00:00:57some drivers pushing a little bit over the edge,

00:01:00but Campos Racing would go out in the gap with Noel Leon.

00:01:04They set a time for the rest of the field to dry and beat,

00:01:07and as the remainder of the field came out,

00:01:09they could not find the time to go and beat Noel Leon,

00:01:13taking history for Mexico with his first pole position

00:01:17and a first for Campos since Barcelona last season.

00:01:21Welcome, everyone, to Sprint Race Saturday in Formula 2.

00:01:2528 laps of racing coming up.

00:01:28We flip the top 10 of the grid around

00:01:30and points go to the top eight finishers at the end of the race.

00:01:35Here's a look at the circuit.

00:01:37Three DRS zones in total,

00:01:39and they all come one after the other

00:01:41between turns 10 and turns 4.

00:01:44So, absolutely crucial to make sure you stay within a second,

00:01:48and a mistake in that second sector

00:01:50between turns 4 to 8 can be hugely punishing

00:01:53come the star finish straight.

00:01:55After the first lap of racing,

00:01:58we will see DRS enabled.

00:02:00Temperatures absolutely soaring,

00:02:02that's why they've got the brollies up over the cars

00:02:04to try and keep the driver's cool.

00:02:10Looking over a grid that is very, very hot indeed.

00:02:1450 degrees of track temperature,

00:02:1532 degrees of air temperature.

00:02:18To think we couldn't have thought

00:02:20it would be hotter than qualifying was yesterday.

00:02:23They're going to be torturing the soft compound tyres

00:02:26over the Sprint Race distance here.

00:02:28It'll be the Colombian, Sebastian Montoya,

00:02:30who finds himself on reverse grid pole

00:02:33by merit of qualifying 10th yesterday

00:02:35in what was a thrilling and very interesting

00:02:37qualifying session, wasn't it, Chris?

00:02:39A brilliant strategic job done by Noel Leon

00:02:43to get himself on the right bit of racetrack

00:02:45at the right time and take pole position for tomorrow.

00:02:48He'll be going off 10th today.

00:02:50Yeah, it was a split strategy for Campos, wasn't it?

00:02:52They put Nicolas Solov out towards the end of the session,

00:02:54but Noel Leon in the middle,

00:02:56and then the rest of the field just weren't able

00:02:59to beat that time that he set.

00:03:01I want to see the importance of having no traffic around you

00:03:06at Formula 2's shortest venue in terms of time,

00:03:10in terms of lap time, that is,

00:03:11and also a clear track ahead of you

00:03:13to help you try and focus on your lap.

00:03:17That's what's going to play out tomorrow.

00:07:16learning from that

00:07:19every single trick

00:07:20in the book

00:07:21to keep these tyres

00:07:22underneath them

00:07:22at this temperature

00:07:23even using the DRS

00:07:25to keep them in touch

00:07:26and then managing

00:07:28the tyre

00:07:28through the exits

00:07:29of the corners as well

00:07:30so that is a key

00:07:31challenge this year

00:07:32at Red Bull Ring

00:07:33which they haven't had

00:07:34in previous years.
