なる.
05:01Sous-Sidney Junior Rugby League teams as well.
05:03So, it's pretty highly contested little locations and postcodes around here.
05:07And so, some people get pretty passionate about it, but...
05:12We represent all those people.
05:14It's a really good working class community,
05:17and we all live the same lifestyles down here,
05:19and we all come from the same backgrounds.
05:23South Sydney fans, particularly in this area,
05:25they live and breathe this club,
05:26and their weekend moods are determined on how well we play.
05:32If we play bad, it's a bad weekend for them.
05:35If we play good, it's a great weekend for them.
05:41Do you remember the first time you wore a rabbit hole jersey?
05:44I probably don't remember the first time.
05:46You were a baby, maybe?
05:47Probably. I reckon Dad probably put it on me before I could remember,
05:52but no, I just have vague memories when I was a kid,
05:54wearing Dad's old South jerseys out in the backyard,
05:57playing with next-door neighbours, playing backyard footy,
05:59and running around in it.
06:01I was, you know, dragging it along the ground
06:03because it was so big on me and stuff like that.
06:05So, I grew up in the district,
06:09and all I've known is South Sydney.
06:10So, I'm very lucky and grateful to still be here at this club
06:14and still trying to contribute to its success.
06:18Merci beaucoup, Cameron.
06:42I loved the game of Rugby League since I was eight years old
06:46and started playing and we used to come here.
06:48My grandmother brought me to my first game.
06:50We sat in that corner.
06:51She used to sit in that corner and we didn't watch any of the game
06:54and we'd slide down the back of the hill
06:56and then we would run on to the field
06:58and touch the players and they were huge.
07:00And I still, you know, I've loved the game ever since.
07:02and all I wanted to do was play Rugby League for the Seagulls.
07:12It's got a great history, the club, a great place to live.
07:17I wouldn't say there's many players that come to the Seagulls
07:21and walk away disappointed they came.
07:23So it's my favourite club and Kettler's number two, obviously.
07:31there's this famous banner.
07:32Guess what?
07:33Manly hates you too.
07:34What does that mean?
07:36And is it still true?
07:38When you have a lot of success, the fans love to hate Manly.
07:43And that's, you know, we hate you too.
07:47Bring it on, bring it on.
07:48But you need to be winning for them to hate you.
07:51So when they're not hating you, it's not a good sign.
07:53Because then that means you're not winning.
07:55You're not winning anymore here.
07:56Last title in 2011.
07:58What's wrong?
07:59And can you bring superpowers from one of your famous fans, Hugh Jackman?
08:04Can you do something?
08:05Yeah, I'd love to.
08:06Hugh needs to get to some more games.
08:08We can get Hugh, come along to the games.
08:10That will help us.
08:11We need a little bit of luck.
08:12Some stay on the field, less injuries.
08:15Success is not too far away.
08:17The next, the next Premiership isn't far away.
08:19Merci, Steve.
08:20Good luck.
08:21Good luck to Manly.
08:22Merci, thank you.
08:23Thank you.
08:41Hi Craig.
08:42Good morning.
08:43Welcome to the sharks.
08:44Thank you.
08:44Thank you very much.
08:45Lovely to see you and meet you.
08:47Let's go and visit.
08:48Yeah, come and have a look around.
08:49Let's come through the sheds and we'll take you over to the gym and the offices, mate.
08:53Let's come through.
08:54So a representation of all these flags make up the parts of the whole sharks.
08:59There's one missing.
09:00Here, France?
09:01Yeah.
09:01Yeah, we've got to add that.
09:03It's full of sharks everywhere already.
09:05We are sharks.
09:06We represent the sharks.
09:07We try and use it as much as possible.
09:09And it's a pretty aggressive Lego for us as well.
09:11So come on through.
09:12After training, the boys are a little bit messy at the moment.
09:15But as you can see with the sheds, we're, as it stands, we're from humble beginnings,
09:20our club, you know.
09:21We use that humility to our advantage.
09:23We don't have the new facilities and whatever.
09:26We're a hard-working club.
09:27We're steeped in grit and toughness and selfless guys.
09:29So we use that to our advantage sometimes.
