00:00:37That is the agenda of this meeting. Usha Vance, first visit to India as the second lady.
00:00:48Foreign Affairs editor Geeta Mohan joining me now on the story. Geeta, this is a very
00:00:52crucial meeting. We understand Prime Minister Modi and Vance will have a
00:00:57a one-to-one conversation. Trade and tariffs obviously one of the top agendas of
00:01:01J.D. Vance.
00:01:03The next is going to be on the ongoing topic between India and the United States of America. That has to do with trade and the tariff wars. There is a very
00:01:17Prime Minister Modi and Vice President Vance is going to be on the ongoing topic between
00:01:24India and the United States of America, and that has to do with trade and the tariff war.
00:01:31There is an understanding between the two countries that the two sides are negotiating
00:01:40at the highest levels to conclude a PTA, a bilateral trade agreement, and so that certainly
00:01:46will be part of the conversation that is going to take place between the two leaders, but
00:01:52there are many other aspects which Prime Minister Modi will also highlight in terms of cooperation,
00:01:58the defense sector, strategic cooperation being a very important aspect of India-U.S. cooperation,
00:02:04and so there is going to be a lot of conversation on that as well. The visit will provide an
00:02:13opportunity for the leaders to review the bilateral relations and the implementation of what
00:02:20are we calling outcomes of the Indo-U.S. joint statements during Prime Minister Modi's visit
00:02:26to the U.S. and his meetings with President Donald Trump. So, the two sides will exchange
00:02:31views on various aspects, bilateral, regional, and global, but that is just part of the visit.
00:02:37He is also going to, we are given to understand, address the India-U.S. forum here in New Delhi,
00:02:44but that's an absolutely closed-door event and there is going to be no access to what he says
00:02:52over there. In fact, he is going to address a gathering of people in Jaipur when he is there
00:02:58on a private tour with his wife and kids.
00:03:05Right, Geetha, please stay on with me. We've got some more news coming in with regards to
00:03:09J.D. Vance and his family's visit to India.
00:03:13Donald Trump's deputy will be landing in India today. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is on a
00:03:18four-day visit to India. He will be holding bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Narenda
00:03:22Modi. The U.S. Vice President, his wife Usha and their three children. From what we understand,
00:03:27they will be reaching at about 10 a.m. and they will be welcomed by a senior union minister.
00:03:32Prime Minister Narenda Modi will host a dinner for U.S. Vice President and the Indian origin
00:03:36Second Lady Usha Vance. After holding talks with American leader, the focus will be on trade,
00:03:42tariff and several other key issues between both the nations. Hours after arriving in Delhi,
00:03:47Vance and his family are scheduled to visit the Swami Narayanan Temple and they could also
00:03:51go for a shopping with regards to traditional Indian handicraft goods. Then, on April 22nd
00:03:57and 23rd, the Vance family is scheduled to visit heritage sites in Jaipur and in Agra.
00:04:02The second most powerful man in Washington is heading to India and he's bringing the whole
00:04:16family along. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife Usha Vance, the first Indian American
00:04:23Second Lady and their children, will begin a four-day visit to India on April 21st. The Vances will land in New Delhi.
00:04:31Starting with a visit to the iconic Red Fort. J.D. Vance will meet National Security Advisor Ajit Doval,

00:04:53for the entire second family. On April 22nd, the Vances head to Jaipur to take in the Pink City's historic charm,
00:05:02followed by a stop in Agra to visit the Taj Mahal. But behind the heritage and sightseeing lies serious business.
00:05:10J.D. Vance arrives amid rising global economic tensions and Trump's aggressive tariff policies. Trade talks are expected to be the top agenda,
00:05:21especially efforts to push forward the long-delayed India-U.S. trade pact, covering tariffs, supply chains and market access.
00:05:30Vance's team says the visit is about aligning economic goals and boosting strategic cooperation.
00:05:37This is J.D. Vance's first official trip to India and it is deeply personal, making this visit part diplomacy, part homecoming.
00:05:48U.S. Second Lady Usha Vance has roots in Vedluru, a small village in Andhra Pradesh.
00:05:54They want to introduce their children to India during the visit.

00:06:08News that's coming in from Canada at the moment.
00:06:10Another temple has been vandalized in Canada.
00:06:13Pro-Khalistani mob has vandalized temples in Surrey in Canada.
00:06:17Lakshmi Narayan temple has been defaced with a lot of graffitis.
00:06:21Canadian MP is condemning the attack on the Hindu temple.
00:06:24Canadian Hindu Chambers of Commerce has now given out a statement and they have condemned this desecration of the temple in Surrey.
00:06:34The Hindu communities in Canada are urging the government to take action against the vandalists,
00:06:39those who associate themselves from the pro-Khalistani movement.
00:06:43Canadian MP is now condemning the attack on the Hindu temple.
00:06:47Our colleague Geeta Mohan is still with me on the story.
00:06:51Geeta, this is unfortunate news coming in from Surrey.
00:06:54Not the first time that we have seen these temples being vandalized in Canada.
00:06:58Well, certainly not the first time and this has become a serious form of so-called anti-India, anti-Hindu tirade in Canada by Khalistani groups.
00:07:15But what's interesting is over here, the Hindu society has not just condemned the vandalism of Lakshmi Narayan's mandir yet again.
00:07:27Again, Lakshmi Narayan's mandir has come under attack many times.
00:07:30And a Canadian member of parliament, Chandra Arya, also goes on to mention that they not only vandalized Lakshmi Narayan,
00:07:40but also Khalistani extremists have targeted Khalsa Diwan society, which is a gurudwara, which is pro-Khalistani graffiti.
00:07:51And in a statement, they have said that a small group of Sikhs are as separatists advocating for Khalistan,
00:07:58the faith, the sacred walls of, with divisive slogans like Khalistan, Zindabad.
00:08:04Now, he's also called for the Indian, the Hindu-Canadians, jointly with the majority of the Sikh Canadians.
00:08:12Remember Aishwarya, it's only a very small percentage of Sikhs in Canada and the United States and America,
00:08:18or for that matter, the UK, who are pro-Khalistani.
00:08:21The rest of them do not want to be involved in this political movement, so to say,
00:08:28and the separatist movement, and are not part of it.
00:08:32So most of the Sikh Canadians do not like the idea of carrying out such activities on foreign soil.
00:08:39To them, it's their own soil.
00:08:41And Chandra Arya has called for Hindu-Canadians and Sikh Canadians to join,
00:08:47to come together and rise with urgency and immediate,
00:08:51besides their actions to be taken against these pro-Khalistani elements.
00:08:56Right. Thank you, Geeta Mohan, Foreign Affairs Editor,
00:08:59bringing us up to date with regards to this latest vandalism that has happened in Surrey.
00:09:04A temple has been vandalized.
00:09:13News that's coming in.
00:09:14It's Rahul Gandhi who has once again raked up the alleged pole fraud that took place in Maharashtra.
