00:00Doc, if you wouldn't mind, as we close out with you tonight, reviewing a little bit to yesterday,
00:05fortunately, we did not see a ton of big injuries in the National Football League.
00:09The quarterback issue, of course, concussion, that's a pretty clear-cut issue for the Minnesota Vikings with Kyler Murray.
00:15I am going to pivot over to the guy who maybe had the best first half of any wide receiver
00:20in the NFL last week.
00:22Everyone's so excited about this.
00:24Lamar Jackson to Zay Flowers connection.
00:29I thought, Doc, correct me if I'm wrong, a little bizarre reporting saying that he had a hamstring issue
00:35and then, of course, everyone weighing in on what that could potentially be.
00:39The Ravens are not going to give us any good information.
00:42They're saying maybe just some cramping.
00:45I would love your opinion as to what was said initially, then some of the reporting, and now what they're
00:51saying right now.
00:52I feel like a lot of misinformation out there.
00:55Well, there's no question he came into the season with a hamstring injury from the training camp, that he was
01:01on the injury report.
01:03Of course, they don't specify side, but the assumption is he re-aggravated that same hamstring.
01:08Now, it's hard on video to see if he pulls up right before he hurts it significantly or whether it's
01:13mild, but here's the thing once again.
01:16You don't want to turn a short-term hamstring into many more weeks out.
01:21So, with the score, it was an easy decision to have Zay Flowers out in the second half of the
01:26game.
01:26I saw the rap sheet report that if this were the playoffs, he would have gone back in.
01:31If there were the playoffs and it was tighter down, he would have gone back in.
01:34If there was a playoffs, they were up by three scores, he would not have gone back in.
01:38Of course, if it's the Super Bowl, it's a different story.
01:40You're all in.
01:41There's no next week to deal with.
01:43Look, Zay Flowers, I think, is unlikely to play this next week.
01:47Why?
01:47You can't turn a minor hamstring aggravation into six weeks or more out, right?
01:52He's a needed weapon.
01:53And, of course, Jacoby Lane with his wrist fracture is likely going to miss time as well.
01:58But I will deliver some good news.
02:01Everyone saw Kyler Murray down on the ground, hitting the head and posturing with the clenched fist and straightened arms.
02:09That's a very scary sight.
02:11But let me tell you something.
02:12As scary as that is, that obviously meant he was ruled out for this game on Sunday.
02:18But that does not rule him out for next week.
02:21It's all about how he recovers and the exam going forward.
02:25So he does not have a history of concussions.
02:29So it does not for sure rule him out next week.
02:32So I'm just giving some good news there.
02:34But as I see it, Carson Wentz won the game.
02:37The Vikings are likely to roll with Carson Wentz with a whole week at the number one spot, taking the
02:45number one first team reps, as opposed to Kyler Murray, still new to the program, not taking first team reps
02:51and starting week two.
02:52Either way, I think it's going to be Carson Wentz this week against the Bears.
02:57Real quick here, Doc, before we let you go, Xavier Worthy, obviously, with the shoulder injury, had a high ankle
03:05injury, had surgery in January.
03:07Any concerns with him coming into this game?
03:11Well, you know, that's the thing about preseason.
03:13We don't really get to see guys, so we can't really see how healthy they are.
03:17We're relying on media reports and coach speak, right?
03:22And there are no official injury reports in the preseason.
03:25And don't forget, Rasheed Rice with his rehab in jail time with that second surgery issue.
03:30We haven't seen him yet either.
03:32So there's a lot to unveil here in week one.
