25:26and we're going to send it down to Kimmy Chacks
25:28who is with head coach Andy Reid.
25:29Hey coach, you had an opportunity to see some guys
25:32get in for a series like Trey Smith and Rasheed Rice.
25:34How important was that this evening?
25:35Yeah, I thought it was real important.
25:36I mean, they haven't had a chance to play in a game.
25:39They got themselves back into practice
25:40and this is a good thing.
25:42You get your juices going for a game,
25:44different than practice,
25:45and it'll help them down the road here.
25:47On the other side of the ball, defensively,
25:49a lot of power, a lot of speed,
25:51some strip sacks, some forced fumbles.
25:52What do you like out of those guys?
25:53Yeah, it was some of the young guys that did it
25:55and I like that.
25:57And as hard as these guys can make
25:59for Veach to make these cuts coming up,
26:02I think it's important.
26:03It helps us as a team.
26:04Appreciate it, coach.
26:05Thanks so much.
26:05Thank you, Kimmy.
26:06Thank you to head coach Andy Reid.
26:09Entertaining first half.
26:11Chiefs lead 6-3.
26:12We're going to send it to the studio after the break.
26:14Trent and I will rejoin you
26:15right before the start of the third quarter.
26:24This is nice weather compared to Indiana.
26:27It's probably like 9 degrees right now.
26:30Quarter Chiefs leading the Seahawks 6-3.
26:34Hello again, everyone.
26:35He's Trent Amari.
26:36Trent, what did you like in the first half?
26:37You know, we were joking about it, but it's serious.
26:40It is the most exciting 6-3 football game
26:43that you could think of.
26:43We had special teams plays.
26:45We had a big return.
26:46We had turnovers.
26:47We had a long drive.
26:49You know, it was a little bit of everything.
26:51But I think the thing that jumps out the most
26:52was the running game that the Chiefs
26:54and the balance, right?
26:55The play call, and we talked about that in the first half.
26:57The run-pass balance that they had.
27:00But really, the run game, the way they've established it.
27:03Over 100 yards rushing in the first half.
27:05Averaging just under 5 yards per carry.
27:08And it was a good mixture of all three of the running backs.
27:11And Kelsey getting a little excited over on the sideline
27:15when he sees a tight end, a fellow tight end,
27:17with a hurdle move.
27:19But there's those numbers we were just talking about.
27:20101 rushing yards for the Chiefs is what stood out to me.
27:24What great offensive line play.
27:26Nice job by the guys up front.
27:29Really good job.
27:30Great to see the ground game look so solid.
27:35Henderson and Foster are deep for Seattle.
27:39Harrison Bunker to kick it off.
27:41I really did want to see that 67-year pupil.
27:44I did too.
27:45At the end of the half.
27:45See if he could get back-to-back kicks like that.
27:48But in an opponent, intentional grounding,
27:50didn't have an opportunity.
27:51And here we go in the second half.
27:54It'll be Henderson from his 9-yard line.
27:57Across the 25, gets across the 30,
28:00and brought down a flag comes in from behind the play.
28:04I think they're going to back this up.
28:05And let's go down to the field and check in with Matt.
28:08Hey, guys.
28:08We talked about how special the 2022 draft class was, right?
28:12And how that helped us get to three straight Super Bowls.
28:14And how we're hoping this draft class
28:15can be kind of similar to that one.
28:17Well, I'm really encouraged watching guys like R. Mason Thomas,
28:20Emmitt Johnson go out here in the third preseason game
28:22making plays, playing with energy.
28:24It gives me confidence that maybe this class
28:26can be like that one.
28:28Thank you, Matt.
28:30Seattle with the football.
28:32First to 10 from their own 18-yard line.
28:35Well, and to back up what Matt was just saying,
28:37we haven't talked about Kennedy yet.
28:39Defensive back, that was the fourth pick overall.
28:41Cyrus Allen, we've touched on a little bit.