00:09:21He spoke while he was in the United States of America.
00:09:24Rahul Gandhi has raked up the Maharashtra election issue while he was in the United States of America.
00:09:29Serious problem with country's election system.
00:09:31This was the statement being made by Rahul Gandhi.
00:09:34Rahul Gandhi is in the United States of America.
00:09:36He's now raked up the Maharashtra pole issue.
00:09:39Listen into what Rahul Gandhi said.
00:09:44More people voted in the Maharashtra assembly elections than there are adults in Maharashtra.
00:09:50This is a fact.
00:09:52This is a fact.
00:09:53So, we asked them that look.
00:09:54Evening.
00:09:55You have video.
00:09:56Videography taking place.
00:09:57If you ask.
00:09:58They not only refused to reverse the videography.
00:09:59They changed the law so that now you're not allowed to ask for the videography.
00:10:03It's very clear to us that the election commission is compromised.
00:10:04It's very clear that there is something very wrong with the system.
00:10:05My colleague Rahul Gautam is now joining me on the story.
00:10:18Rahul, this is something that Rahul Gandhi has spoken time and again.
00:10:21In fact, there was a press conference which was also held with regards to the elections
00:10:26that were held in Maharashtra.
00:10:28Rahul Gandhi in the United States of America also once again raking up the issue.
00:10:33Absolutely, Achwarya.
00:10:34This is not something which for the first time Rahul Gandhi is speaking against.
00:10:40And he rightly pointed out that Rahul Gandhi himself held a press conference with
00:10:44Supriya Sule and Sanjay Rao then in fact, at that point of time, questioned the very election
00:10:51process that was undertaken in the state of Maharashtra.
00:10:55He pointed out how, you know, around 65 lakh names were added at the last five months before
00:11:02assembly post and clearly hinted that he was just not convinced with the entire election
00:11:09mechanism that was the way the election was conducted in the state of Maharashtra.
00:11:13And echoing similar sentiments now, Rahul Gandhi who is now in USA, he is visiting Boston
00:11:22at this point of time.
00:11:23In fact, while speaking with the Indian diaspora there, he repeated the same thing and said
00:11:29that, you know, in a way he again questioned the entire election mechanism of Maharashtra and
00:11:38he also raised several anomalies that he had witnessed in past.
00:11:44So clearly it seems that, as we have seen in past also, it seems that this is going to
00:11:49become a major flashpoint between BJP and Congress because now BJP would use this as an opportunity
00:11:55to create this narrative that Rahul Gandhi is defaming India and democratic system while
00:12:00being on a foreign soil.
00:12:01Right, Rahul, you know, we will also see back home, there will be an impact of what Rahul
00:12:09Gandhi has said because the election commission also came out with a statement and they said
00:12:13that no voting fraud took place.
00:12:15But the Congress party time and again has been speaking about the fact that it was the Congress
00:12:19and the allies who were supposed to win the elections, but that did not happen because
00:12:22of election fraud.
00:12:24Well, as far as election commission is concerned, we all know that election commission has already
00:12:31rejected all the apprehensions and allegations that were leveled against the poll body and
00:12:36in fact they came out with a clarification pointing out that how it was absolutely done
00:12:43under the, you know, guidelines and, you know, laid rules, you know, the process of the list.
00:12:50So, as far as election commission is concerned, they are convinced that no fraud or no anomalies
00:12:54were surfaced at the time of election.
00:12:57But Rahul Gandhi, Congress, opposition, they are pretty convinced that, you know, that the
00:13:03border list, it was manipulated and there were a lot of many discrepancies which were pointed
00:13:10out by opposition leaders.
00:13:11See, we have to really understand that Rahul Gandhi, we all know that whenever he goes on
00:13:18foreign trip and particularly to, you know, America or to, you know, European countries,
00:13:25he always speaks about what he feels, you know, strongly about Indian democratic system.
00:13:30And this has often been lending Congress party in trouble.
00:13:34In past, also, we have seen that how Rahul Gandhi had been raising the issue of Indochina,
00:13:39you know, border issue and other stuff, how minorities are being targeted.
00:13:45And this time he chose to speak about, you know, election process and particularly the state of Manasa.
00:13:51You can, it seems that this is going to set a stage for confrontation between BJP and Congress.
00:13:58And I expect that BJP would now be raising up this issue and good trying to attack Congress in coming days.
00:14:05Thank you, Rahul, giving us those details.
00:14:07This definitely is something that the Bharati Janta Party will be very keenly looking at.
00:14:11Rahul Gandhi once again has raked up the alleged fraud claims that are being made in the state of Maharashtra.
00:14:17We're moving now to the state of Bengal, where days after the riots took place in Mushridabad,
00:14:35there is a shocking video that has emerged.
00:14:37Now, this has come from the violence in district of Mushridabad.
00:14:40Barely the clip is for 21 seconds, but it captures the final moments
00:14:45of the killing of the father-son duo in Mushridabad.
00:14:48Their house was allegedly ransacked with bricks and stones were hurled at the building during the attack.
00:14:54The West Bengal police has arrested one of the prime accused behind this brutal murder of the father-son duo.
00:15:00Hindu families have fled Mushridabad after the violence.
00:15:03They have slowly started returning back to their homes.
00:15:05The victims of the families are living in relief camps.
00:15:08Those who are living in Malda are fearing that there could be attacks in days to come as well.
00:15:13The Supreme Court has scheduled to hear the plea, seeking the court-monitored SIT probe in this matter.
00:15:18The plea is also asking the central government and the state government
00:15:22to ensure protection of life and liberty with regards to those who have been affected by these riots.
00:15:28Other than 50, all have returned as per the latest data.
00:15:35We are here for receiving them.
00:15:37The current situation is absolutely peaceful.
00:15:40Nothing happened after the 12th evening.
00:15:42What happened last again?
00:15:44What happened last morning?
00:15:45What happened last morning?
00:15:46No matter how there was no matter where they were at home.
00:15:49The other person came from point in contact.
00:15:51Some people came from there and their fruits of their homes came from there and theated on the floor went back.
00:15:55So it was just not quite as possible.
00:15:56How about that?
00:15:58It was almost 8 minutes.
00:15:59Yeah, in the morning, 8 minutes.
00:16:01The people came from there, they were completely knocked away from the door.

00:26:59and they are saying this is an attempt to impose Hindi on the language, on the state of Tamil Nadu.
00:27:05Certainly, Ashwarya, what happened is that yesterday, the deputy chief minister of Tamil Nadu,
00:27:09Udini J. Stalin, was addressing a group of students.
00:27:12This is when he very clearly stated that the foundation of Tamil Nadu is in Tamil
00:27:16and there are several forms of attack over Tamil itself.
00:27:20And he claims, Udini J. Stalin claims that new education policy, three language policy are different names to such attacks
00:27:27and he also cautioned students, claiming that no matter how big the argument is,
00:27:32always remember the truth and he wanted the students to actually concentrate on the truth.
