00:00Ганнон expects him to be a full go today, but it is an injury we will have to keep an eye on throughout this game.
00:06And he'll have a little extra time to rest up before this one because Cincinnati wins the toss.
00:12Zach Taylor says, we want the football. Jonathan Gannon's defense will be out on the field first.
00:17Bengals ball to start things off on what has become a sunny and beautiful day in Cincinnati in Week 17.
00:24Well, it looks like it doesn't matter if it's snowing in Buffalo or if it's warm and sunny here in Cincinnati,
00:29but there's a chance that this offense is going to come out and drive right down the field.
00:33Very impressed with what they did in those conditions on Buffalo.
00:36Excited to see. I'm an offensive guy. I love when you take the ball.
00:39I think it sends a message. I know there's some analytics and trying to get that double dip at halftime,
00:44but I love when an offense comes out and sets the tone.
00:47Keyshawn Williams at the goal line. We're underway in Cincinnati.
00:50Williams looking for a crease, and he'll be stopped just shy of the 30-yard line by Channing Tindall.
00:56And Joe Burrow coming out to work.
00:59And Darryl mentioned it at the top of the broadcast, one of the best games he's had in his career.
01:04Second highest passer rating of his career last week in Miami.
01:07And I just think to watch the progression from his career, you know, through the early part until now
01:11and always picking something he wanted to get better at.
01:14You know, what you really saw last week, and even with that turf-toe situation
01:17that he's been working through all season this year,
01:20was his movement in the pocket and his ability to make those throws on the move.
01:25On first down, Burrow surveying the field.
01:29Steps up, and his pass batted down by Akeem Davis Gaither, the former Bengal.
01:34Back in Cincinnati to bat down the first offering of his former quarterback.
01:39And for this Bengals offense, you look up front.
01:42Joe Burrow said it.
01:43Everybody acknowledges it's the best offensive line in the Joe Burrow era.
01:46Yeah, and they're really starting to come together.
01:49And not only in the pass protection component of this offense, but also the run blocking.
01:54And Chase Brown and Somaji Pirine have really been able to benefit from that.
01:57And it's a great element, a great addition to this offense is that strong run game.
02:01There's Chase Brown down just shy of the 30-yard line.
02:06And defensively, with this Cardinal defense, we talked with Calais Campbell,
02:10and he said, look, losing Mack Wilson really changed everything on this defense.
02:14Yeah, when you kind of look at where this defense kind of hit that stumbling block,
02:18it kind of times up exactly at the same time of that injury to Mack.
02:22So, I just, they're continuing to work through it.
02:24We touched on it at the top.
02:26I know everybody says injuries are a part of the game of football,
02:29but there are certain seasons with certain teams where it just impacts your ability
02:33to play at a super competitive level.
02:35No Buda Baker out there today.
02:36Just his ninth career game missed.
02:39Burrow, pocket collapsing.
02:41Floats it short.
02:42The tight end, Tanner Hudson on the run with a first down.
02:46Everybody headed to the quarterback.
02:48Hudson sneaks out and picks up 13, and a Bengals first.
02:51Yeah, and Tanner Hudson, one of those guys that has the opportunity
02:54to benefit from everybody looking at Jamar Chase, at T. Higgins,
03:00worried about Chase Brown, and you just kind of slide through
03:02after you check your protection, and you got a lot of green grass out front.
03:05First down at the 43.
03:10They go with a sixth offensive lineman here on first down.
03:13Chase Brown, the single back.
03:16Yosevash in motion.
03:18Play action.
03:19Quick toss.
03:20It's Drew Sample.
03:21Tight end up the sideline.
03:23Good gate on first down.
03:24He picks up eighth.
03:25Well, it's not a surprise that we've seen the ball in the air early
03:31because with these two teams, you're going to see the ball in the air early,
03:34in the middle, late, throughout the game.
03:36They throw a lot.
03:37Yeah.
03:37How Cincinnati has built this team around their offense with Joe Burrow,
03:41with T. Higgins, with Jamar Chase.
03:43Now, on the other side, with Arizona,
03:45they have struggled to be able to run the ball to add that component.
03:48They have played from behind the majority of the year,
03:50so that slides a little bit heavy to the pass.
03:53They'd like to get a little bit more balanced if they could.
03:56On second and two on the ground, and it's Chase Brown tripped up,
04:00but with a first down at the 46-yard line.
04:03And with Chase Brown, and since the return of Joe Burrow,
04:06there has been a little more emphasis on the run.
04:08We showed you that pass percentage of 65% for the season,
04:11but over the course of the last few games since the Burrow return,
04:1540% run, 60% pass.
04:17Not balanced, but a little more in balance.
04:19Yeah.
04:20I mean, getting closer, you know,
04:21when you talk about the way that this offense has been structured
04:24and functions over the last several years with Joe Burrow,
04:27a quarterback, that's about as balanced as you're going to get,
04:30and a lot of that has to do with the performance of Chase Brown.
04:33Burrow from a clean pocket, looking deep.
04:35He's got T. Higgins dropping it in incomplete.
04:38Denzel Burke, the rookie from Ohio State in coverage,
04:42two young corners out there for Arizona,
04:44and Burke got the nod against Higgins.
04:46Yeah, working on the outside, there's T. Higgins split out wide,
04:50and you just get the little double move right there,
04:52and your eyes, you saw the eyes of Denzel Burke come off where T. Higgins was going
04:58and on to Joe Burrow, and makes a heck of a play getting back,
05:02and just right, you've got your eyes on T. Higgins.
05:05As soon as he starts to indicate he's getting ready to make that catch,
05:09you saw that extended hand come up and make the deflection.
05:11Great job.
05:12Second down and 10 at the 46.
05:15Four-man rush for Arizona.
05:17Burrow flush to the right, directed traffic with Collier chasing,
05:21floats it down the sideline.
05:22That's incomplete.
05:24Yostivash being defended by Denzel Burke.
05:28Crowd booing.
05:29They thought Burke grabbed Yostivash early.
05:32Yeah, let's see if there's a little bit of restriction right here on the catch.
05:35Yeah, I think that there's a legitimate reason why this crowd is a little bit upset here.
05:41A lot of restriction at the beginning there that prevented Yostivash
05:45from really getting into a position to make that catch.
05:48And it's going to be fun.
05:49You've got Will Johnson.
05:50You've got Denzel Burke.
05:52Two rookie corners out here going up against two of the best wide receiver combo.
05:57And then you talk about that trio with Yostivash.
06:00They're going to find out how good they are this afternoon.
06:02On third and ten, there's Jamar Chase.
06:04He ripped it away from contact.
06:06Will Johnson had a hand in there on it,
06:09and Chase just took it, secured it, and got the first.
06:12Yeah, watch as he breaks across to the middle of the field.
06:16Look at Will Johnson playing underneath coverage.
06:18Again, the confidence and the chemistry that Joe Burrow has with Jamar Chase.
06:25There's not a lot of guys that are going to make that throw with that corner underneath,
06:29playing that type of coverage in that small of a window to get that throw in.
06:33I mean, you can't ask much more out of Will Johnson there.
06:35Chase just took it away from his grasp.
06:39Hudson in motion on first down.
06:41Burrow over the middle.
06:43It's Chase again.
06:44Spins down at the 20.
06:45Johnson with the tackle.
06:47Pickup of four.
06:49And it's second down and six.
06:51And Jamar Chase, the last time he saw those Cardinal uniforms,
06:56well, he liked what he saw.
06:5715 catches, 192 yards, and three touchdowns.
07:00That's probably why Jonathan Gannon spoke so highly of Jamar Chase when we visited with him
07:06and really felt like, even though statistically it's not there,
07:10Puka Nakua is a little bit ahead of him when you talk about the stats,
07:13but really feels he is the most dangerous, the best wide receiver in the NFL.
