Grouper's start-up founder Guo exposed as huckster

http://www.nma.tv As a Newsweek intern, Jerry Guo regularly scammed free flights and free stuff by promising coverage. After leaving he set out for the start-up world. After being rejected by a start-up incubator, Guo and fellow entrepreneur Michael Waxman took the travel stipend to fund a group social networking site. Guo's journalistic 'experience' came in handy. He pretended to be a reporter to get a lengthy interview with a successful competitor. The duo then launched Grouper, claiming it is already profitable. They say it uses a custom algorithm to match users based on their Facebook profiles. It seems a lot of marginal concepts are generating a lot of start-up buzz. Are we headed for another tech bubble?