28:42Nussmeyer was a part of that as well.
28:44So, a very deep draft this season.
28:48Milrow off to the races.
28:51And he picks up a few yards on first down.
28:55Well, this draft focused a lot on the defensive side of the ball.
28:58You go back to 2022, you get Trent McDuffie and George Carlopouls,
29:02these guys who came in and won the Super Bowls.
29:04This year, two guys in the first round.
29:06Mansoor Delane, who they moved up to get at six overall.
29:09And then, courtesy of the Trent McDuffie trade,
29:12they get Peter Woods at 29.
29:14Certainly hoping that the guys in 26 have a similar impact to the guys in 22.
29:20But another great draft class will continue to document that here in the second half.
29:25Right nowhere to go.
29:26Loss on the play.
29:29That's Marcus Harris, 68, making the play.
29:32He's a guy who I think is going to make the team.
29:34He's made a lot of plays this preseason.
29:36Well, watch, he just shoots the gap.
29:37He's able to get past the guard and get into the backfield.
29:41Great wrap-up.
29:42No more for the back to cut back.
29:45McDonald was there even if he had.
29:47But you're right.
29:49What an excellent camp and preseason for Marcus Harris.
29:52He played his college ball at Auburn.
29:58That's where he finished up.
30:01Former seventh-round pick of Houston in 2024.
30:05Dillon Milrow, blitz is coming.
30:07And Milrow able to get rid of it and not take the sack
30:10because the pressure was coming there.
30:14That's Cam Arnold coming up there, number 53.
30:1853 is going to be the one.
30:19Watch as he hesitates and then he comes around.
30:21He's coming clean.
30:26Good job not giving up the lane.
30:28Watch how he hesitates a little bit.
30:30He was afraid of getting juked
30:31and then all of a sudden you're giving up a big game.
30:34But good job with the pressure.
30:37Good job with the coverage.
30:38Go hand in hand and now forcing a punt.
30:40Michael Dixon to punt.
30:42Nico Remigio stands at his own 30.
30:45This is a towering boot.
30:47Remigio back to his own 22.
30:51He's going to cut it back.
30:52Get across the 30.
30:53And Remigio stopped at the 34-yard line.
30:58Crown Royal, the official whiskey of the Kansas City Chiefs,
31:01is bringing back the Royal Rig for Season 3.
31:04See it in action at Arrowhead Stadium on December 21st.
31:08Go to crownroyal.com to see where else the Royal Rig is stopping this NFL season.
31:13Please drink responsibly.
31:15And, Trent, I've got to admit I'm a little sad.
31:17That's my final Crown Royal read.
31:20Oh, I'm going to miss that next summer, next summer.
31:24Here we go.
31:25Chiefs with the football.
31:27Brashard Smith will be the running back to start this series.
31:30Nussmeyer remains the quarterback.
31:35Nussmeyer, 12 of 20, 126 yards in the early interception.
31:41It's Brashard Smith gets into space and picks up the first down.
31:48Smith, one of three running backs who've been very productive tonight.
31:52Well, that offensive line just pushing him back.
31:55He doesn't even get touched until he's seven yards upfield.
31:58And that was just an arm tackle that hits him around the shoulder pads.
32:02But we've emphasized it coming out of the first half,
32:06just the run game and what they've done,
32:08that offensive line taking it to him on that play there.
32:1112-yard carry for Brashard Smith.
32:14He remains in the game.
32:15He's got six carries for 36 yards.
32:17He's got the football again.
32:19Trying to bounce to the outside.
32:21Breaks a tackle.
32:22So instead of a loss on the play,
32:24he gets it into Seahawks' territory to the 49-yard line,
32:27chilling off that speed.
32:29Jamie Sheriff pushed him out of bounds.
32:32Well, Polle was on the outside and was kicking him out.
32:34And I thought when Smith went to bounce it,
32:37I was like, oh, no, they've got leverage to the outside.