07:17Chase Brown fights his way to about a yard and a half shy of the first down.
07:23Yeah, he was talking about him.
07:24He said the one thing we have to make sure with Chase is we can't let him score.
07:28He said he's going to get his, T. Higgins is going to get his, he said,
07:31but he turns into this gold medal sprinter you can't tackle.
07:35And they had just played Atlanta when we were talking to him,
07:37so he says he falls into the Bajon category, Bajon Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons.
07:41He said that's how dangerous he is, but he's got a little more juice.
07:44A little more juice.
07:45That's scary.
07:46I mean, Bajon is something special at that running back position,
07:48so that is high praise.
07:51Six for six in the red zone last week against Miami.
07:54Third and two in the red zone here.
07:56And it's Samaj P. Ryan picks his way forward.
08:00He's got the first down inside the 15.
08:03Yeah, and that's the perfect role for Samaj P. Ryan,
08:05and it's great to see him get involved in this run game a little bit more here
08:10at this time of the season.
08:11He's the dirty yard guy, right?
08:13He's going to get in there, and he's going to make that one-to-two-yard run
08:16turn into a three-to-four-yard run.
08:18He's going to wear you down during the course of the game.
08:20This is why the Bengals took the football after winning the toss.
08:27They wanted a drive like this to start.
08:30Twelfth play of the opening drive.
08:33Had a first down and ten near the 13.
08:37Tinsley in motion.
08:39The other side, it goes to Chase.
08:40Steps through a tackle at the ten.
08:42Spins at the five.
08:43Chase diving for the goal line.
08:45Touchdown, Cincinnati.
08:4613 hard-earned yards.
08:52Pick up six for the Bengals.
08:58And that's the other element, Kevin, right?
09:00You talked about that gold medal speed in the open field
09:02when he gets away from people.
09:03Watch this.
09:04To the sideline.
09:05Breaks the tackle there.
09:07Spin move back to the inside on Darren Hall right there,
09:09and then the reach, knowing where that goal line is.
09:12It's just both of these teams have struggled to tackle this year,
09:17and you've got to be able to get these guys to the ground,
09:20and you cannot allow.
09:21That will be a premium today with number one out there on the field.
09:25How many yards after the catch?
09:27How many yards after contact do you allow?
09:33Extra point is good, and it's 7-0 Cincinnati.
09:37Jamar Chase, Jonathan Gannon said he's going to get his,
09:42but we can't let him score.
09:44Two chances to stop him from scoring.
09:46They couldn't do it, and it's 7-0 Cincinnati as a result.
09:54Bengals were perfect in the red zone last week in Miami.
09:57Perfect to start the day in the red zone today.
10:0012th place, 72-yard drive.
10:02That whirling dervish that is Chase into the end zone for the touchdown.
10:08We got to the break, and my partner looked at me and he said,
10:10that's why you take the football to start the game.
10:13That's why they wanted to set that tone, like you said,
10:16and they certainly have.
10:17Yeah, and it's amazing just watching that Buffalo game
10:19with the conditions that they were in,
10:20and that opening drive, and sending that message
10:22in a scoring shootout style of game.
10:25I was interested to see what they were going to do here today.
10:27I really was, you know, when they got that decision.
10:29So now Jacoby Brissett in his 100th NFL game.
10:33His 64th career start will take the field.
10:36His team down 7-0, and we'll see if this offense,
10:40which has been very pass-heavy, can keep up with what looks like
10:44a Bengals offense that, as we talked about at the top of the broadcast,
10:47is finally hitting on all cylinders.
10:48Yeah, you talk about Jacoby Brissett.
10:51I think we have to change, you know, who we think he is.
10:53He's really trying to show that he deserves a starting opportunity
10:57since week six.
10:58He's got the most attempts, completions, and yards in the NFL.
11:02And still a low interception rate, 1.4% on his career,
11:07second all-time to Aaron Rodgers.
11:09Carter blocked off to the right.
11:11He'll go to the left.
11:12Brissett trying to set a little screen for him,
11:14and Carter gets positive yardage of four out to the 39-yard line.
11:19For this Cardinals offense, we saw Carter on the first carry,
11:21but there's no doubt the offense goes through 85,
11:24Trey McBride, 18, Marvin Harrison Jr., and of late, 14, Michael Wilson.
11:29Yeah, I think they need to find a way to figure out why the numbers for Michael Wilson
11:33are down when he and Marvin Harrison are on the field.
11:36Another guy, since week 11, he's in the top three in targets, in catches, and yards.
11:42He's demonstrated he needs a bigger role in this offense.
11:44A couple of run plays to start for this Arizona offense,
11:48and that's something that Jonathan Gannon stressed with us.
11:52He said, against this Bengals defense, which has been better since the bye,
11:56they've got to be able to run the football, but it is an improved Cincinnati defense.
11:59It really has since that bye.
12:01Probably the biggest area, you know, Al Golden talks about ball disruption, the takeaways.
12:07I mean, they are the best in the league at, you know, 11 takeaways over that time frame.
12:12And third downs, they always talked about situational mastery.
12:16The other area they've got to get a little bit better, red zone.
12:19But some progress for Al Golden's defense here of late.
12:25They're set on third down, a little too tall for Wilson.
12:28Covered well by D.J. Turner, and it's fourth and four and a three and out,
12:33the Cardinals offense response.
12:35Yeah, it shows you the respect that they have for Michael Wilson right there.
12:40That's D.J. Turner in coverage, man-to-man coverage on him.
12:43And I tell you what, when Joe Burrow steps out and says,
12:47hey, I feel like we got slighted, and not me going to the Pro Bowl.
12:50I was hurt the majority of the season.
12:51But to only name Jamar Chase from this team is a disservice,
12:54and he was talking about D.J. Turner.
12:56Very disappointed he didn't get a look as a Pro Bowl player beyond alternate.
13:00And Hawks punt fielded by Keyshawn Williams at the 15-yard line,
13:04and then Williams out to the 21 and driven out of bounds there.
13:09When we return, he's back on the field.
13:12Joe Burrow, 5 of 8, with a touchdown on the opening drive.
13:16What can he do next? Stick around.
13:17The Roebling Bridge, when it opened at 1867,
13:26it was the longest bridge in the world at the time,
13:28and John Roebling used it as the prototype for the bridge he would build later
13:31with a little bit more fame in it.
13:33The Brooklyn Bridge.
13:34Play the Fox Super 6 NFL Challenge.

13:39for a shot to win your share of $10,000 in cash prizes.
13:43See the Fox Sports app for details.
13:44I learn something new every week,
13:46and most of the time it doesn't have anything to do with football.
13:49So thank you very much for that.
13:50You're welcome.
13:51Enjoy the bridge.
13:53I thought you were going to get into the elephant one.
13:54Where's the guy that took the elephant across?
13:55Because an elephant won't go across unless he knows it's structurally sound.
13:58He can sense it?
13:59He can sense it.
14:00I don't know if they've ever brought one across the Roebling Bridge,
14:02but it's been around since the late 1800s, 1860s.
14:05So it's probably sound.
14:07Burrow on the run.
14:09Nobody open, and Burrow will just slide down at the 23-yard line.
14:13Well, it's been all or nothing for the Bengals in the four games
14:15since Joe Burrow came back from injury.
14:17Began Thanksgiving night.
14:18They ended the four-game losing streak.
14:1932-14 win over the Ravens.
14:22Started out great in Buffalo, but two late interceptions doomed them in the loss.
14:26Rematch with Baltimore.
14:27Burrow really struggled.
14:29First shutout since 2017.
