Police are still investigating Celeste's death -- they don't know when she died or the cause of death -- and cops have not said if they have a suspect.
00:00We have some new information connected to this case of the girl who was found dead in
00:07the back of singer David's Tesla.
00:10Celeste Revis, the 15-year-old.
00:13And everything we're seeing, and we know law enforcement is currently working on this,
00:18is that her pattern of running away was a real signal to law enforcement that something
00:25they're looking at, that she came from what they're calling a troubled home.
00:29Right.
00:30And we have information about how many times she went missing in early 2024.
00:36And it definitely paints a picture of someone who was clearly, for whatever reasons, trying
00:43to get away from her home.
00:45We know that in early 2024, in January, she went missing.
00:50The cops found her in Hollywood, which is interesting because David now is living in
00:57Hollywood.
00:59But they took her back home where she lives in Lake Elsinore with her family.
01:02That's 70 miles from downtown Los Angeles, quite a ways.
01:05Yes.
01:06And so she was home for a time, but then went missing again.
01:11And at least two more times went missing that spring into summer.
01:17And as we now know, when her family lost contact with her in May of 2024, that's the last time
01:23her mother had contact with her.
01:26We know that because we spoke to her mother last week, information we shared with the police,
01:32and then before they-
01:33That ultimately led them to identify her because she had told us that she had a boyfriend named
01:39David.
01:40Right.
01:41And also this tattoo.
01:42And it helped, I think, authorities identify Celeste.
01:45Celeste.
01:46Now, we are told at least twice law enforcement in Riverside County got involved in trying
01:51to track Celeste down.
01:53And as a matter of fact, Evan, her sister also actually started canvassing the neighborhood
02:00at one point looking.
02:01No, totally.
02:02I think there's been a lot of criticism, at least online, at the family of like why
02:06they didn't do anything, why they didn't look for her.
02:10But in this instance, I spoke to a owner of a liquor store that's down the street from
02:15where Celeste was living in Lake Elsinore.
02:18He knew a lot of the kids in the neighborhood, including Celeste and her family, because the
02:23bus stop for school was right in front of his liquor store.
02:25He said last March, March 19th, Celeste's sister actually came into his liquor store-
02:31A year ago, March?
02:32A year.
02:33This is March 2024.
02:342024.
02:35Right.
02:36Right.
02:37So came into his liquor store looking for her because she had gone missing and asked if
02:39he could look at his surveillance cameras to see if he saw her leaving.
02:43He looked back and saw her at 7 a.m. walking and then running across the street and getting
02:49into a car.
02:50It was too far.
02:51So he couldn't tell what model of the car was or who was in the car.
02:55But he knew Celeste and he knew that that was her that was leaving.
02:58So this was one of the times that she had ran away.
03:01And so one of the things we know, and this we know that law enforcement is looking at
03:05is that how did Celeste kind of traverse Hollywood this way multiple times?
03:13And they say she had numerous fake IDs that made her appear older than she actually was.
03:20Which would seem to track with the fact that if she's going to things, events with David
03:25and going into nightclubs, things like that, you would have to be at the very least 18.
03:33So that would make sense where they're having fake IDs.
03:35And she looks, I mean she was, they found her body a day before her 15th birthday.
03:42So she was 14.
03:43Right.
03:44And, but she looks older than 14.
03:47So it may be just that the appearance may have allowed her with these fake IDs.
03:53Right.
03:54By the way, this is in no way any justification for anything.
03:58I mean it is horrific that, you know, what happened to her.
04:01And the timeline of this becomes really, really important because she disappeared.
04:08And then the question is, when was she, when did she die?
04:11If she was killed, when was she killed?
04:13Right.
04:14And, you know, we know the body was badly decomposed.
04:16Right.
04:17And remember that the body was discovered in the Tesla in that impound yard on September
04:238th.
04:24No, I believe it was the 5th because it was over the weekend.
04:26They discovered the body on Monday the 8th in the impound yard but the car had been towed
04:32there on the 5th.
04:33On the 5th.
04:34It had been abandoned for more than three days on a residential street in the Hollywood
04:38Hills near where David was staying.
04:40So at some point that week before the 5th is when, you know, the body would have been
04:46placed in the car.
04:47Or the car was abandoned.
04:48Now, there is a video going around and the video is a concert that David had on August
04:57either 23rd or 24th in Silver Springs, Maryland.
05:01The video is going around online.
05:03People are looking at this because there's a woman in the balcony who David actually acknowledges
05:08at one point that some people think is Celeste and the reason they're zeroing in on that
05:15is because it closes that it would, if it were her, close the window of time dramatically
05:22for when she was killed.
05:23It would be sometime between the 24th and September, you know, 3rd, 4th or 5th.
05:28So when you look at the picture, there is a similarity for sure.
05:33There's a similarity.
05:34And the other thing that is interesting is she's wearing a black tube top.
05:39That is what-
05:40The police said.
05:41The police said.
05:42Or the medical examiner actually said.
05:43She was wearing when they discovered her body in the Tesla.
05:46So you know, there are similarities in this picture for sure.
05:50And there are people who believe that it's Celeste now.
05:55We have a source connected to the case who is saying that is not Celeste.
06:02Right.
06:03And so if that is not Celeste, it really doesn't open...
06:07It doesn't add any information as far as when she was killed.
06:11And at this point, we're, you know, still waiting for the police to give us some more information.
06:17We know that yesterday they did return Celeste's body to her family, which if they're doing that,
06:25that certainly means that the police...
06:26They've completed their investigation.
06:27They've done all the tests that they're going to do.
06:29And I will say this, a lot of people are wondering how, you know, how could the body be this badly decomposed, especially if it was a short period of time?
06:38Because the thing everybody's wondering is, you know, how does a body end up in his Tesla where it's just parked on a residential street that's fairly busy and trafficked?
06:52As far as the decomposition, it doesn't have to be necessarily a very long time that the body was in there because...
06:59It was very hot in L.A.
07:01And it's sitting in the trunk of a black car here in Los Angeles.
07:05For more than three days.
07:06Right.
07:07At least more than...
07:08It could have been longer than that.
07:09Right.
07:10But we know it was more than three days.
07:12And so, you know, the court...
07:15Look, real talk here.
07:18The medical examiner and the police are unusually quiet in this case.
07:24Yeah.
07:25And we have covered many, many cases with LAPD over 20 years.
07:30And, you know, they do hold their cards close to the vest, but there's wiggle room there.
07:37People talk.
07:38Nobody's talking.
07:39Nobody's talking this time.
07:40Nobody is talking.
07:42And it's just really unusual how they're playing this case.
07:47Yeah.
07:48Definitely.
07:49They have not said yet.
07:50If they have a suspect, they certainly haven't announced it publicly.
07:54That doesn't mean they don't have one.
07:56But they haven't announced...
07:57But they're not sure.
07:58It's almost like they want to make sure they have all their...
08:00The I's dotted and the T's crossed and they're not sharing any of that information.
08:04Or they don't know.
08:05Or they don't know anything at all yet, which...
08:07Wow.
08:08With all the investigation they've done, that would be really shocking.
