A factory fashion market was held in Brno in the Czech Republic over the weekend.

Many fashion designers and craftspeople there use unique methods and materials to produce their trademark fashion items. Organizers say the goal of the market is to create an independent fashion scene in Brno.

Marie Novotna is a jewelry designer from Brno.

[Marie Novotna, Jewelry Designer]:
"I started making objects from small beads then I travelled and lived in the style of North American Indians. So at that time I learned to make Indian embroidery. I also like the western fashion of the 19th century."

Marie's interest began at the age of 12, and over the years she has developed her own style.

[Marie Novotna, Jewelry Designer]:
"I work a lot with metal and glass, I find small Czech factories and use their unusual materials in the design."

Matus Kucharovic from the Slovak Republic came with his unique wallets.

[Matus Kucharovic, Wallet Designer]:
"I started a year ago. I have put together some good designs from my friends who are artists. I wanted to present them to the public so it wouldn't be forgotten."

Visitors were also enjoying the market atmosphere.

[Market Visitor]:
"It's my first time at this kind of fair. And I really like it because I really like young designers. And I think we young people should support them. Things are very, very good and you can get unique things for a nice price."

The great atmosphere is enriched by live music and fashion shows where some of the presenting designers showed off their everyday fashions.