09:32And we try and make this a place that, well, no one wants to come here and play,
09:35but we love playing here.
09:36So whilst it not be the shiniest, newest facility in the NRL, we're still love it here.
09:45Les sharks sont propriétaires de leur enceinte,
09:48mais des décisions politiques freinent régulièrement son développement.
09:55Les sharks sont propriétaires de leur enceinte.
09:56On a club that doesn't have a new centre of excellence on the way or in the making,
09:59so it's a constant challenge for us as a club.
10:01And we're trying to work hard to activate the community and use the facility,
10:04not only for the sharks, but for other local sports.
10:07So if we can generate some funding, and the Shire's a big area,
10:10so if we can look after the Shire and make this a better facility for the community,
10:15we think it's a good idea.
10:18It hasn't happened yet, but we're trying to make it happen.
10:19Go, go, go, go, go.
10:23We clean the stadium, yeah, we do it as part of our pre-season.
10:26We like the fact that it keeps them humble.
10:27Yeah, we clean the entire facility, the stadium, the stands, obviously, all this area,
10:32the concourse, we get to the other stand, the gym, office spaces.
10:36We've got offices on the other side that we clean out and give everyone a hand.
10:39And whether it's the best home in Europe, it's our home, so we make sure we look after it.
10:53The life game experience is really important for us, so we make sure that each one of our clubs,
10:57and we grow the number of clubs, have got a great facility which can give a really good
11:02travel experience for fans, particularly young fans, young families.
14:45Well, other than the good-looking men, of course,
14:49and the muscles,
14:50I like the vibe, the atmosphere, the people,
14:52everyone coming with their families and friends
14:54and just to come and cheer on the good team.
14:57Cogra, it's in the southern part of Sydney.
15:00It's close to the city still,
15:03so it's only half an hour from the city,
15:05and it's probably half an hour from the beaches down south as well,
15:09so around the Cronulla-Sutherland area.
15:11No, there's not too many beaches around here.
15:13That's more the sharks down there,
15:14which we don't really talk to or we don't really like them.
15:20The derby here doesn't get much better than that
15:23because Cronulla was virtually born out of the St George Dragons.
15:27So they were created in 1967.
15:29I think that they were established.
15:31So every time St George plays the sharks,
15:36it's virtually big brother against baby brother.
15:39Which one is the best side in Sydney?
15:41The best side in Sydney?
15:43The St George, St George-Illawarra.
15:46The best, gee whiz in Sydney.
15:49Probably at the moment on sheer record
15:51because of their four peters without doubt Penriff.
15:55The Panthers have done it again.
15:57Four premierships in a row.
16:02The refuge of the Panthers is located at 60 km from the centre-ville,
16:06at Penriff, at the west side of the Grand Sydney.
16:15On the way they're coached, the players that they have,
16:20they have the absolute gun half of the NRL in Nathan Cleary.
16:25They have a brilliant, very calm and composed coach in his father,
16:29which creates a difficult dynamic in itself.
16:32But both father and son have managed to make that work.
16:35So they're probably the benchmark of the Sydney teams at the moment.
16:48The question is still there.
16:50The question is still the capital of rugby league?
16:52Sydney is not the capital of rugby league because we're becoming a global sport now.
16:56And we do have nine teams, nine very strong and tribal and healthy teams in Sydney.
17:02We've got, you know, a wonderful history and tradition of that.
17:07And they will continue to grow and get stronger.
17:08But it's about understanding that our vision is to go well beyond New South Wales and Queensland
17:13and to welcome all parts of the globe and to globalise the sport and make it really strong.
17:20There is a definite challenger in Queensland.
17:23They will certainly tell you it's out of origin level.
17:24But now the fact that we have the Cowboys, Brisbane Broncos have been with us since 1988.
17:29Gold goes now, Dolphins on the scene.
17:31Talk of another team from Queensland.
17:33Is Sydney still the capital?
17:35It's a good argument.
17:36I'm going to say yes.
17:37But again, you are speaking to a Sydney side of first and foremost.
17:40The grand final is played here.
17:42Yeah, it's definitely under challenge, under threat.
