Fort Lauderdale Shen Yun Audience Commen H.K Cancellation

Shen Yun Performing Arts wrapped up its shows in Fort Lauderdale, Florida earlier this week. Next NTD's correspondent asks some audience members at the show for their opinions about Shen Yun being forced to cancel their seven sold-out Hong Kong shows.

Artist Linda Jarnagin saw Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, earlier this week. She shared her thoughts after hearing that Shen Yun's Hong Kong shows had to be cancelled because several members of the tech crew had their visas denied.

[Linda Jarnagin, Painter]:
“I think they should apologize and I think they should take a look at what this is. They should realize that this is something that the world is embracing. Why aren’t they embracing it?”

[Michael DiPietro, Councilman]:
"To the Hong Kong Government I would say to open your doors to the Chinese people and to the rest of the world."

Chinese School Principal Betty Lee says the Hong Kong Government should reconsider its decision.

[Betty Lee, Chinese School Principal]: (Chinese female)
“I feel very sorry. It’s probably because their [the HK government] views are too subjective that they refused this kind of opportunity for cultural exchange. Of course I hope everyone can have an even brighter heart and accept different voices and artistic realms.

[Terry Mori, Fashion Consultant]:
“I think everybody in the world should see beauty and truth. I believe that it should never be hidden. Let people make up their minds on what they believe it to be.”

[Vicky Henderson, Painter]:
“I think they should try to have the show there definitely. It’s well worth seeing.”
