00:00Pink chicken is sometimes actually safe to eat. Here's why. The color of chicken
00:05does not actually indicate doneness. Contrary to popular belief, chicken can
00:10sometimes be cooked to 165 degrees and above and still be pink. This can happen
00:16especially sometimes with young chickens because their skin and bones are more
00:21permeable. Therefore, the pigment from the bone marrow can leach into the
00:26chicken. On the flip side, we hate to break it to you, but it is totally possible
00:31for chicken to be undercooked, under 165, and be white. Bottom line, trust your
00:38thermometer. Temperature and the texture is more telling than color.