32:39But his speed was able to rip through that arm tackle
32:42and pick up a positive game.
32:45And Shard Smith spent three years at Miami as a wide receiver
32:49in his final year of eligibility at SMU as a running back.
32:53Nussmire, the throw is high, and that was almost picked off.
32:56Cyrus Allen, the intended target.
33:01We talked about Cyrus Allen with general manager Brett Beach.
33:05This is a guy who's normally going to make that catch
33:07because he's known for making tough catches.
33:09Andre Fuller, they're in coverage.
33:12Yeah, but that's a tough one.
33:14You know, we have seen him make that catch in the preseason.
33:16He had a catch like that earlier in the preseason
33:19and came down with it.
33:20But Nussmire needs to get that ball down a little bit.
33:23He's fortunate that that wasn't intercepted,
33:24but has an opportunity here to pick up a first down.
33:34No blitz, but we've got movement before the start of the play.
33:38It'll be a false start.
33:40False start.
33:41Offense number 79.
33:44Third down.
33:46Issa Pole guilty there.
33:51Issa made a big impression when he first got to the Chiefs' last training camp in 2025
33:58in Hayward, California.
34:02Spent some time on the Chiefs' practice squad last year.
34:05He's a big guy, 6'7", 319 pounds.
34:12Now third and nine.
34:18Looks like the blitz is coming.
34:20Yeah, they're showing pressure.
34:21And here they come.
34:22Nussmire rolls to his right.
34:24Throws.
34:25Allen's got it.
34:26And a Chiefs' first down.
34:28Cyrus Allen makes the play.
34:31Well, great recognition by Nussmire,
34:33realizing the pressure was coming from his left.
34:36And they're unblocked.
34:37There's one person you can't block.
34:38So if you're going to escape, escape out to the right.
34:41The right side, they drop the defensive end underneath coverage.
34:45So he's responsible for trying to cover Allen
34:49and just doesn't have the speed
34:51as Nussmire lays it out to the flat over the top of him.
34:54First catch tonight for Allen goes for 12 yards.
34:57It's Prashard Smith.
34:57And he just slips and falls and tries to get up.
35:00But he was touched while he was on the ground.
35:03And a late flag comes in.
35:07They're going to put that flag right at the 35-yard line.
35:16There is no foul on the play for a low block.
35:21Reset the play climb.
35:2340 seconds.
35:24Thank you.
35:26Let's talk running backs, Trent.
35:28And we had a chance to talk with offense coordinator Eric Bien-Aimé,
35:32who kind of gave us comments on all these guys.
35:34We know all about Walker.
35:35Di Mercado seems like a great third-down back option.
35:38And Brashard Smith and Emmitt Johnson have both really stood out in the preseason.
35:42Yeah, the three of them, Di Mercado, Smith, and Johnson,
35:44have really done a good job, especially here tonight behind this offensive line.
35:48We know what the expectations are for Walker.
35:51But with that type of depth, you can utilize these backs in all different facets of the game.
35:55And how they're going to contribute on special teams is an important part of it.
36:01DeMarco Murray there in the white hat.
36:04There's DeMarco Murray.
36:05John, he was an outstanding running back in the National Football League.
36:08He was coaching in college, now the Chiefs running back's coach.
36:12The players have raved about him and what he's brought to the running back room.
36:17Brashard Smith, who's really had an impact on this drive,
36:20I thought it was interesting what Coach Bien-Aimé said about him.
36:22He said, just a huge jump from a year ago,
36:25and he really accepted that he had to get better in pass pro and put on some weight.
36:28And he looks thicker out there.
36:32First charge.
36:35Yeah.
36:3630 seconds.
36:38Well, I think we all know you're not going to play in Andy Reid's offense
36:41if you're not willing to step up and pass protection.
36:44And what did Xavier say?
36:47Bien-Aimé is a great motivator.
36:50Good word choice.
36:52All right.
