Can someone "escape" from the domestic (vicious) cycle of abuse...?
Less than 1% of cases occur at the hands of a stranger in a dirty raincoat..about 50% of offenders are the parents...
For non parental incest and nonviolent incidences of pedophilia, the child knows the offender (eg, neighbor, relative, family friend, or local individual with authority) an estimated 60% to 70% of the time.
