Drone Show Sets European Record With 3097 Drones At Festival In Matosinhos, Portugal

Big crowds are not the only thing that can fill the air at a festival.

Against the dark sky, hundreds of pinpoint lights rise and spread into a wide formation.

“In Matosinhos, Titan Beach hosted one of the most anticipated moments of the Air Invictus Festival, a choreographed light drone show that was part of the opening ceremony. The show aimed to break the European record for the highest number of drones flying simultaneously, which previously stood at 3,050. And it succeeded. A new European record was set, with 3,097 drones performing in synchronized flight, creating a spectacular aerial display,” the filmer, Aline, told WooGlobe.

The scale of the choreography turns a technical display into something that reads like a shared landmark in the sky.

The scene settles back into darkness as the formations fade from view.
