If you are chronically tired, then you should watch this video right now: http://www.howtochangeyourownbatteries.com/go/SAMe

In this video I will discuss
SAMe Synergy and Interactions
Synergy
Folic acid, B6 and B12 are synergistic with SAMe for cardiovascular diseases
Fish oil or other omega-3 fatty acid sources are synergistic with SAMe for brain health, neurodegeneration and depression
Vitamins C and E increase SAMe s ability to fight oxidative stress
Selegiline (also called deprenyl) plus SAMe has been used for Parkinson s disease
Also L-dopa, again for Parkinson s
N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) and acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC) together with SAMe can enhance cognition
Interactions:
First of all,
DO NOT combine SAMe with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors
These are SSRI-antidepressants such as:
MAO-A inhibitors or St. John s Wort
DO NOT combine SAMe with dextromethorphan,
Meperidine, pentazocine, cyclobenzaprine or tramadol
DO NOT combine SAMe with beta blockers
In short,
DO NOT combine SAMe with any substances which increase serotonin unless monitored by a physician
Serotonin levels can be increased:
1) by direct supplementation,
2) By increasing secretion and
3) by decreasing serotonin inactivation
Excess serotonin can be fatal
That being said,
There are NO cases of death or overdosing with SAMe,
But you should never exceed 1.6g/day
(8x 200mg tablets)
By comparison, your body makes about 6-8 grams/day - that s 30 to 80 SAMe tablets
SAMe is comparably free of side effects compared to conventional depression medication
It does NOT cause: weight gain, panic
attacks or severe gastrointestinal distress
Remember that pregnant and breastfeeding women should not take SAMe
SAMe should not be combined with Valium, Xanax or other benzodiazepine drugs
Alcohol - taking SAMe before binge drinking lowers blood alcohol compared to controls
Sidenote
A well functioning brain is a happy brain
SAMe is known to improve brain function
And this can directly influence emotional well being how good you feel
If you are a relatively depressed person and you start feeling more chipper
This may likely be an improvement in the functioning of your brain
