Exclusive: King Of The Hill cast and creators to reunite after 15 years at ATX TV Festival

After 15 long years, the King Of The Hill cast and creators are finally returning to Texas—in more ways than one. This summer, the animated series returns to the fictional town of Arlen, Texas for its 14th season on Hulu. The new batch of episodes will represent the first original King Of The Hill content on air since 2009. In celebration of the upcoming premiere, The A.V. Club can also exclusively announce that the series’ voice cast and creative team will be reuniting for a first-of-its-kind look back at the series at Austin’s ATX TV Festival. The reunion—and a subsequent, King Of The Hill-style backyard barbecue—will take place on Friday, May 30 at 7 p.m.

The panel will feature co-creators and executive producers Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, EP and showrunner Saladin K. Patterson, and cast members Pamela Adlon, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss. It promises to deliver some behind-the-scenes memories from the show’s original run as well as a sneak peak of the upcoming revival. The barbecue afterparty will transport Camp Badgeholders and invited guests to the Hill family backyard, and feature food and drinks from local Texas brands, as well as games, photo opps, and a few other surprises f you want to catch up on King Of The Hill before the reunion, the original 13 seasons are currently streaming on Hulu. The series follows Hank Hill, a seller of propane and propane accessories, as well as his family and friends as they “navigate a changing world,” per the series’ logline. The new season will be set in the present day, and may feature a new journey for its central character. “I think people are going to love the new King Of The Hill,” Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich told Variety earlier this month. “It is so perfect for our times without trying too hard. You see Hank Hill in a whole new way.”
