Hmong refugees sent back to Laos -- July 4 2008

Thailand has started deporting thousands of Hmong refugees to Laos.

The Thai government says they are illegal migrants, but the refugees say they fled political persecution. Human Rights groups say they have major concerns for their safety in the communist country.

Al Jazeera's Hannah Belcher travelled to Laos to inspect the conditions of Hmong who have just returned.