00:27:37However, the bigger issue is that, just like you mentioned, in the state of Tamil Nadu,
00:27:41the DMK government has completely opposed to new education policy and the three language policy,
00:27:45which in certain is also the same stance of AIA-DMK, who is also in alliance with BJP right now.
00:27:50But the very important aspect is that, DMK claims that all these are nothing but a form of imposition
00:27:56in the end of Hindi in Tamil Nadu, Ashwarya.
00:28:00Thank you, Pramod, giving us those details.
00:28:02In the state of Tamil Nadu, the top leaders have been saying that this is an Hindi imposition
00:28:06under the garb of the new education policy and Tamil as a state will not accept it.
00:28:10News that's coming in at the moment.

00:29:20He will be holding a bilateral conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
00:29:23Tariffs and trade talks, that's on agenda.
00:29:26U.S. Vance, this is her first visit to India as the second lady of the United States of America.
00:29:32Crucial talks will take place between Indian officials and U.S. officials in this very crucial meeting
00:29:38that is all set to take place over the course of the next four days.
00:29:42U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, second lady Ushah Vance and their children, all of them,
00:29:47have been planned for India. They are coming in from Rome.
00:29:49This will be his first official visit to India.
00:29:52What more India and U.S. can do with regards to trade, what can happen with regards to tariffs,
00:29:57all those things will be ironed out.
00:30:00In fact, the visuals that you are seeing on your screens are hoardings of the U.S. Vice President,
00:30:04J.D. Vance.
00:30:04They have been put up near the Palom airport and in the Chanak Kippur area.
00:30:08The bilateral meeting between J.D. Vance and Prime Minister Modi will be very crucial
00:30:16with regards to the trade talks going on between U.S. and India.
00:30:20My colleague Shashank Matto is now joining me on the story.
00:30:22Shashank, it will be tariff, it will be trade, the talks for the agenda,
00:30:26and what more can happen between India and U.S.
00:30:28That will be on agenda in this very crucial meeting that will take place
00:30:31between Prime Minister Modi and J.D. Vance.
00:30:34Well, at this point in time, we understand that the purpose of the visit
00:30:37is a little bit personal, a little bit political personal, of course,
00:30:40because J.D. Vance is accompanied by his family.
00:30:43We understand that part of the idea, of course, of going to Jaipur and Agra,
00:30:47those are the other legs of his visit here in India,
00:30:50are to introduce his children to Indian culture, to the heritage of their mother, Ushawans.
00:30:54But, of course, there's the political side of engagements as well.
00:30:57There's going to be a major meeting with Prime Minister Modi.
00:31:00There were other meetings scheduled as well, but those were unable to go through
00:31:03because of changes in Vice President Vance's schedule.
00:31:06But, absolutely, this visit matters for both countries, number one,
00:31:09because they intend to review the work that has happened on the bilateral partnership,
00:31:13definitely also review the India-U.S. trade deal talks, how those are going forward.
00:31:18Also, a new initiative on technology called Trust is expected to be inaugurated
00:31:23during J.D. Vance's visit.
00:31:24So, there's a slew of things that are expected to be achieved.
00:31:27But, absolutely, India will be looking to have a good relationship with Vance, number one,
00:31:31because he's someone who is seen to have the ear of Donald Trump, the President of the United States.
00:31:36Also, because, very likely, in the next year or two,
00:31:38you're going to see J.D. Vance announce his own candidacy for the presidency.
00:31:41And that is going to be something that India is going to want to get in the head on,
00:31:45to have a relationship with J.D. Vance,
00:31:47so that when he does start for the presidency of the United States,
00:31:49you have a very good relationship with someone who will probably be a very prominent politician going forward.
00:31:55Thank you, Shah, for giving us those details,
00:31:58and also bringing out the fact that India would need to have a very good relationship,
00:32:02and this will be the building blocks of that relationship going forward.
00:32:05This is Donald Trump's deputy, who will be landing in India today.
00:32:12U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is on a four-day visit to India,
00:32:15and he'll be holding bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
00:32:19The U.S. Vice President, his wife, Usha, and their three children,
00:32:22all of them will be in India at around 10 a.m.,
00:32:25and they'll be welcomed on their arrival by a senior union minister.
00:32:28Prime Minister Modi will then be hosting a dinner for the U.S. Vice President
00:32:32and the Indian-origin second lady, Usha Vance.
00:32:35Both of them will also be holding talks with the American leader
00:32:38with regards to trade, tariff, and several other key issues between both the nations.
00:32:43As after arriving in Delhi, Vance and his family are scheduled to visit
00:32:46the Swaminarayan and Akshadhan temple,
00:32:48and they could even go to a shopping complex to buy Indian handicraft goods.
00:32:52Then on the 22nd and the 23rd of April,
00:32:55the Vance family is scheduled to visit heritage sites in Jaipur and in Agra.
00:33:02The second most powerful man in Washington is heading to India,
00:33:12and he's bringing the whole family along.
00:33:15U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife, Usha Vance,
00:33:19the first Indian-American second lady and their children,
00:33:23will begin a four-day visit to India on April 21st.
00:33:27The Vance's will land in New Delhi, starting with a visit to the iconic Red Fort.
00:33:34J.D. Vance will meet National Security Advisor Ajit Doval,
00:33:39External Affairs Minister S.J. Shankar, and BJP President J.P. Nada.
00:33:44He's also scheduled for a key sit-down with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
00:33:48There will be a formal dinner hosted by the Prime Minister for the entire second family.
00:33:53On April 22nd, the Vance's head to Jaipur to take in the pink city's historic charm,
00:34:00followed by a stop in Agra to visit the Taj Mahal.
00:34:04But behind the heritage and sightseeing lies serious business.
00:34:09J.D. Vance arrives amid rising global economic tensions and Trump's aggressive tariff policies.
00:34:15Trade talks are expected to be the top agenda,
00:34:19especially efforts to push forward the long-delayed India-U.S. trade pact,
00:34:24covering tariffs, supply chains and market access.
00:34:29Vance's team says the visit is about aligning economic goals and boosting strategic cooperation.
00:34:36This is J.D. Vance's first official trip to India and it is deeply personal,
00:34:40making this visit part diplomacy, part homecoming.
00:34:46U.S. second lady Usha Vance has roots in Vedluru, a small village in Andhra Pradesh.
00:34:52They want to introduce their children to India during the visit.
00:34:57Bureau Report, India Today Global.
00:34:58Now the big question everyone is asking is what's on Vance's agenda?
00:35:06Evaluation of the Indo-U.S. trade talks.
00:35:08That's something that will be point number one that will be discussed.
00:35:12Meet the fall deadline for the trade deal between U.S. and India.
00:35:16That's also something that is the top of the agenda.
00:35:20Trade deal, regional security is also some of the top goals that the leaders will be discussing.
