Marching his way into German cinemas with a catty purr is 'Puss in Boots' - the animated fairytale featuring the voices of Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek.
The pair were in Berlin on Tuesday for the premiere of the movie that brought them to work together once again.
At the film's press conference, Salma Hayek paid her co-star the highest of compliments:
SOUNDBITE Salmas Hayek, actress saying (English):
"Every time I did a movie with Antonio, my life changed and my career went really well. First 'Desperado' then I ask him to do me a favour and help me with 'Frida'. 'Desperado' started my career, 'Frida' gave me a nomination and changed my career and now, just when I thought my career was going to die, here comes Antonio to save me again."
'Puss in Boots' - a spinoff of "Shrek 2" sees Puss, voiced by Antonio Banderas, team up with declawed thief Kitty Softpaws, voiced by Salma Hayek to spoil the evil efforts of Jack and Jill who are looking to plant magic beans and steal a Golden Goose.
Asked if he could reproduce his feline sounds, Banderas obliged gracefully:
SOUNDBITE Antonio Banderas, actor, saying (English):
"Ah yeah baby, I can do that for you... (makes sound which "puss" makes when drinking milk) Lets do it. He does something like that. Are you happy now?"
'Puss in Boots' includes romance, adventure, revenge and some sizzling cat flamenco. As 'leading cat', Banderas once again fullfils his image as one of the sexiest men in Hollywood.
But long-term friend Salma Hayek can't quite get herself to see him as that:
SOUNDBITE Salmas Hayek, actress saying (English):
"You know I've known him for so long, that sexy, that's not what I see in him, it's like: do you think your sister is sexy or your brother? But I hear everybody talks about that, even you and you are a guy and you're talking about that. Everybody, every time they talk about Antonio, they talk about that."
'Puss in Boots' will be released in cinemas across Germany on December 8.
