00:52It's fitting we're here because for this week's challenge
00:55Shoes will serve as your inspiration
00:59Each of you will design a high fashion look inspired by one of these distinct shoe styles
01:07Your designs should not only complement this fabulous footwear but tell the story of the person you envision wearing it
01:14Those red thigh-high boots are like, please do not give me those
01:19The judges are going to be looking for some serious creativity this week

03:18I actually don't know too much about the black and white saddle shoe

03:23And I think it would be smart to show the judges something new
03:26I'm really gonna tap into like my drag references
03:30This boot just means a lot for the drag community that I know
03:34I've sewn for so many queens in Toronto, it's insane
03:37So I just think that this like strong feminine checkerboard print look could just be so cool on the runway
03:44I'm trying to do something that is creative and still has ties to the drag community
03:50Like I feel like I should be doing it for my dolls, you know

29:09It has that iridescent thing going on so when the lights are hitting it

29:18I want to show the judges tailoring and something that is adventurous and exciting
29:23Of course there's the red showing on the shoulders
29:26And I am so glad I made the skirt shorter
29:30My outfit really exists in the realm of the shoe
29:33Now that is high fashion
29:35This looks a mix of an upper east side and a countryside girl
29:43I really worked on those ruffles to be perfect and to blend in together
29:49And to fit in the color palette
29:52I love it
29:55This to me gives a bit of high fashion you know
29:57And I see the drag that I wanted to bring to it

31:15I'm just confused because I honestly thought you'd be in the top

31:56I picked this shoe because I wanted it to push me outside of my comfort zone

33:55It was a little cheap
33:56It felt like Santa's helper on top
33:59Just her in the middle

34:01The most gorgeous shoes I've ever seen on the bottom

34:31I mean this is my era

34:33I saw these gorgeous 60s boots
34:36And what came to mind was bringing in a bit more deconstruction and edginess

34:44You know I really love this look
34:45I think the panels are very cool
34:47I think it brings in the lines
34:48But I think we needed some color

35:07So I got to pick cowboy boots
35:10I really wanted to do a pair of shafts
35:13To make it a little bit more chic

35:22The pant is consuming the look
35:25It's very beautifully constructed
35:27I think if you just cut away some of the frills
35:30It actually could be quite nice