00:35:24Global developments with mutual interest is also something that's on agenda
00:35:28and strengthening the overall bilateral ties between United States of America and India.
00:35:33That's something that we will see being discussed between the top leaders of the government as well as J.D. Vance.
00:35:40So this is the agenda that we will see playing out in the next 24 to 48 hours.
00:35:45Evaluation of Indo-U.S. trade talks.
00:35:47That's something that's crucial at the moment.
00:35:49Now let's also talk about the second lady, Ushah Vance.
00:35:57Born in St. Diego to Indian immigrant parents, traces her origins to the state of Andhra Pradesh.
00:36:02Ushah's father, mechanical engineer from IIT Madras.
00:36:07Graduated from rail, served as the lawyer clerk for multiple federal judges.
00:36:12Married to J.D. Vance in 2014.
00:36:14So that's the backdrop and the background of the second lady, Ushah Vance and her Indian roots.
00:36:23Crucial meeting will take place between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Vice President of the United States of America, J.D. Vance.
00:36:30Bilateral meeting will take place with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
00:36:33Prime Minister will also be hosting the family to a dinner.
00:36:37In this dinner, we will see a lot of things being talked about.
00:36:41Stranding overall bilateral ties is the top agenda.
00:36:44Global developments, what are taking place across the globe with regards to mutual interest of both U.S. and India.
00:36:50That's also something that we will see being talked about.
00:36:54Trade, that's something that obviously is on the top of the agenda.
00:36:57And regional security is also something that will be spoken about.
00:37:00It's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump, those who have been speaking about the fact that wars need to stop.
00:37:07My colleague Shashank Mattu is now joining me on the story.
00:37:10Shashank, this is a very crucial meet that will take place on the top of the agenda.
00:37:14Obviously trade, but also spending of the bilateral ties is something that the U.S. and India at the moment are very keenly looking at.
00:37:22Absolutely.
00:37:23Look, at this point in time, we know that J.D. Vance is not necessarily involved in trade issues.
00:37:27But I think the key point to remember is, number one, if he is someone who on foreign policy issues happens to have the ear of President Donald Trump,
00:37:36we know that, of course, he was sent to deliver a very strong message to Europe back when he went for the Munich Security Conference on security on Ukraine,
00:37:43which shows that Donald Trump trusts him to deliver tough security messages and foreign policy messages abroad.
00:37:48This is, of course, he also just went to Italy, which is another valued partner for Donald Trump.
00:37:52And of course, now he is in India, while the visit is undoubtedly focused on the cultural side.
00:37:57And the important thing from the Indian side is to make sure that there is a strong relationship with J.D. Vance,
00:38:02that India's concerns, India's priorities are conveyed through him to President Donald Trump.
00:38:07So you're right on trade, on technology, on commerce.
00:38:11There are going to be a number of priorities that India will want to pursue with the U.S. administration.
00:38:15And of course, the vice president does have a close relationship with Donald Trump.
00:38:19And so in a position where India needs another interlocutor in the White House to go and push for India's view to cooperate with India,
00:38:27J.D. Vance would likely be that figure.
00:38:29Everything we've seen in the past shows that he does seem to be well disposed towards India.
00:38:33And of course, the second part of this is that vice presidents in American politics do have a tendency to become
00:38:37the president of the United States at one point in time in their careers.
00:38:40And of course, this is a good opportunity to maintain a strong relationship with someone who is likely to be a very prominent politician in the future.
00:38:47Right, Shashank, also we understand that at the moment, both U.S. and India are also looking at making sure
00:38:55that the global jitters that we have seen with regards to markets, those are somehow contained.
00:39:00That's also something that's very crucial at the moment.
00:39:03Absolutely. That is something that will concern India.
00:39:06Of course, Indian share markets in particular were badly hit by announcements of reciprocal tariffs.
00:39:11We also know that both sides are moving very quickly towards a bilateral trade agreement.
00:39:16The idea is to first have what is known as an early harvest deal, which is that both sides quickly make concessions
00:39:22so that you have some sort of deal going forward and then you have a more comprehensive agreement moving forward.
00:39:27So the Indian hope is that by getting concessions and giving concessions,
00:39:31the idea is that a lot of these tariffs will then be phased out and India will not have to be hit by these reciprocal tariffs,
00:39:37which at this point in time have been delayed.
00:39:39But absolutely, I think there is going to be some discussion during this meeting with J.D. Vance
00:39:43about India's concerns about the trading relationship, about these tariffs that have been placed
00:39:47and also on the broader India-U.S. economic relationship and what it means for the global economy.
00:39:52Thank you, Shushan, giving us all those details and putting things in perspective with regards to this very crucial meeting
00:39:59between Prime Minister Modi and the United States Vice President J.D. Vance.
00:40:03Now, Prime Minister Modi has a gift diplomacy.
00:40:06Dokra artwork musicians with stone-studded work from Rajasthan is something that Prime Minister Modi has already gifted.
00:40:13A stamp to French First Lady was given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
00:40:17A wooden railway toy was something that Prime Minister gifted.
00:40:20Now, to the VP, that is J.D. Vance's son Vivek, a jigsaw puzzle of old Indian paintings.
00:40:26That's something that Prime Minister Modi gave.
00:40:28To VP Vance's second son, Ivan, eco-friendly wooden alphabet set was given by Prime Minister Modi.
00:40:34To VP Vance's daughter, Mirabel, gift has been given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
00:40:39So, this is the gift diplomacy that we have seen playing in front of our eyes over the past many years.
00:40:44These gifts, which are Indian, are being given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi whenever he visits abroad.
00:40:58News that's coming in from the state of Karnataka now.
00:41:00Former Karnataka DGP is found dead in his Bengaluru home.
00:41:04Former Karnataka Director General of Police, Om Prakash, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his Bengaluru house on Sunday.
00:41:12The initial reports are indicating the authorities actually found out that he was dead in his Bengaluru home.
00:41:18Sources have told India today, retired DG Om Prakash, murder is a shocking case.
00:41:23Mental health angle also is now emerging in this case.
00:41:27New revelations point towards a very serious mental health issue in the family.
00:41:31Om Prakash's wife, who is now an accused in the case, had reportedly been battling shrixophenia over the past 12 years and was undergoing treatment.
00:41:39Sources have told India today, she often remained in a delusional state, imagining things and getting anxious over baseless thoughts.
00:41:48Family members during investigation also revealed she frequently used to express fear, claiming that her husband might harm her.
00:41:55And she also alleged that her husband brandished a gun to threaten her on multiple occasions.
00:42:00These are shocking revelations which have now come to the fore with regards to the murder of the retired DG in the state of Karnataka.
00:42:12Shocking mental health issues are now also emerging.
00:42:15New revelations are pointing towards serious mental health issues in the family.
00:42:20My colleague Sagai Raj is now joining me on the story.
00:42:22Sagai, many twists and turns are now coming out in the open.
00:42:27The retired DG Om Prakash's murder case has now brought forth shocking mental health angles also.