14:30But then last week, franchise road game record 45 points scored
14:35in the win at Miami, and they've obviously started off well
14:38in this one for Zach Taylor.
14:39Yeah, picked up right where they left off last week against Miami.
14:43So when this offense is feeling it, boy, I just don't know how you slow them down.
14:48On second down, check it down.
14:50Samajay Pirine up the sideline, and Pirine dancing his way
14:55right near the first down yardage at the 31.
14:58Aaron Hall had a shot at him.
14:59One of the things that he does, Kevin, that just all the young quarterbacks,
15:02I think that all young quarterbacks should really sit down
15:05and watch Joe Burrow tape in the offseason,
15:07because whether it's his movement in the pocket that we talked about earlier
15:10or taking what the defense is giving you,
15:13we've had that phrase that we've used all season long
15:15that we got from C.J. Stroud, finding joy in the ordinary.
15:18Give your guys an opportunity.
15:20This is a very poor tackling team when we talk about the Arizona Cardinals.
15:24Almost 1,200 yards allowed after missed tackles this season.
15:28Trust your guys to be able to get more yards.
15:32Here's Chase Brown on first down, and Brown out to the 38.
15:35A flag down behind the play, and it's going to be against Cincinnati.
15:40It'll back them up.
15:44Holding. Offense number 75.
15:47Ten-yard penalty.
15:48Let me play first down.
15:49It's Orlando Brown, the left tackle.
15:51And Allison Williams, the Cardinals defense would love to see Buda Baker on the field,
15:55but he's still here.
15:57Yeah, they're all pro safety out today with a concussion,
15:59and I talked to him before the game, and it was just killing him not to be able to play,
16:03but he's still doing everything he can to help his young teammates out there in the secondary.
16:07He was one of the first guys talking to Deidre and Taylor Demerson,
16:10talking about what he's seen.
16:11He's got his earpiece in so he can hear the plays,
16:13going over things on the iPad with the young guys in the secondary,
16:16and really told me he has to emphasize their eyes have to be right
16:19because it's so hard limiting explosives.
16:21There's no doubt about that.
16:23First down and 20.
16:24A flag is down.
16:25It drops right at the feet of Pirine.
16:27It was thrown so high in the air that Pirine almost caught up to the flag.
16:37Offside.
16:38Defense number 56.
16:40Five-yard penalty.
16:41We play first down.
16:42So Darius Robinson, an early start.
16:48Well, here's what you were talking about, Kevin.
16:50Hello.
16:51Dropping right in front of him.
16:53That is crazy.
16:54That's some hang time on that penalty call.
16:56So five yards later, and one extremely well-tossed flag later.
17:05It's first and 15.
17:08River.
17:09River.
17:11Yeah.
17:12Back.
17:14Ready.
17:16That's right.
17:18Burrow over the middle.
17:20There's Tee Higgins, his first catch.
17:22The crowd chanting, Tee.
17:24He came back after going to see a specialist in Pittsburgh about the concussions that he
17:29has dealt with this year.
17:31Got completely cleared on all fronts.
17:33Came back to play in a season that's lost for Cincinnati.
17:36Boy, the impact that made in the locker room was significant, Darrell.
17:39Well, it's not just his production on the field, why you signed Tee Higgins to the contract
17:44that they signed him to in the offseason.
17:45It's that passion for the game that he has.
17:48A lot of guys in that situation, nervousness about what your future is going to hold.
17:52But, hey, I'm going to shut it down this year to make sure that I'm okay.
17:56Not Tee Higgins.
17:56He's out there with his guys.
17:57Loves to play ball.
17:58Nice cutback.
17:59Chase Brown fights his way out near midfield down at the Bengals' 49-yard line with a pickup
18:05of 13 before Cody Simon and Darren Hall can track him down.
18:09Yeah, and you're just kind of getting in behind these guys and then looking for that open lane
18:12and swinging back through.
18:14Just a great job.
18:15And that's one of the things you've seen right there.
18:17The guys getting up to that second level, not allowing that linebacker to fall back in
18:22on the cutback runs, that's one of the areas you've seen this offensive line really improve
18:27during the course of the season.
18:28With me.
18:32On first down and 10.
18:36Off the play fake.
18:37Burrow from a clean pocket.
18:39Incomplete.
18:39He wanted chase here.
18:40Flags.
18:41Will Johnson a little extra contact before that ball get there?
18:46Got there, and it'll be a penalty against Johnson, the rookie from Michigan.
18:49Pass interference.
18:59Defense number zero.
19:01Spot foul.
19:02On another first down.
19:05It's kind of a great job by Jamar Chase.
19:07Watch.
19:07He's going to get inside.
19:08He's going to make to the break, and then he's going to stop.
19:10And then, boom.
19:11That initiates the contact there.
19:14Gets him off the spot.
19:15That's first down at the 35.
19:21Bengals on the move again.
19:23First drive, got a touchdown.
19:25This is their second drive, and not much on the ground that time.
19:28Zach Carter, former Bengal, no gain on the play.
19:32Well, Nick Rollis, the third-year defensive coordinator for the Cardinals.
19:39This is not exactly an enviable position to be in.
19:42You're down a lot of weapons, and you've got to try to stop an offense that has all theirs back.
19:46Yeah, and how do you do that?
19:47You see a lot of five-man fronts from the Arizona Cardinals.
19:51Are you going to kind of bring pressure and trust your guys on the back end
19:54and try and stop Chase Brown and this offensive line that has gotten better
19:58during the course of the seasons to stop that run with a lighter box?
20:03Second down and ten.
20:04Burrow to the sideline.
20:06Yosivas is there.
20:07That's a first down.
20:09Out of bounds at the 23-yard line of Arizona.
20:11Denzel Burke in coverage after the 12-yard gain.
20:14Yeah, and this is just one of those routes.
20:16It's just timed up so well, and you've repped it so many different times.
20:19You know, the ball coming off the hand of Joe Burrow
20:22as Andre Yosivas is making that break to the outside.
20:26So pretty hard to defend for Denzel Burke in that situation.
20:30Those guys have repped that so many times, and it's well executed.
20:34Six different receivers already, Moose, for Joe Burrow.
20:41Burrow.
20:42Pocket collapsing.
20:44Throws to the sideline.
20:45There's Yosivas again.
20:46Denweaves his way near the 10-yard line.
20:49Down at the 11.
20:50It's another first down.
20:51Picks up 12 before Cody Simon can trip him up.
20:55Again, here is that movement in the pocket
20:57that these young quarterbacks need to watch
20:59because his eyes are always downfield wanting to throw the football,
21:02and it's just the movement of the feet kind of getting into an area
21:05where you get clear throwing lanes.
21:08And just from the route concept that's designed right there,
21:11you're able to find Andre Yosivas open in the flat.
21:16Back of the red zone.
21:20First down and 10 at the 11.
21:22Burrow looking open.
21:24Higgins at the 7.
21:26And Burke wraps him up there.
21:30Let's go back to last week.
21:31Yeah, and this is a couple of throws.
21:32You know, one of these is ones that everybody was talking about.
21:35You know, you're moving up that way.
21:36It's kind of the mat.
21:37Stafford, no look.
21:38Back to Drew Sample the other way,
21:40and that's a big gain right there.
21:41But here's another great one, right?
21:43You're up.
21:44You're back.
21:44You climb forward again,
21:45but you're moving with your eyes always downfield looking for your receivers.
21:50I think it's one of the things that he does as well as any quarterback in the NFL,
21:54and he trusts his guys to be able to get in sync with him
21:57and find those open areas in the defense for him to throw the ball.
22:00Three tight ends out there on second down.
22:06Brown fights his way to the three.
