Costa Concordia captain appears in court

The captain of the shipwrecked Costa Concordia cruise liner has appeared at a pre-trial court hearing in Italy.

Francesco Schettino told judges that he acted on company orders when he sailed past the rocky coastline of Gigilio Island, Tuscany.

The turn went horribly wrong and the ship ran aground, leaving 32 people dead.