00:42:33Absolutely, what we get to learn through our sources is the wife Pallavi was suffering from schizophrenia and she was undergoing treatment from past 12 years.
00:42:44And if you Google and see the kind of treatment which was given and the kind of mental instability that she was going through,
00:42:52it clearly shows that all was not well within the family.
00:42:56And what you also get to hear is there was also a dispute of property that the family members were arguing where Om Prakash had given few properties to the family members,
00:43:08that is his sisters and brothers.
00:43:10And she had questioned that why you have even given the property to them.
00:43:13And what you also get to learn from our sources is especially an inspector who has spoken to media,
00:43:19he has categorically mentioned that time and again there was argument in their house and he was a VIP security who was deployed as a resident.
00:43:29And he also claimed that she was mentally unstable.
00:43:32And even Om Prakash had expressed his grievances, expressed that what all was happening inside their house,
00:43:39even with the senior officers as well as these kind of officers whenever they visit their house.
00:43:44As he speaks now, FIR has been registered.
00:43:46His son Kartikesh has registered an FIR and the investigation is undergoing.
00:43:53Right. Thank you, Sagai, for giving us those details.
00:43:56The investigation is undergoing.
00:43:58Retired DG Om Prakash's murder case coming in from the state of Karnataka.
00:44:02Shocking mental health issues are now also emerging in the investigation that is taking place.
00:44:07New revelations are pointing towards serious mental health issues.
00:44:11His wife has been battling strexophenia over the past 12 years and was undergoing treatment.
00:44:15Family members are also revealing that she used to fear that her husband would harm her and also alleging that her husband brandished a gun to threaten her on multiple occasions.
00:44:26The story is that the former Karnataka DGP has been found dead in his Bengaluru home.
00:44:30Former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his Bengaluru residence.
00:44:36The initial reports are now indicating that stab wounds were found in his stomach and in his neck.
00:44:42His wife, Pallavi, has been detained by the police.
00:44:45She is the prime suspect in this alleged murder mystery case.
00:44:48She is currently being interrogated by the police.
00:44:51Their daughter also has been detained for questioning in connection with this case.
00:44:55Om Prakash was a native of Champaran in Bihar.
00:44:58He was a 1981 batch IPS officer from the Karnataka Kader.
00:45:01He served as the DGP and the Inspector General of Police from 2015 until he retired in 2017.
00:45:07Today, around 4, 4.30 in the afternoon, the information of death of Sri Om Prakash, ex-DG and IGP of Karnataka state, was received.
00:45:24See, there is a lot of blood loss, possibly that may be the region for death.
00:45:30So, sharp weapon has been used, it seems, initially, prima facie, because of which the death has happened.
00:45:41Complaint is still getting formalized.
00:45:44Once the complaint is given, a fire will be registered.
00:45:47Every single aspect will be taken up.
00:45:49And once we are clear with the incident, we will take further action.
00:45:53My colleague, Sagai Raj, is joining me on the story.
00:45:57Sagai, this is a shocking case which has come to the fore.
00:46:00If you can throw some light on what exactly the investigations at the moment are pointing towards.
00:46:07The investigation is pointing towards the family in Indianapolis.
00:46:09Because there were only three people when this particular murder took place at its residence in the SSR layout.
00:46:15One is the wife, Pallavi, and two is the daughter, Krithi, and the husband, Om Prakash.
00:46:21What we also get to learn through our sources is all three were there at that point of time.
00:46:25And according to sources, the wife has alleged that whenever they had some kind of fight between them,
00:46:31Om Prakash used to threaten them with a revolver.
00:46:34And they were quite apprehensive that whenever there is a small quarrel between them or family dispute,
00:46:40Om Prakash used to threaten saying that he will shot them using that particular revolver.
00:46:45And she was mentally unstable and she was in a lot of hallucination that what is going to happen with her family,
00:46:52especially the kind of disputes or the kind of fight they had.
00:46:56And keeping all these things in the mind, the police are interrogating.
00:46:59The affair has been registered by his own son, Kartikesh.
00:47:03And he himself has alleged that his mother, Pallavi, has executed this particular murder.
00:47:08And with the help of Krithi, and the police are investigating further in the same angle as well.
00:47:15Sagar, please stay on with me.
00:47:16We've got some more breaking news coming in with regards to the slain top cop's death.
00:47:20The son has now gone ahead and filed an F.I.R.
00:47:24The son is blaming the mother and his sister for this murder.
00:47:28The son in the F.I.R. said, my mother has been mentally unstable.
00:47:31This is the latest which is coming in with regards to Karnataka Top Corp's murder case.
00:47:36The slain top cop's son has now lodged an F.I.R.
00:47:39The son has started to blame his mother and his sister.
00:47:42In the F.I.R., he has explicitly said that his mother was mentally unstable.
00:47:46My colleague, Sagar, is still with me on the story.
00:47:51Sagar, you were mentioning that the F.I.R. has been filed by the son.
00:47:54The son clearly saying that his mother was mentally unstable.
00:47:57In fact, has even gone ahead and named his sister for the murder.
00:48:03Absolutely, all pointing out his mother.
00:48:05And what we also get to learn through our sources is since her sister, Krithi,
00:48:08and daughter of Om Prakash was present at the house.
00:48:11And definitely, the police are also suspecting her involvement in this particular murder.
00:48:16So, they have taken both of them into custody.
00:48:19An F.I.R. has been registered against both of them.
00:48:21And they are investigating further.
00:48:23And remember that she is the one who called 112, the emergency contact number,
00:48:28immediately after this particular murder.
00:48:29The wife has called the police and informed them about this particular murder.
00:48:33But she was reluctant to open the doors of the house when the police reached out to her house.
00:48:38So, the police are investigating in all possible angles.
00:48:41The allegations made by the family members as well as the neighbors.
00:48:45And at that point of time, there was no VIP security which was being deployed
00:48:49because Om Prakash has requested the VIP security not to come on that particular day.
00:48:53There was argument in the house.
00:48:55And the police have recorded everything in the affair.
00:48:58And they are investigating further in all possible angles.
00:49:03Right. Thank you, Sakai, giving us those details.
00:49:06In the F.I.R., the son has clearly mentioned his mother and his sister for the murder.
00:49:11It's the son who's gone ahead and filed an F.I.R.
00:49:13And he's saying that his mother was mentally unstable.
00:49:17News that's coming in at the moment.
00:49:19A Hindu temple and a Guru Dwara, they have been vandalized in Canada.
00:49:23A pro-Khalistani mob has vandalized the temple in Surrey in Canada.
00:49:27A Guru Dwara in Vancouver has been defaced.
00:49:30And all this has been done by a pro-Khalistani mob.
00:49:33The Lakshmi Narayan temple has been defaced with graffiti.
00:49:36Canadian MP has condemned the attack on Hindu temple.
00:49:39Canadian MP has condemned the attack on the Hindu temple and on the Guru Dwara.