22:10He can get a first down inside the two at about the yard and a half line,
22:14so it'll be third down from here.
22:18Well, people talk about Joe Burrow and what you were illustrating there.
22:22He's not America's greatest running quarterback,
22:24but he manipulates that pocket about as well as anybody in this game.
22:28And you don't have to be.
22:29You don't have to be a Lamar Jackson or a Patrick Mahomes,
22:33these guys that we see that are really dangerous when they run,
22:35and keep the football.
22:36I think the superpower of Joe is, you know,
22:39his ability to stress that defense and put him into that decision-making process,
22:44and you've got to choose one, and he's going to make you pay.
22:46Here's Pirine trying to fight his way towards first down yardage.
22:50I don't think he got there.
22:52Stacked up at the two-yard line.
22:54That is short of the first down.
22:56He tried to run behind the extra lineman, Lucas Patrick.
22:59Just didn't get enough push, and Zach Taylor with a decision to make here on fourth down.
23:04Yeah, and we've talked about, you know, who these guys are out here right now.
23:08There comes the motion into the middle with Lucas Patrick,
23:10and you just got some unblocked guys there right at the point of attack.
23:14So, a breakdown in your assignments, but I like this call.
23:19Your offense is playing really, really well.
23:21They're going to be very confident.
23:22Worst-case scenario, you don't convert here,
23:24and you're going to force Arizona to come off their own goal line.
23:27Burrow on the quarterback sneak.
23:30Remember, he can get a first down inside the two-yard line, and he does.
23:34At the one, it'll be first and goal.
23:37After the one-yard gain by Joe Burrow takes us to the end of quarter number one.
23:44A quarter dominated by the home team.
23:47Cincinnati marched it down on their opening drive to score.
23:50Knocking on the door as the second quarter begins next on Fox.
23:54Back at Paycore Stadium in warm Cincinnati, Ohio,
23:59alongside Daryl Johnston with Allison Williams on the field.
24:01Mike Pereira in our replay center in Los Angeles.
24:05I'm Kevin Coogler.
24:05The Bengals start with a first and goal inside the one.
24:09They've got two extra offensive linemen out there.
24:12So, this is a really big, super-sized offense.
24:17One of those linemen, Cody Ford's lineup at the fullback spot
24:20in front of Samaje Pirine.
24:23And on first and goal, it is Pirine.
24:25A little jump cut, and he's in for a Cincinnati touchdown.
24:35Third rushing touchdown of the year for Pirine.
24:40Yeah, nice job by Dylan Fairchild.
24:42It's not easy to pull on the goal line because you can get some penetration.
24:47He does a really good job of being able to get around the corner.
24:50But not only that, but get the block on Cody Simon as well.
24:54A couple of things down there by that Arizona front on that fourth down conversion.
24:59They were late getting set.
25:01They weren't really hunkered down on that quarterback sneak,
25:03so you're going to give up some leverage and some yardage.
25:06And then on that one right there, that was a little bit too easy.
25:09Extra point is no good.
25:12Evan McPherson missing his first extra point of the season.
25:17Wide to the left.
25:20The Cincinnati Bengals back-to-back, long touchdown drives.
25:24With the missed extra point, a 13-0 Bengals lead.
25:29For the Bengals, first time they've started a game with back-to-back 10-plus play touchdown drives
25:34since exactly 10 years ago today when they were in Denver.
25:39So every 10 years, the Cincinnati Bengals, if they play on December 28th,
25:43are going to go back-to-back 10-plus play touchdown drives.
25:46It's science.
25:48Here's Weaver on the return for the Cardinals,
25:51and Weaver down at the 30-yard line.
25:54So for the Arizona Cardinals, they are trying to avoid some history.
26:00Teams to start 2-0 and finish with four wins or fewer.
26:03A lot of cool logos there, but they're all old logos.
26:07This doesn't happen very often in the league.
26:09This is in the Super Bowl era.
26:10Both teams from Houston, the Oilers and the Texans,
26:14starting 2-0 and then finishing under four wins.
26:17And obviously, for the Cardinals, they've got to do some winning to avoid being on that list,
26:23a list you certainly don't want to be on.
26:27On first down, Brissette off play action, sets up the screen to McBride.
26:31First touch for Trey McBride, and it results in a Cardinal first down as he fights his way out
26:36near the 45-yard line.
26:38Pick up a 15 for McBride.
26:41Now, I know that that first drive was just a three-and-out series,
26:45and you probably didn't have the opportunity to get the ball to Trey McBride.
26:49I love coming back out on the next one.
26:51On the first play, we are getting the ball to Trey McBride
26:55because there's an energy that he plays this game with.
26:59It's very similar to George Kittle in San Francisco.
27:02He gives this offense a spark.
27:05And he's chasing history, as you saw there.
27:07Brissette will step up and finds Michael Carter over the middle.
27:10Carter dancing his way into Bengals' territory
27:13and down with an eight-yard gain at the 47.
27:19So as the Cardinals start a little progress, we progress to Los Angeles.
27:23Carissa Thompson's got a game break.
27:25Thank you so much, Kevin.
27:26Well, the Colts playing spoiler today.
27:28Up 3-0 on the Jags.
27:29We're still fighting for the AFC South title.
27:31Well, Jonathan Taylor takes this one right up the middle for the score.
27:34Colts lead, Jags 10-0.
27:36Okay.
27:38All right.
27:39Spoilers abound in the NFL, potentially, today.
27:43Second down and two.
27:46And a handoff to Carter, and he lunges for a first down to the Cincinnati 45.
27:51Shamar Stewart, the rookie first-round pick for the Bengals
27:54who's been banged up most of the year, makes the tackle.
27:56Yeah, Shamar Stewart, Miles Murphy,
27:58two of the guys that are really starting to play well here for this Cincinnati defense
28:03when we talk about kind of the last five weeks.
28:06I want to get back to that Arizona thing,
28:08that graphic we showed starting out 2-0 and not being able to win four games.
28:12The three games following those first two victories,
28:15they lost by five points.
28:16That was a huge gut punch.
28:18And I think this team, with the injuries and with that,
28:20have really, really struggled to get back on track
28:23since that early part of the season.
28:25Yeah, it's really snowballed on them
28:27as Carter tripped up with the 43-yard line of Cincinnati.
28:31You had a little early momentum,
28:32and then it just continued to stack up and stack up,
28:36and then the injuries hit.
28:37You see the average margin to defeat the first five games versus the last seven.
28:42And again, not an excuse, but an explanation of sorts
28:46because you just don't replace the guys that are on the shelf for this Arizona team
28:50with guys off your practice squad or elsewhere.
28:52No, and I don't want anybody to look at that graphic
28:55and think that Jonathan Gannon is losing this team,
28:58that these guys are not playing hard for him.
28:59Because every time we do an Arizona game,
29:02the first question we ask, how was the week?
29:03How are the guys doing?
29:04And he always says, hey, we are upbeat, we are playing hard, we're preparing hard.
29:09Offsides will be the call.
29:10There are flags down because B.J. Hill got an early start.
29:13Michael Wilson on the receiving end.
29:16That's going to end up about two yards short of the first down,
29:19but likely taking the flag.
29:22Kind of interesting.
29:23That looked like one of those ones where it's kind of unabated to the quarterback
29:25where they didn't shut that one down.
29:26Defense number 97.
29:28Five-yard penalty.
29:29Replace second down.
29:31And they called it on Shamar Stewart.
29:32I'm pretty sure it's B.J. Hill that got the early start.
29:35There it is.
29:36There's the correction.
29:38I mean, he's splitting that double team right there.
29:40I mean, he's free right to Jacoby Brissette.
29:42Hey, but here, B.J. Hill, very cool.
