TV reconstruction of Yeates murder filmed

Joanna Yeates' final steps have been filmed for a television programme reconstruction in a bid to catch her killer.

The landscape architect was last seen on the December 17 by colleagues at the Bristol Ram pub. She stopped for food in Waitrose and Tesco before returning to her flat in the Clifton area. Her body was found on Christmas Day in an icy lane, three miles from her flat.

Her mother, Theresa Yeates, had offered to play her daughter, but an actress was used instead.

The BBC Crimewatch re-enactment was filmed with the help of detectives investigating the murder.

This follows desperate pleas from her parents saying their daughter probably knew her killer.

The couple, from Ampfield, Hampshire, asked: "Do you know someone who has been, somehow, justifying her being killed? Please help us identify the killer. Jo was probably acquainted with her killer."

They also called on other "armchair detectives" to think about whether they had information which could help with the investigation.
