00:00so what stands out to you on the market watch well always pace yourselves it's april and the
00:05mortal words of lou brown you know we got 162 of these things to go right you know it's a long
00:12it's a long season of major league baseball so don't believe everything you see in april because
00:16typically by the time you get to august it's a distant memory and i look at somebody who was
00:20already in on the brewers anyway this year and had some shares of the cubs too so i was kind of
00:24hedging a little bit in this division once this justin steel injury hit that was it so i doubled
00:29down on any investments that i had in the milwaukee brewers and here's why uh the pirates don't have
00:34enough the pirates are a joke all right they've got paul skeins they've got one of the best pitchers
00:39in baseball here and they've refused to spend enough money around him and you look at some
00:43other teams they have spent money you know they've gone out there the detroit tigers spent money this
00:48off season why couldn't the pirates have done some of those things they didn't uh it's a choice and
00:53that's why they're in last place the st louis cardinals are terrible and sunny gray is probably
00:58going to get traded he's a veteran pitcher they're in a a retool rebuild sort of mode right now in st
01:03louis which leaves us three teams one of which just lost arguably the best pitcher in their rotation
01:07and justin steel maybe it's imanaga maybe it's steel we can have that debate then the cincinnati
01:12reds a pretty green team uh but hunter green has been great and lodolo's been terrific they have a
01:16veteran manager and they're dangerous but they're still a little young which brings us back to the
01:21brewers who are sitting at 500 and what the brewers have that no other team in this division has is
01:27depth of rotation you need 10 starters in this league to be competitive over 162 games and when
01:35you start to look at this rotation they have freddie peralta at the top they have a veteran in jose
01:39quintana right who pitched very well for the mets last year you know hopefully health wise is able to
01:43stabilize eventually they will have nestor cortez coming back right they have aaron savali they have
01:49aaron ashby they have deal hall still in this uh realm they have tobias myers working his way back
01:54and brandon woodruff so all of a sudden peralta woodruff myers right we talked about logan henderson
02:00potentially being an asset he got called up just two days later he hasn't made his debut yet we'll see
02:06i know they acquired quinn priester priester is is not somebody i'm super excited about but again it
02:13comes back to depth you're going to inevitably have injuries it's something the mets have as well which
02:18makes them very dangerous because when you inevitably have those injuries to that rotation
02:24what are you replacing it with and that's the problem that's the conundrum that the cubs are
02:28facing currently and i don't think they have an answer for it whereas the milwaukee brewers do now
02:33offensively they got to put things together a little bit contreras has turned things around
02:37cheerios brilliant the rest of the bats i think will figure it out but matt you look at the value plus
02:42290 on the brewers right now to win this division i can't say no to it