29:45Much respect for Jacoby Brissette.
29:47Didn't do anything when he got there to potentially get a penalty
29:50or to injure a player.
29:51And as a result of the penalty, it's second down and three at the 38.
29:57Brissette, clean pocket.
29:58Wilson is open.
30:00And Michael Wilson up the sidelines.
30:02Inside the 10, fighting his way down the sidelines.
30:05He is in for an Arizona touchdown.
30:08Walking the tightrope for six from 38 yards out.
30:12Yeah, I don't know what we're doing here inside the 10-yard line
30:17as a Cincinnati defense.
30:19Al Golden's going to be furious when he watches this on film.
30:22Watch 14 come out of this group right here on the out route.
30:25Number one, how is he so open?
30:27We got two guys running downfield, so a broken coverage.
30:30And then this is just, this is not good defense at all.
30:36Geno Stone trying to knock him out of bounds.
30:39Wrap him up.
30:40Wrap him up.
30:40Drive him out of bounds.
30:45They're looking at this.
30:46Did he step out on that edge?
30:49Hard to tell on that angle.
30:52The officials worked in tandem.
30:54I watched them do it.
30:55The official at the goal line looked back at his teammate.
30:57The teammate gave the thumbs up.
30:59It's been confirmed a touchdown.
31:01Really good work by Michael Wilson,
31:04who's done some outstanding work down the stretch this season for Arizona.
31:10Chad Ryland on for the extra point.
31:16And that is a big answer for Arizona in this ballgame.
31:20Michael Wilson.
31:21He has been phenomenal down the stretch.
31:27Jacoby Brissett finds one of his favorite targets to get the Cardinals back in it.
31:34Five plays, 70 yards.
31:36And for Michael Wilson, his fourth straight game with a touchdown.
31:39How about Jacoby Brissett?
31:41Three for three, 61 yards.
31:43And you see the difference.
31:44With and without Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson became that number one wide receiver.
31:50And he really embraced that role this year.
31:52They've got to figure this out, right?
31:53You've got Trey McBride putting up crazy numbers at the tight end spot this year.
31:57You've got the number four overall draft pick a couple of years ago in Marvin Harrison Jr.,
32:03who should be a star in this offense and is still trying to find his way here.
32:06And now you've got Michael Wilson.
32:08You've got to find a way to make those three guys be able to put up big numbers
32:12every time they step on the field together.
32:15The more weapons you have, the more you should stress the opposition defense.
32:19Touch back to the 35.
32:20And Allison Williams, it's been an adjustment for Michael Wilson, too, to that role.
32:24Yeah, because he saw so much more action out there at wide receiver than he's used to.
32:28He joked with us.
32:28He's like, I've never had 16 to 18 targets a game in my life.
32:32And while there's challenges physically, it's really mentally.
32:35The mental strain and focus you have to have at all times, which gets so taxing,
32:39because it could come to you at any point.
32:41And he said, learning to be locked in each and every play.
32:43He said, my role change and my respect for guys like Pukunukua and Jamar Chase
32:47really went up because I saw just how much they have to focus
32:51and be mentally locked in each and every play.
32:54Yeah, and Pukunukua and Jamar Chase, Allison,
32:56those are the two guys that are kind of right there with him.
32:59When you talk about 10-plus catches and 100-plus yard games this year,
33:02Pukunukua's got four, Jamar's got three, Michael Wilson's got three.
33:06Right.
33:06I mean, so he's right there with the best of the best in this league.
33:10Well, and as he told us, if we can figure out the right cadence
33:12between me, Marvin, and Trey, it could be a real threat offensively.
33:17Four-man rush.
33:26Burrow with time for Chase incomplete.
33:30Jalen Thompson running out there with Jamar Chase in coverage,
33:33and now third and seven for Cincinnati.
33:35Just seeing that style of coverage, a little bit of a trail,
33:40and they're underneath.
33:41We've seen it whether it's Jalen Thompson at safety or Denzel Burke at corner.
33:45You know, with Jamar Chase, you know,
33:47you've got a guy underneath and a guy over the top hanging on there,
33:49but that guy underneath is really kind of the guy
33:51that's forcing the throw by Joe Burrow.
33:53Amarius Mims is not out there at right tackle.
33:57Cody Ford is playing right tackle right now for the Bengals.
34:01Third down and seven.
34:04Four-man rush.
34:06Burrow steps up.
34:07Pressure comes down.
34:08He goes.
34:09It's Calais Campbell, the ageless wonder.
34:13Six-and-a-half sacks this season.
34:16Campbell dropping Burrow on third down,
34:18and the punt team coming on for Cincinnati.
34:20Really nice job by Calais Campbell right here,
34:24and he gets free late.
34:26He's got the double team working.
34:27There goes the big swat on Dylan Fairchild
34:29and just that quick burst to get to Joe Burrow,
34:32and you can see him.
34:33Look at his eyes.
34:33He's working that pocket, working that pocket.
34:35Maybe a tick too late before he broke out,
34:38and big Calais Campbell tracked him down.
34:40The oldest defensive player in the National Football League,
34:43seven years older than his defensive coordinator.
34:46He gets the sack and gets the football back for his offense.
34:49Stephen Sims at the 34-yard line.
34:53Five sacks or more in each of the last four years
34:56for four different teams, knocking on the door of 40
34:59as he drops nine in Cincinnati.
35:01Through the years, Calais Campbell steady as it comes,
35:13no matter what uniform he's putting on.
35:14He's out there.
35:15He's answering the call.
35:1739 years old, knocking on the door of 40,
35:19and knocking on the door of history.
35:20Jim Marshall has played more games than any defensive lineman,
35:24and we asked him about, hey, will you come back next year
35:26to get the record?
35:27He said, well, I don't know.
35:29He says, I'm going to hopefully know for sure in March,
35:31but I'm not going to try and drag it out.
35:33Yeah, but I love it.
35:34He's got a level of play that he's going to hold himself accountable to,
35:37and if he feels like he can't do that, he's not going to come back.
35:40Even that close to some of the all-time records.
35:44On first down, Brissette pumps, pulls that one back.
35:48Brissette on the roll, and Brissette will just throw this away
35:50before he gets out of bounds.
35:51And for more on Calais Campbell, on to Allison Williams.
35:55Well, as Calais goes through that process of asking himself about his future,
35:59he asks himself the same questions every offseason.
36:02First thing, can I still make an impact?
36:04He said, I have too much respect for this game.
36:06I don't want to go out there and stink it up or just be average.
36:09Then he has to decide, am I willing to pay the price to be good at it,
36:12to go through the offseason conditioning and the soreness and all the pain?
36:16And then he thinks about where his family is at,
36:18and can they make it work in their lives?
36:19And then the last question, which has never been a question yet,
36:22is do I still have the desire?
36:24That has always been yes.
36:25Yeah, the passion has been there.
36:27There's no doubt about that.
36:29But that's an interesting thing that Allison says, Darrell,
36:32and I know you can relate to this.
36:33It's not just the going out and playing for 17 games.
36:37It's all of the work to get your body ready to play in those games.
36:41This is the best day of the week.
36:43I mean, game day, Sundays, Monday night, Thursday night, Thanksgiving,
36:46whatever day it is, Christmas day.
36:48That's what you live for.
36:50It's the preparation.
36:51It's really the Monday to Saturday.
36:54How are you feeling then?
36:55I always felt it's going to be something,
36:57whether it's going to be the physical or the mental,
36:59and a lot of times it's mental.
37:00You get to the middle of the week when you're doing all the hard work
37:03and the prep, and you're just not there mentally.
37:05The tank is empty,
37:06or the body just hasn't had an opportunity to heal before the next game.
37:10Third down and long.
