reserve in south-western Ethiopia. Just under a dozen of the threatened carnivores now live here and seem to feel quite content in Kafa. For more Global 3000 go to http://www.dw.de/program/global-3000/s-11487-9798
