PAGASA: ‘Karding’ maintains strength, continues to move westward over PH sea

Tropical storm Karding maintained its strength while traversing the Philippine sea, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). This weather disturbance is not yet “directly affecting” any part of the country. However, as it nears the Philippine landmass, it may bring rains, particularly in northern and central Luzon beginning Saturday, Sept. 24.

In its 11 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the center of Karding was last spotted 1,320 kilometers (km) east of northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph), gustiness of up to 80 kph, and it is still moving westward slowly.