37:12Brissette under pressure.
37:14Over the middle, incomplete for Imari Di Mercado.
37:16The coverage from the rookie, Barrett Carter.
37:19Pass incomplete, and a big response from this Bengals defense.
37:23A much maligned unit.
37:25We talked about how they've been better of late,
37:27and they come up big here.
37:28This is a good job by Barrett Carter.
37:31That's not easy.
37:32You know, we see so many of these linebackers walked up into the position,
37:35you know, for covering, or showing a blitz,
37:38and then you're also responsible for coverage,
37:40and it's a two-way go.
37:41So, a good job there.
37:42You saw the hand on the hip.
37:43You saw the hand on the waist, but he didn't turn.
37:45He made the play on the football.
37:47I like the no call.
37:48Hawk will punt it away to Keyshawn Williams.
37:50Really good punt by Hawk.
37:52It'll bounce inside the two and out of bounds.
37:56Can you do that any better?
37:57Maybe a yard better?
38:00I mean, that is outstanding.
38:02The wind's picked up a little bit in Cincinnati,
38:04but it didn't matter to Matt Hawk.
38:07Good battle in the Queen City on a Sunday on Fox.
38:17Back in Cincinnati on a warm December day.
38:2113-7 lead for the Bengals.
38:239-0-9 to go in the second quarter.
38:25Earlier this week, the NFL announced the rosters
38:27for the 2026 Pro Bowl games.
38:29Here are the players selected from these teams.
38:30Jamar Chase of the Bengals, Trey McBride,
38:32and Budabaker of the Cardinals.
38:33New this year, each Pro Bowl selection
38:35will wear a Pro Bowl trophy decal on his helmet
38:38through the end of the season
38:39to celebrate this career achievement.
38:41To see the full rosters and learn about this year's selections,
38:44go to ProBowl.com.
38:46Matt Hawk doing a nice job of punting.
38:49Pro Bowl-level punting to pin the Bengals at the two.
38:53Mike Gesicki gets him out of the hole.
38:55Quick little toss to the sideline,
38:57and he's out at the 17.
38:58A pick-up of 15 and a first down.
39:01Yeah, good job right here.
39:02You're going to have the defensive end
39:04dropping back into coverage,
39:05trying to get underneath that.
39:07You see the throw, the recognition,
39:08and the throw by Joe Burrow right there.
39:11Real good stuff.
39:11Burrow 11 for 15, 121 yards, and a touchdown.
39:20Very efficient first half for Joe Burrow.
39:23Handoff on first down,
39:25and Brown out near the 25-yard line.
39:29Cody Simon and Jordan Burch
39:30combined on the stop for Chase Brown,
39:33and Joe Burrow's got a little equipment malfunction here.
39:36New helmet.
39:40Yeah.
39:41Can't hear anything.
39:44I don't know if he needs to.
39:45The way he's playing right now.
39:47He knows that play sheet well, the call sheet.
39:52New helmet with some hopefully updated hardware
39:55that'll help him hear what Zach Taylor wants to run.
39:58Second and three.
40:01And it's Burr Brown on the edge.
40:03Makes a man miss.
40:04Chase Brown weaves across the 40
40:06and down near the 43-yard line.
40:09Really nice run after catch by Chase Brown.
40:1218-yard pickup.
40:13He's become a dynamic running back.
40:15Again, the missed tackles.
40:17So, Joe Burrow, just trust your guys
40:18to be able to extend beyond the catch.
40:20Watch Chase Brown right here.
40:22I mean, it's just over-pursuit by Dadrian Taylor.
40:24Demerson, number 42, right here.
40:26You've got to be inside out on that.
40:27You've got no help.
40:28You did have help to the outside if you were going to miss.
40:31Miss to Darren Hall, number 30.
40:33On first down.
40:43Burrow again to Brown.
40:45And Brown making Will Johnson miss out near midfield.
40:51We've seen back-to-back receptions for Chase Brown.
40:55And we talked with him about becoming a better pass catcher
40:58because Joe Burrow said his first year,
41:00I don't think he can catch anything.
41:01And then we said to Chase, what happened?
41:03He goes, well, in college, you get so caught up
41:05on getting extra lifts and extra mobility.
41:07But he goes, I didn't spend that much time
41:09working on fundamentals,
41:10like how to properly catch the football
41:12and how to read certain coverages.
41:14But he's really invested time in that,
41:16and it's starting to pay off.
41:19Joe Burrow said as a result of that,
41:21he's become one of the best running backs in the game.
41:24And you see Brown shifty up the middle to get the first down
41:28or near the first down at the 47.
41:31We get another game break with Carissa Thompson.
41:33Thank you so much, Kevin.
41:34The Jags fighting for that division title
41:36and the one seed down 10 to the Colts.
41:38Trevor Lawrence decides to call his own number,
41:40makes a defender miss, gets in for the score.
41:42Jags now down three to the Colts.
41:44Kev?
41:44The Jags team, so talented.
41:47We saw them last week, Darryl and Denver.
41:50Just an impressive group that Liam Cohen
41:52has put together in this first year.
41:54Very balanced, all three phases.
41:56Very impressive win last week in Denver.
41:59So just short of the first down, it's third down and one.
42:03Burrow jumps it over the middle.
42:05Catch secured, first down secured.
42:08Yosevash with the catch, and the Bengals move the chains.
42:11We talked about at the top of the broadcast,
42:15this is the way it's supposed to look like,
42:18you know, from week one on, before Joe had that injury.
42:21You can't be right defensively.
42:23You play zone, they find the soft spots.
42:25You play man, can you match up with everybody?
42:28And one of those guys right now is probably Chase Brown.
42:31You know, Joe Burrow has gone from year one.
42:33I don't know if he could even catch a football
42:34to right now in his career.
42:36I don't know if a linebacker can cover him.
42:39Burrow, pressure up the middle.
42:40A late rush, and it's Cody Simon with his first sack.
42:46The rookie from Ohio State, back in Ohio, gets the sack.
42:52And Samajay Pirine comes up limping.
42:54Yeah, and this is a miss right here, I think, on Samajay Pirine.
42:57He gets caught going out to Zayvon Collins,
42:59but you've got Cody Ford out there.
43:01Now, remember, we've got Amarius Mims on the sideline
43:04with the shin injury.
43:05Does Cody Ford at that time, you know, not slide?
43:09Was that a slide protection, and he was supposed to go down
43:12and kind of be the hinge guy that would take Cody Simon?
43:15Or was that, and then allow Samajay Pirine to go to Zayvon Collins outside?
43:20So a breakdown in coverage right there.
43:22Can't turn a guy loose to Joe Burrow.
43:24So Pirine being checked out by the medical staff on the Bengals' sideline.
43:29Second down and 18 for Cincinnati.
43:36Burrow in trouble again, and Burrow goes down.
43:39It's Dalvin Tomlinson.
43:42The first-year Cardinal gets his first Cardinal sack,
43:45and it's third and long.
43:46Well, now it's just, you know, we've got numbers here, right?
43:52Look at all the guys that are up.
43:53So you're going to make everybody count that,
43:54but how many guys actually come?
43:56There's only four rushing.
43:57But now they're overpowering, right?
43:59Calais Campbell.
44:01Boy, he is a beast in the middle right now.
44:05Dalvin Tomlinson, when you talk about guys
44:07who are going to get pressure on Joe Burrow,
44:09you know, Dalvin Tomlinson's not one of those guys.
44:12He's more of the run-stuffing type guy,
44:14hold your gap, let the other guys get it done,
44:15but they're getting some good pressure inside right now.
44:18Here's Brown on the screen on third and long.
44:21Brown slides inside the 40, short of the first down.