36:53We're coming right back to Arrowhead.
36:58Andy Reid enters this season with 279 career regular season wins.
37:03That's fourth all-time behind coaches like Bill Belichick,
37:06George Hallis, and Don Shula.
37:08At this pace, and with the contract just signed here in Kansas City,
37:12he's a real threat to break that all-time wins record
37:14and really submit himself, guys, as a Hall of Fame coach.
37:18Thank you very much, Kimmy.
37:19I think if he doesn't coach another down, he's a fourth-ballot Hall of Famer.
37:22But why not make the resume look even better?
37:25Nussmeyer, and he'll just get rid of that on third down.
37:29All right.
37:30The top four coaches with the most wins.
37:32Don Shula at 347 wins.
37:36Then you've got Bill Belichick at 333 wins.
37:41George Hallis, 324.
37:45And then Andy Reid, 307.
37:49Any time you're mentioned with those three legends of coaching,
37:55Andy has obviously established that Hall of Fame career
37:59and just adding to it.
38:0158 yards, Harrison Bunker.
38:04That one's drifted on him a little bit, and he pushes it to the right.
38:09So no good on the field goal, except it's going to be Seattle football
38:12in a three-point game.
38:1410-22 to go, third quarter.
38:16More football coming up here at Arrowhead.
38:19I think it was the first black basketball player in Minnesota.
38:22You know, we had some guys who could play basketball.
38:25They wanted to say they had the opportunity to play
38:29against the Kansas City Chiefs players.
38:32If you can beat Bobby Bell, you know,
38:34you can go around and tell everybody, huh?
38:35But that's not going to happen.
38:40Art, if you are looking at me, I am not wearing a costume.
38:44This is actually a real Chiefs jersey just for a different sport.
38:47It's a sport of basketball.
38:49Now, back in the day, the Chiefs founder, Lamar Hunt,
38:51actually created a Chiefs basketball league
38:54to help the guys earn some extra money in the offseason.
38:57It was also, of course, an opportunity to raise money for charity.
39:01Now, they played for almost 30 years all over the region,
39:03and then the whole thing kind of just somehow vanished
39:06from the history books, but not anymore.
39:08You guys saw a little bit of a peek of it during halftime,
39:10but now it's a full-fledged documentary.
39:12It's titled The Lost Game,
39:14and it's streaming free on the Chiefs' YouTube channel right now.
39:17Trust me, you do not want to miss it.
39:18It's full of Hall of Famers and Chiefs legends
39:21throughout the years,
39:22and I got to give an extra special shout-out
39:24to our spotter up in the booth, Mike Fox.
39:26He actually made these jerseys for myself
39:28and the rest of our on-air crew.
39:29They're custom with our names and everything.
39:31A really fun ode to Chiefs history.
39:34That is awesome.
39:35Great stuff, Kimmy.
39:36Yes, go and check out the lost game.
39:39Boy, Foxy with multiple mentions.
39:41Oh, yeah.
39:42Thanks for the jersey, Foxy.
39:43Thank you, Foxy.
39:47Milo in the screen game gets it to right and right.
39:51Big play for the Seahawks.
39:52Gets it to the 32-yard line.
39:56Murray McNeil hustling from his defensive tackle position
39:59to get down there and make the stop.
40:02That was a lot of patience on Milo's part.
40:05That was a very slow-developing screen,
40:07and obviously with effectiveness
40:10as they pick up the first down.
40:12Jalen Milo has looked really good.
40:14He has looked, in total command of the offense,
40:169 of 13, 138 yards.
40:25A little trickery here.
40:28It's Henderson and Henderson.
40:29That's well defended.
40:31McAllister there, 34, makes the play.
40:34He was not fooled.
40:36Well, and I agree with you, Ari, about Milo.
40:39I think he's had a really good game.
40:40Oh, they got a holding.
40:41Offense number 46.
40:45I think Milo's played outstanding just in his second year.
