Hollywood star and goodwill ambassador of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Angelina Jolie, met India's Junior Foreign Minister Anand Sharma in national capital New Delhi on Sunday (November 05).
Jolie who met Myanmar and Sikh Afghan refugees on Saturday lauded New Delhi's role in handling refugees over the years.
"We spoke about refugee of course and yesterday I had the privilege of meeting with Afghan refugees and refugees of Burma. I have also, since I have been here, spent time with India people and we spoke about the concerns for disabled people, children, orphans. The wonderful thing that I have learned since I have been in India is there are many needs for your own people and yet you have all been so gracious and been so open to many many refugees over the years. I think probably the largest influx of refugees that may be as anybody has ever handled over the years,"