44:27But, Darrell, you're into long field goal range
44:29for Evan McPherson with that run after catch.
44:32I'd say you go for it on fourth down
44:33and see what you can do right here.
44:35And we just talked about that inside pressure.
44:37Great play call.
44:38Fans don't like this.
44:39Evan McPherson is coming out onto the field,
44:42so Zach Taylor going to elect to do a field goal right here.
44:45But it's a lot longer than I thought it's going to be, right?
44:47It's fourth and seven.
44:48So I do agree with this call.
44:50I thought he was a little bit closer.
44:51I thought maybe it was a fourth and four.
44:53But this is a little bit long here
44:54when you're talking about fourth and seven.
44:56And this Arizona team has gotten into
44:59a little bit of a complementary field themselves.
45:01So you don't want to waste the opportunity
45:04for points right here.
45:05There's an injured Cardinal that is down
45:09before McPherson can line up for this 56-yard try.
45:14He hit from 60 both directions in warm-ups.
45:18Keaton Crawford, the seventh-round pick, the rookie,
45:22slow to get up, and he'll limp to the sideline.
45:25Is that an Arizona player that's injured?
45:27That doesn't happen very often.
45:28Yeah, you've heard that.
45:28If you're a Cardinal fan,
45:29you've heard that all too much from broadcasters this year.
45:35Wind has picked up just a little bit since warm-ups.
45:39This is a 56-yard try.
45:41Four of seven from 50-plus this year.
45:47Remember, he missed his first extra point earlier.
45:49Good snap and hold.
45:51McPherson's kick tracking down the middle.
45:54Plenty long, and it is good.
45:56And a 16-7 lead for Zach Taylor's Cincinnati Bengals.
46:02So the Bengals get that nice run after catch
46:04on the third and 22 from Chase Brown.
46:06Sets him up for three,
46:08and they'll take the 16-7 lead
46:10with 321 remaining in the first half.
46:16Holliday's still in full force in Cincinnati.
46:19We were hanging out by that tree last night.
46:2116-7 the lead for the Bengals.
46:25They're always kind enough to take us all out
46:27for ice cream last night.
46:30If you're coming to Cincinnati,
46:31there's one place you have to hit
46:33for quite possibly the best ice cream in the country.
46:36Oh, my.
46:36Bold statement about the good folks at Graders.
46:41Line drive kickoff from the goal line.
46:43It's Stephen Sims.
46:45Sims looking for a little room,
46:47and he's yanked down at the 27-yard line.
46:51Well, after a huge NFL Sunday,
46:53there's three guys you can't miss on Monday morning.
46:55You've got to know what Dave's going to say
46:56on Wake Up Barstool.
46:58The whole sports world is always looking
47:00to hear Collins' takes.
47:01And you know Nick's going to surprise you
47:03on First Things First.
47:04The three voices that set the conversation
47:06only on FS1.
47:12And off on the cart, boy.
47:14Holy cow.
47:15That's Keaton Crawford.
47:17That is unbelievable.
47:18On first down and 10,
47:22it's Carter tossed to the turf by Barrett Carter.
47:26So Michael Carter can't get away from Barrett Carter.
47:30And it's second down.
47:32And you've got to find a way.
47:33We saw it early in that first drive
47:35with the screen pass to Trey McBride.
47:37You've got to find a way to take advantage
47:39of that matchup.
47:42I mean, Cincinnati has struggled mightily
47:44defending tight ends
47:45during the course of the season.
47:47And he's only got one target for the 15 yards.
47:53Play action.
47:55Brissette looking for McBride
47:57off his fingertips.
47:58They're trying to get it to McBride.
48:00Just couldn't pull it in with Dax Hill on coverage.
48:03We talked a lot about Joe Burrow
48:05and his confidence with Jamar Chase, right?
48:07Well, watch it here with Jacoby Brissette here.
48:09This is good coverage by Dax Hill right there.
48:11Playing a little bit underneath in the hands.
48:13You're going to allow one spot for that ball
48:15to get to.
48:15And Jacoby Brissette puts it right there.
48:18Well, you see why you want to get McBride involved.
48:20This Bengals defense has struggled mightily.
48:23In fact, the most allowed in the single season
48:25all time to tight ends entering the week.
48:28But McBride so far, one catch on two targets.
48:35Brissette looking for Harrison.
48:41First target today.
48:42And Dax Hill spikes it away.
48:45Michigan beating Ohio State on that play
48:48at its fourth down.
48:50How about that versatility right there by Dax Hill?
48:52Two plays to go.
48:53He's down inside.
48:54Kind of that nickel slot guy going against
48:56Trey McBride, a bigger body.
48:58And now he's outside playing kind of that true
49:01outside corner going up against Marvin Harrison Jr.
49:03Stride for stride, out of the break.
49:06Beats him back to the football.
49:08So the third three and out, out of four Cardinal drives.
49:11And this one, a low line drive punt,
49:13takes a good Cardinal bounce and picked up
49:15at a 20-yard line.
49:16Looking for a little running room.
49:17And finding it is Keyshawn Williams down the sidelines
49:20across the Arizona 40.
49:21And the Bengals are set up late in the second quarter.
49:25That low line drive return.
49:27Elijah Higgins finally able to wrap him up.
49:32But an outstanding return for Keyshawn Williams.
49:37Yeah, we used to call these boomerang punts, Kevin.
49:39They're coming right back at you.
49:40It's a low line drive.
49:42And Keyshawn Williams fields it really clean.
49:45The majority of that coverage team
49:47was out towards the logo, the middle of the field.
49:50So that right sideline was wide open.
49:52I tell you, it was a nice job by Matt Hawk
49:55of just getting over there and getting,
49:58or Aaron Brewer to get him to turn back inside.
50:02On first down, Chase Brown.
50:04Hole on the left side.
50:05First down and more.
50:06Brown breaking tackles.
50:07Inside the 15 and down.
50:10Near the 11.
50:11Denzel Burke went for a ride the last four yards.
50:15Zach Carter got shedded by Brown.
50:17He picks up 25.
50:18And that'll take us to the two-minute warning.
50:25Joe Burrow says Chase Brown's one of the best backs in the league.
50:29We talked about his pass catching.
50:31About his running ability.
50:32His power.
50:3425 yards later.
50:35And the Bengals knocking on the door in the second quarter.
50:40Verizon halftime coming up with Kurt Terry,
50:42Howie, Michael, and Gronk.
50:44Jonathan Taylor running over the Jaguars.
50:46Stevenson runs it in for the Patriots and the Jets.
50:50Plenty to talk about in the Verizon halftime coming up.
50:53Here's Chase Brown trying to run it in himself.
50:56Blocked off to the left.
50:57Goes back up the middle.
50:58And is down inside the nine-yard line.
51:01Let's go back to that long run that set the Bengals up in this position, though, Darrell.
51:05Yeah, it's one of the things that Zach Taylor talked to us about.
51:07You know, you've got to block space when you're going up against these guys here.
51:11But the big thing is,
51:12Deidrean Taylor-Demerson,
51:13this is the second time we've seen him with a poor angle
51:16as he inserts down into the run support.
51:18A little bit heavy that way.
51:19Easy cutback for Chase Brown.
51:21And I tell you what,
51:22Zach Carter,
51:22great job hustling downfield from the backside end position.
51:26You saved the touchdown.
51:28Illustration of,
51:29you don't have Buda Baker back there
51:31to help out in that run game.
51:32Great point, Kevin.
51:33Second and seven.
51:36Burrow to the air.
51:37To Chase.
51:38To the end zone for the touchdown.
51:40His second of the day.
51:43And the Bengals extend the lead from eight yards out.
51:52You know,
51:52what is our coverage leverage?