00:49:44One incident has come in from Vancouver where a Guru Dwara has been defaced.
00:49:49And the other incident has come in from Surrey in Canada where they have vandalized the Lakshmi Narayan temple.
00:49:55Images that you have seen on your screens are of the Hindu temple and the Guru Dwara that has been vandalized in Canada.
00:50:02A pro-Khalistani mob vandalized the temple in Surrey in Canada.
00:50:07And a Guru Dwara in Vancouver has been defaced by the pro-Khalistani mob.
00:50:11The Lakshmi Narayan temple has been defaced with graffiti.
00:50:14Those are the images.
00:50:15Kalistan's Zindabad has been written on the walls of the temple.
00:50:21These graffitis have been drawn right outside the temple.
00:50:24The temple has been vandalized.
00:50:26The temple has been defaced.
00:50:35Joining me on the broadcast, Daniel Broadman from Surrey.
00:50:39Daniel, I would like to start by asking you, this is not the first time.
00:50:42The authorities have time and again given India the assurance that these kind of incidents will not take place.
00:50:47But unfortunately, we see these kind of incidents happening time and again.
00:50:51Yeah, attacking religious places of worship is just the thing that happens in Canada nowadays.
00:50:57So we have a Hindu temple.
00:50:58We have a Sikh Dwara vandalized by Kala Sanchez on Easter weekend.
00:51:02In the last few years, we've had hundreds of churches for arson attack, burn down, vandalized off of radical Marxists.
00:51:09And of course, jihadis are attacking synagogues over the last 18 months since October 7th.
00:51:14That happens in Canada a lot, too.
00:51:16So, no, yeah, yeah, Canada is a place where places of worship get vandalized and attacked by different types of religious or extremists, ideological extremists.
00:51:27All the time, all the time.
00:51:28It happens all the time.
00:51:29And it will continue to happen until someone does something about it.
00:51:33Daniel, do you think someone will do something about it?
00:51:36Because this is not painting a good picture.
00:51:38And time and again, we have seen, especially with regards to India, India has been raising these issues.
00:51:43The Hindus there have been speaking against it.
00:51:45But unfortunately, it seems like there is no full stop to these kind of incidents, especially when we speak about temples.
00:51:53Yeah, this is kind of, you know, this is how extremists operate.
00:51:58And that's why they want to attack religious places of worship.
00:52:01Because, I mean, especially the churches and maunders and difficult wars, like when, when into an extremist, when you vandalize a temple, you're going to a hearted community saying, ha ha, we own you.
00:52:12And the Kalistanis kind of get off on the fact that they can get away with violence again and again and again.
00:52:16And no one seems to stop them.
00:52:19I mean, I mean, listen, if you want to think, like, I went to the Goudoiras.
00:52:25I found it.
00:52:26Like, it was tagged by the Akil force.
00:52:28And the Akil force were the same people who came up and threatened and harassed me at the Versace Day Parade in Surrey the day before.
00:52:36So, I mean, it's all on video.
00:52:37I mean, if the police, I hope it worked with them, want to try and find the potential vandals.
00:52:42I think I have a clue.
00:52:44It's all on camera.
00:52:45You could do something.
00:52:45I'll help.
00:52:46If anyone in Canada wants to do something, I will help them.
00:52:49But, yeah, will there be political?
00:52:52I don't see the—I mean, we're in British Columbia, which is run by the NDP.
00:52:57The NDP aren't going to do anything about it.
00:52:58I mean, the provincial federal NDP are kind of the same party in Jagmeet's Kalistani.
00:53:03So, not happening there.
00:53:05And then it comes down to the different Surrey and Vancouver police forces.
00:53:10Will they take action against this?
00:53:13And, you know, that—I know they've been called, and I'm sure they'll open a file.
00:53:22How that will go, yet to be seen.
00:53:25If we're taking bets on polymarket, on will the vandals be brought to justice, and the odds are 50-50,
00:53:33I'm going to take as much money as I own out of the bank, mortgage my house, and then become a millionaire.
00:53:37So, there's where we are.
00:53:39Daniel, anything from the government at the moment with regards to—
00:53:45Is there any plan, do you think, that the government has, or the police has, to somehow stop this from happening?
00:53:50Because it's not just the temples.
00:53:51As you were mentioning, we are seeing different places of worship being attacked by the vandals.
00:53:57Yeah, there could be a statement released by the party 48 hours after any temple attack.
00:54:03That is our plan, to see if we can stop the—
00:54:06That's how we stop the churches burning down, the synagogues from being attacked.
00:54:09The maunders from being safe, and now the gudwaras from being safe, is about 48 hours after they attacked.
00:54:16The politicians get out, and one by one say that all violence is bad, and temples should be safe places of worship.
00:54:23And we hope by saying—by creating the perfect statement that manages to kind of touch on the idea,
00:54:29but say nothing of substance about it.
00:54:31If we can get the perfect statement that says absolutely nothing, then maybe something will happen.
00:54:36I believe that is a strategy going forward.
00:54:40Right. Thank you, Daniel Broadman, for joining me.
00:54:43From Skurry, he at the moment is saying that we could see a statement of sorts coming out,
00:54:47but nothing on the ground, because that is something that we have seen playing out in the past as well.
00:55:00News that's coming in.
00:55:01It's the UCC push amid the work law, firestorm that we are seeing.
00:55:05The government set for the Uniform Civil Code.
00:55:07Next, BJP makes UCC intent very, very clear.
00:55:11In the video, BJP says, one India, one law.
00:55:16We are now seeing that it's the Supreme Court that is now looking at the work law,
00:55:21but the government seems to be undeterred.
00:55:24There's a video that has been posted by the BJP.
00:55:26In the video, one can very clearly see that the government is all set for the Uniform Civil Code.
00:55:31Next.
00:55:33My colleague Piyush is now joining me on the story.
00:55:36Piyush, the video very clearly says, one India, one law.
00:55:39The Supreme Court at the moment is listening to all the petitions with regards to the work law.
00:55:44The government seems undeterred by that.
00:55:46Well, absolutely, Aishwarya.
00:55:48What we are now hearing is that very soon, the government could bring some provision
00:55:54or some steps could be taken as far as bringing the Uniform Civil Code across the country is concerned.
00:55:59Remember that two states like Uttarakhand, Gujarat and others,
00:56:02they've already, in Uttarakhand, in fact, has already implemented.
00:56:06Gujarat is in the process and two states are mulling to implement their own UCC.
00:56:10At the same time, what we are now hearing from sources within the BJP is that very soon,
00:56:15the Modi government could bring in some sort of provisions as to how to implement Uniform Civil Code across the country.
00:56:22And this has also become very clear after the video which has been shared by Bharat in the party
00:56:28on its official account where they have not only highlighted the achievements of Modi government 3.0,
00:56:34but in the end of that particular video, it is mentioned that Uniform Civil Code loading,
00:56:40which means that the government is working on bringing UCC and to implement it across the country.
