American web users have been posting under the #PrayingForFortHood hashtag following April 2nd`s deadly shooting at the Fort Hood military base in Texas. Shocked citizens have been posting messages to social network paying tribute to the victims and voicing their sorrow as the US mourns yet another shooting tragedy.
 
ALGERIA: WEB USERS MOCK ABDELAZIZ BOUTEFLIKA
With campaigning for Algeria`s April 17th presidential election well underway, web users have been having all sorts of fun poking fun at Abdelaziz Bouteflika who has been in power for the past 15 years and is hoping to be re-elected for a fourth presidential term. The 77 year old head of state has been the butt of all manner of online jokes, with many saying he is no longer capable of governing the country.
His state of health appears to have inspired Algeria`s online comedians who have been producing parodies of his rare appearances on television. Satirical clips like this one which has been doing the rounds on Facebook over the past few days, poking fun at last week`s meeting between the president and the Algerian army`s chief of staff Ahmed Gaïd Salah and depicting a very weak Bouteflika, making no sense when he speaks.
Another initiative designed to highlight his absence from the campaigning; this Facebook game entitled “Find Boutef”. You have to turn over two matching photos of various Algerian politicians to slowly reveal a photo of Abdelaziz Bouteflika. Players have a challenge ahead of them however as despite the...