40:48I believe the backup position is locked up right here.
40:54You see Cochran getting turned around sideways.
40:59McDonnell getting turned around sideways.
41:04So that backs up the Seahawks to the Chiefs' 40-yard line.
41:08Gilbert McDonnell, another one of those tryout guys,
41:11who's ended up making the roster.
41:12He was a tryout guy last offseason.
41:19First and 20.
41:22Milo with time.
41:24And on target, Ricky White III makes the catch.
41:27Another good throw from Jalen Milo.
41:31The knock on Milo coming out was that he was more of a dual threat guy.
41:34They didn't know if he could be a pocket passer at least tonight.
41:37He's looked very comfortable in the pocket.
41:39He has.
41:40And when he's been standing in the pocket,
41:42most of his throws have been going over the middle.
41:43He's not afraid to thread it in between the seams
41:46and push the ball up the field.
41:48That time getting it to the outside on the curl route.
41:50But I think he's looked really comfortable out there.
41:5310 of 14 for 139 yards.
41:59Second down.
42:01Milo under center.
42:03He gives it to Wright.
42:04Wright looking for space.
42:06Has a little bit of room.
42:07And it keeps on working.
42:09And he's close to a first down.
42:11He's going to be just shy of it.
42:15I know you had the Seahawks a few times last year, Trent.
42:18You're familiar with them.
42:19You know, when they won the Super Bowl with the other group,
42:21with the Legion of Boom, they had a guy, they were kind of brash.
42:25They really wanted to bring it to the other team.
42:28This group is just a chill group of guys.
42:30And what Coach McDonald has done, they've really got something working in Seattle.
42:34They rotate a lot of bodies.
42:36They bring a lot of pressure.
42:37They kind of have taken on the personality of Mike McDonald
42:40in terms of there's not a lot of brashness.
42:43And you know what?
42:44Just do your job and get after it.
42:46Be physical at the point of attack.
42:48And that's really what they've done.
42:53Goes against Milo.
42:55Got Milo with a head nod or a simulated snap
42:57to try and get him on the hard count.
42:58All right.
42:59Last four Super Bowls.
43:00Chiefs win two of them.
43:01And the last Super Bowl, the Seahawks.
43:06Seahawks are very much going to be in the mix in the NFC.
43:09And the Chiefs and the Seahawks will get together in the regular season.
43:13Pretty rare that two of the preseason opponents,
43:15the Chiefs are going to play in the regular season.
43:17Yeah, that doesn't happen very often.
43:19Usually your preseason opponents,
43:21you're not going to see in the regular season.
43:23But you're right.
43:23Two of the Rams and the Seahawks, they'll see again.
43:26They pick up the blitz.
43:27And Milo stays in there and completes it downfield.
43:31Breaking tackles is Emmanuel Henderson.
43:33The ball comes out late.
43:35They're going to mark them down at the 1.
43:36There are multiple flags on the plate at the 15-yard line.
43:44Well, once again, good job by Muro buying time and standing in there and making a big throw.
43:48But we'll see what this penalty is.
43:54As you said, Ari, there's at least three that I can see out on the field.
43:57Pass interference.
43:58On the defense, that penalty is declined.
44:01First down.
44:04All right.
44:05With all the flags out there, we're going to have multiple penalties.
44:07Yeah, I was going to say, all three guys were looking at the same guy.
44:09Let's see.
44:14Well, there's Milo buying time, sliding in the pocket.
44:19That's where he's had a lot of his success tonight is in the middle of the field.
44:25All right, here we go.
44:26First and goal at the 2.
44:29Right is the running back to the left of Milo.
44:34And Milo is going to keep it himself, and he'll take it for the touchdown.
44:39Touchdown, Seahawks.
44:40But there are flags on the play.
44:48Holding.
44:49Offense number 83.
44:51That's the final penalty.
44:53First down.
44:54Nick Van Nett.
44:56You'll...