00:56:47Thank you, Piyush, for giving us those details.
00:56:49Varthi Jinta Party has posted a video on X and they are saying that One Nation, One Law loading,
00:56:54which means that the government is now looking at UCC next after bringing in the Waflore.
00:56:58We are moving now to the state of West Bengal, where days after the riots took place in Murshidabad,
00:57:16there is a shocking video that has emerged from the violence-hit district.
00:57:20In just 21 seconds, the final moments of the father-son duo who were killed in Murshidabad have been captured.
00:57:26Their house was ransacked, with bricks and stones were hurled at the building when the attack took place.
00:57:32The West Bengal police has arrested one of the prime accused behind this brutal murder of the father and the son duo.
00:57:38Hindu families who fled Murshidabad after the violence have started to return back home.
00:57:42The victim families are still living in the relief camps in Malda.
00:57:46They are fearing that more attacks could take place in future.
00:57:49It's the Supreme Court that is scheduled to hear a plea seeking court-monitored SIT to probe the matter.
00:57:54The plea has also asked the central and the state government to ensure protection of life and liberty
00:57:59with regards to those who have been affected in these gruesome riots.
00:58:03What happened? Tell us a little bit.
00:58:06Yesterday, yesterday, it was not a matter of time.
00:58:11The other man who came from here, came from here and came from here.
00:58:16Then, they took place.
00:58:18How many hours? 8 o'clock?
00:58:20It started at 8 o'clock at 8 o'clock at 8 o'clock at 8 o'clock at 8 o'clock at 8 o'clock at 8 o'clock at 8 o'clock.
00:58:22The police are 28 o'clock at 8 o'clock.
00:58:40Other than 50 all have returned as per latest data and we are here for receiving them.
00:58:49Current situation is absolutely peaceful. Nothing happened after 12th evening.
00:59:10It is a very good thing and the same thing was the culture of Bengal.
00:59:20It is still the same.
00:59:22It is the same thing that everyone wanted and it will continue.
00:59:40There is a bitter war that is now being fought in the state of West Bengal.
00:59:56The BJP on one side and the central government on one side,
01:00:00the TMC and Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister on the other side.
01:00:03Mamata Banerjee, since the 11th of April, has been giving out statements
01:00:07and has been making an appeal to the people so that peace can return.
01:00:11People have now started returning to Murshidabad,
01:00:13but those who fled their homes in Malda are still fearing
01:00:16that violence could take place in days to come.
01:00:21Days after the violence erupted in West Bengal's Murshidabad district,
01:00:25it's the chief minister Mamata Banerjee who has now issued a public appeal
01:00:28urging citizens to maintain peace and unity.
01:00:32The NCW chief who met victims has now submitted a report to the central government
01:00:36after she spoke with the victims.
01:00:51Bengal's Murshidabad is slowly recovering from widespread clashes over the VUX law.
01:00:57But for some of the worst victims of the attack, there's still no relief in sight.
01:01:01Displaced by rioters' mobs, these women are still holed up in shelters.
01:01:11The women's panel chief who visited the rioted areas spoke to women who were attacked by rioters.
01:01:17As per the report prepared by the women's commission, women were attacked,
01:01:24their homes looted and set on fire.
01:01:47As per the women's commission did not stop the war.
01:02:09The women's commission chief also appealed to the Mamata government on the exodus, asking it to take prompt action.
01:02:39Meanwhile, in an open letter, Chief Minister Mamata appealed for peace, but blamed the BJP and RSS for the riots, accusing them of spreading hatred and lies.
01:03:09The BJP is hit back at the TMC, reiterating its demand for AFSPA.
01:03:14The BJP even claimed that Trinambul Congress instigated rioters to attack Hindus.
01:03:39The Bengal cops, meanwhile, Nabdaki conspirator and the father-son duo murder case.
01:03:44Ziaul Sheikh was arrested from North Dinajpur.
01:03:47Ziaul led the violent mob which attacked their Hindu house and killed the father-son duo.
01:03:52Bureau Report, India Today.
01:03:58My colleague Rajesh Saha is now joining me on the story.
01:04:00Rajesh, unfortunate video that has come to the fore in barely 21 seconds.
01:04:05One can very clearly see how the family members were being killed.
01:04:08The father-son duo were killed brutally.
01:04:11This is a heart-wrenching video which has come from the state of West Bengal.
01:04:19Vaishwarya, nothing can be more painful than this video.
01:04:22This 21 seconds video shows the last moment of Harugavindu Dash and Chandu Dash.
01:04:27The father-son duo who were killed brutally on the last 12th of April in Murshidwar district during the violence.
01:04:35And this father and son duo were dragged out from their house and brutally killed by the violent mob.
01:04:45And this 21 seconds video shows the father Harugavindu Dash was lying in a pool of blood.
01:04:52And his son Chandu Dash is also lying on the ground.
01:04:56And after this, West Bengal Police formed a special investigation team
01:05:00which is currently investigating the murder case, the double murder case in Murshidwarad
01:05:05along with other violence cases also.
01:05:08And let me tell you, already four people have been arrested in this double murder case in Murshidwarad district.
01:05:15The special investigation team formed by West Bengal Police and the special task force of Bengal Police
01:05:20have already arrested fourth accused on the day before yesterday.
01:05:25And he was literally leading the mob, the violent mob, which mob gathered near the house of Harugavindu Dash and Chandu Dash
01:05:35and dragged them out from their house and killed them brutally.
01:05:39West Bengal Police is currently saying that they are still investigating the murder case.
01:05:44They're trying to know, they have already started interrogation.
01:05:46They are interrogating all those four arrested accused and trying to know what was the motive, what was the reason behind this murder.
01:05:55Was that completely communal or was there any previous grudges between this mob,
01:06:01between the people who are present in the mob and Harugavindu Dash and Chandu Dash?
01:06:06Aishwarya.
01:06:07Thank you, Rajesh, giving us those details.
01:06:09The police at the moment is now looking at all the angles.
01:06:12The prime accused in this case has been arrested so far.
01:06:16There's a big political storm that is taking place over Murshidabad violence and it is intensifying.
01:06:22Political war of words over the violence that took place on the 11th of April in Murshidabad continues to escalate.
01:06:29Both the BJP and the TMC are engaged in a fierce face-off over this issue.
01:06:33Claiming that it's the Hindus who are in threat in Bengal, the BJP continues to demand the NIA to probe this violence.
01:06:40In fact, Congress's Adirajan Chaudhuri has accused Bengal police of being ill-equipped to manage such violence.
01:06:46The CPIM has called for judicial probe in the violence, criticizing both the TMC and the BJP.
01:06:52According to CPIM, both of them are engaging in competitive communalism.
01:06:57Mamata Banerjee has in fact written an open letter.
01:06:59She is appealing to the people, asking them to remain calm.
01:07:03The politics is speaking.