51:54I really don't understand because it's just,
51:58watch how he plays them right here.
51:59He's heavy outside.
52:00He's got no help on the inside.
52:02Good.
52:03Deidrean Taylor-Demerson went to the inside receiver
52:06all the way down inside,
52:07but you saw Darren Hall play that
52:09as if he felt he had inside help
52:11because he was heavy on the outside of Jamar Chase.
52:14That was way too easy.
52:16And the extra point this time,
52:18good,
52:18and it's 23 to seven.
52:21Cincinnati.
52:221.15 to play in the second quarter,
52:24and now this from Progressive.
52:29He's just...
52:30Jamar Chase getting congratulations
52:32after finding a very familiar spot,
52:35the end zone,
52:36and putting Cincinnati up 23 to seven,
52:39a minute 15 before halftime.
52:43He knows he's got two today.
52:46But just five on the year,
52:48that was kind of a surprising thing.
52:49Right.
52:50For a guy that...
52:51He's got the catches,
52:52and he's got the yards that are similar,
52:53but just the five touchdowns so far, so...
52:57Well, now the two today makes him seven,
52:59so he's closing in.
52:59Just give me time.
53:00We're not done with the regular season yet.
53:02No, he's...
53:03I've got plenty of time to kind of rip it here a little bit.
53:06And the Who Day chant begins again
53:08as Sims will bring it out from one yard
53:10across the goal line,
53:13and Sims down shy of the 30-yard line.
53:15Cedric Johnson on the tackle.
53:19Well, for Jamar Chase,
53:21when you're talking about this guy,
53:23you're talking about one of the best
53:24that's ever done at least to start.
53:26And he's the first in NFL history
53:27to have 80 catches or more,
53:291,000 yards or more,
53:30and seven receiving touchdowns or more
53:32in each of his first five career seasons.
53:34Think of all the great wide receivers
53:36that have played this game.
53:37And Jamar Chase has done something
53:38that none of them have ever done.
53:41Moose, moose, moose.
53:42Hey, look, it down.
53:44Top!
53:44Now the Cardinals,
53:45who are going to get the football
53:46to start the second half,
53:48go to work,
53:49and a handoff to Amare Di Mercado.
53:52He's down just across the 30-yard line.
53:55I tell you,
53:56one of the things that has really kind of
53:58shown itself here today,
53:59you know, the concerns with the offensive line.
54:01I know Paris Johnson for Arizona.
54:03He went on IR this week.
54:05He became one of the 42 guys
54:07for this team.
54:08But that's the one area I've seen here.
54:10Just not a lot of area to run.
54:12Last week against Atlanta,
54:13there were opportunities for Michael Carter
54:15and the guys in the run game.
54:17I mean, even, you know,
54:19you looked at what, you know,
54:20Corey Kiner did.
54:21You know, he had some nice runs last week.
54:23There hasn't been a lot of openings
54:25for this run game to balance a little bit.
54:28Cardinals use timeout number one.
54:30They have two remaining
54:31with a first down
54:32near the 40-yard line.
54:35Trying to put some points on the board
54:36before they go into the locker room
54:38and have a chance to double up
54:39if they can coming out of the locker room
54:41and get back into this game.
54:43But Cleveland, or rather Cincinnati,
54:45taking full control of this one
54:47with good balance,
54:4975 yards on the ground,
54:51156 yards through the air.
54:54Arizona just trying to put anything together
54:57consistently offensively.
55:07Four-man rush for the Bengals.
55:09Brissette batted down at the line.
55:11A flag is down.
55:12That's an incomplete pass.
55:14Clock will stop on the incompletion.
55:18And we'll see about the flag.
55:20Cedric Johnson is a little slow to get up.
55:31This will be against Arizona.
55:32Holding up and still to 78.
55:35Ten-yard penalty.
55:37Replay first down.
55:40Third penalty of the day.
55:42Yeah, penalty's going to be called
55:43on the left tackle right here,
55:45but Shamara Stewart right there,
55:46I mean, he's got John Gaines,
55:48he's got him on roller skates right there.
55:51So you've got both guys on that left side,
55:53Cedric Johnson and Shamara Stewart
55:55kind of collapse in that pocket.
55:59Now first down and 20 back at the 30-yard line.
56:04That's him.
56:05Tap.
56:10Tap.
56:12And moving early.
56:14I'll start.
56:15Offense number 68.
56:18Five-yard penalty.
56:19First down.
56:20So Kelvin Beacham moving early
56:22and Jonathan Cannon's team
56:23going the wrong direction once more.
56:28Back up to the 25.
56:30First and 25 now for Arizona.
56:35Yeah, and now do we see
56:36Zach Taylor start to use
56:39some of his three timeouts
56:40that he has remaining
56:41to try and get something
56:42where we can get another long field goal attempt
56:44from Evan McPherson.
56:48Yep.
56:49Yep.
56:52First and 25
56:53in an empty backfield.
56:54Brissette sets it up for McBride
56:56looking for some blocks.
56:58And McBride
56:58not going to get very far
56:59down to the 27-yard line.
57:02And we've got a stoppage here
57:04and a timeout used.
57:0633 seconds to go
57:11in this first half
57:12gives us a good chance
57:13to check in with Kurt Menefee.
57:16That's the ultimate sports bar in there.
57:18Yeah.
57:18I think Terry got the best game though.
57:20I like that Jacksonville Indy game.
57:23Tap.
57:28Tap.
57:28Second and 22.
57:32Brissette
57:33wanted Wilson
57:34on the sideline.
57:35That's incomplete
57:36with Turner in coverage.
57:37Clock will stop.
57:3829 seconds
57:40to go in this first half
57:42and a third
57:43and 22
57:44for Arizona.
57:47Angles have all three timeouts
57:48if they want to use them
57:49if they get the stop here
57:51on third and 22.
57:52Yeah, that was an interesting one
57:53by the Cardinals
57:53to take on that last one.
57:55I mean, you're looking at
57:56a really, really challenging
57:58conversion right here
58:00and I would have forced
58:01to see what Zach Taylor
58:02wanted to do
58:03instead of calling
58:04a timeout for our guys.
58:08And now Di Mercado
58:10on third and long
58:11dropped at the 30-yard line.
58:16And a timeout
58:17is used now
58:18by the Bengals.
58:19So the Bengals
58:24take their first timeout.
58:26They've got two remaining
58:2725 seconds to go
58:28in this first half
58:29and remember
58:30we told you
58:30that McPherson
58:32made from 60
58:33each direction
58:34in warm-ups
58:35so if you're Zach Taylor
58:36you're looking at the idea
58:37of putting another three
58:38at least on the board
58:39before halftime.
58:43And Keyshawn Williams
58:44had that 43-yard return
58:46that set up
58:47the Bengals
58:47and Joe Burrow
58:48on the short field
58:49last time
58:49they cashed in
58:50for a touchdown.
58:52He's back
58:52awaiting the punt
58:54from Matt Hawk.
58:54Yeah, I mean
58:55Matt Hawk had one
58:56out at the two
58:56and then he had
58:57that line drive
58:57on the other one.
58:58This one's gonna
58:59this one should be
59:01a little bit better.

59:05Zigs and zags

59:07and down to the 33
59:08but this is likely
59:09backing up
59:10with the flag down.
59:14And that may change
59:15the strategy
59:16for Zach Taylor.
59:17Yeah, you're out
59:19near the 35
59:20with 14 seconds
59:21you've got the
59:22opportunity
59:22for two plays
59:24two good plays
59:25to get into
59:26a potential field goal
59:27attempt.
59:28They get backed up here
59:29I think it'll be
59:30interesting to see
59:30if he changes course.
59:31Holding the seeming team