01:07:04Union Minister Sukanta Majundar is all set to visit Murshidabad and to meet all the victims.
01:07:09The state police is fully responsible for this kind of brutal killing.
01:07:17Enter Bengal want, NIA should come and take up the case.
01:07:22Mananin Raja Pal Mahudji Jai.
01:07:24Murshidji Jai.
01:07:25Murshidjee Jai.
01:07:25Murshidpura and Maldiak.
01:07:26Murshidpura and Murshidji Jai.
01:07:27Murshidpura and Malda.
01:07:28Teean Dini.
01:07:29Teean Dini.
01:07:30Teean Dini.
01:07:31The trip I have seen here, I have seen, the experience of this.
01:07:34The Mananin Raja Pala Mahudjee Jai.
01:07:35and I have told them about their own status.
01:07:45I have told them all they have said that
01:07:53I am very proud of them.
01:07:58This has been said, the government has also said that they have been protected for the people's lives of every person's lives.
01:08:07The necessary steps, the government has been raised.
01:08:28right about the Supreme Court of India.
01:08:32BJP's Agdi Mitra has said how can the Supreme Court deny decisions that have been made by
01:08:36the MPs of the country.
01:08:38The CGI cannot deny the President's orders.
01:08:41If the Supreme Court and the CGI run the country, then there is no need for the Indian
01:08:45Parliament.
01:08:47It was BJP MP Nishikant Dube, who in a statement had said that the Supreme Court is pushing
01:08:51the nation towards anarchy.
01:08:58Nishikant Dube ji, who has said that the right thing is saying that today our
01:09:04Mahamaheem Rastrupati ji, CGI, Chief Justice of India, is appointed to the Chief Justice
01:09:12of India.
01:09:12How can the Supreme Court of India be able to make the Supreme Court of India?
01:09:19The Parliament, the Sanksad, where all of the Bharat's people who are sitting in policy
01:09:27maker, who is making a rule, will you condemn that rule?
01:09:33So this is where is the rule?
01:09:34Then stop the Parliament.
01:09:37If the country will run the CGI and the Supreme Court, and the appointment of Mahamaheem Rastrupati
01:09:44will not be able to deny that, then there is no need for the Parliament and Rastrupati
01:09:49to do all the CGI.
01:09:50Listen in to what Nishikant Dube had said with regards to the Supreme Court of India, after
01:09:56which there was a big controversy that started.
01:09:58Listen in to Nishikant Dube.
01:10:20He said that the Supreme Court of India, which is the Supreme Court of India, will
01:10:26ありestate the law.
01:10:28It should be given to the Supreme Court of India and the Supreme Court of India.
01:10:33Let us show you the law.
01:10:37The Supreme Court of Japan is, which is the Supreme Court of India, which is the law
01:10:44My colleague Piyush Mishra is now joining me on the story.
01:10:58Piyush, we are seeing one of the BJP MLA's now backing what Nishikan Dubey has said.
01:11:03What Nishikan Dubey has said, however, was pinpointed by the party president J.P. Nanda.
01:11:08Well, actually, this is happening.
01:11:10Despite the directions issued by party president J.P. Nanda, where he categorically asked BJP leaders not to cross the boundary
01:11:17and not to speak or make any such remarks against the judiciary because BJP is of the view of respecting what the judiciary is doing.
01:11:29But now we are now hearing as to how Aghanimitra Paul and there are other BJP leaders also who have come out in complete support of Nishikan Dubey,
01:11:37Aghanimitra Paul, who is BJP MLA from West Bengal, has said, and I quote, that what Nishikan Dubey has said is absolutely right.
01:11:47If the president appoints that gives the state of India, then how can TDI deny the president's order?
01:11:52How can we deny that decision of the MPs and policymakers of nations?
01:11:56If the country is done by TDI and the Supreme Court, then there is no need for the parliament.
01:12:00That's what Aghanimitra Paul is now saying.
01:12:02Now we'll have to wait and watch out.
01:12:04The opposition is going to react on this.
01:12:06But yes, the opposition is going to certainly raise this issue in the coming few days.
01:12:10What we are also learning from our sources is that during this samudana, bachao, abhiyana,
01:12:16the Congress party is certainly going to raise his matter among the people,
01:12:19claiming that BJP does not respect the judiciary.
01:12:23Thank you, Piyush, for giving us all those details.
01:12:26We'll see the Congress also jumping in in this controversy.
01:12:29BJP's MLA backing what Nishikan Dubey has said with regards to the Supreme Court of India.
01:12:37Now in the judiciary versus the parliament debate, everything is heating up.
01:12:41It's BJP MP Nishikan Dubey's outburst that has now lit a political fuse once again.
01:12:47His fiery attack on the Supreme Court has drawn very sharp backlash.
01:12:50Lawyers, Anas Tanveer has now written to the Attorney General of the country,
01:12:55seeking permission to sue the BJP MP.
01:12:58The opposition parties have slammed Nishikan Dubey's remarks.
01:13:01They are saying that these remarks are defamatory and extremely dangerous.
01:13:05Take a look.
01:13:15BJP MP Nishikan Dubey's scathing attack on the top court.
01:13:18In a piercing strike, the BJP MP lashed out to the Chief Justice of India and the Supreme Court,
01:13:26holding them responsible for anarchy and religious war in the country.
01:13:30So me the face will show you the law.
01:13:55The blistering attack on the judiciary comes after the Supreme Court set a timeline for presidential nod to bills
01:14:06and opted for status quo on the work floor.
01:14:11The BJP, however, disapproved of the attack on the Supreme Court.
01:14:15BJP Chief J.P. Nader washed his hands off MP Dubey's remark,
01:14:19calling it his own opinion.
01:14:21The little controversy has already been given a full stop by the national president of BJP,
01:14:30Honorable Mr. J.P. Nader J.P.
01:14:32The dignity and decorum of the Supreme Court is to be maintained at any cost.
01:14:38The opposition called Nishikan Dubey's attack a bid to lower the authority of the top court
01:14:42and sought contempt of court charge.
01:14:44I think this cannot be taken as lightly.
01:15:14One of the serious allegations has been made by a member of parliament,
01:15:18direct attack on judiciary.
01:15:20Just days ago, the top court was in the crosshairs of Vice President Jagdeb Dhankar,
01:15:25who slammed the Supreme Court overreach and veto power over government.
01:15:30The VP had also questioned the absence of an FIR in the Judge Cashall case.
01:15:35Article 142 has become a nuclear missile against democratic forces.
01:15:39It's available to judiciary 24 to 7.
01:15:45It is now over a month.
01:15:50Even if it is a can of wounds,
01:15:53it's time to blow up the can.
01:15:56While the executive versus judiciary tussle isn't new,
01:16:01the growing acrimony points to a never-before escalation.
01:16:04Can Indian democracy afford this growing divide between its key pillars?
01:16:08That's all the time we have on the show.
01:16:16Thank you for watching India Today.
