00:00Yes guys, how's it going? I'm Henry Bryant and that's Sam Morton. We're reporters for Sussex World and we've just watched Brighton and Hove Albion lose 4-2.
00:09It was a really poor defeat here at the GTEC Stadium and we'll ask Sam what he's thinking about this one.
00:15So Sam, yeah, talk to me about how Brighton started in this one and where did it all go wrong?
00:20Yeah, it was another poor day at the office for Brighton. We've been saying that quite a lot lately, haven't we?
00:25I think it's all seemed to have gone wrong in the last few weeks. There's six games in all competitions now without a win, stretching back to that draw at Man City.
00:34But when you go back to that draw at Man City, everything was really rosy and everything was really positive.
00:40Brighton could have won on that day as well. They've just come away from that at the international break and it's all gone wrong.
00:47Obviously not to have the FA Cup and now seemingly the hopes of qualifying for Europa are looking slim as well.
00:52I mean, you look on the table and they're still within the chance, but it's just in the form and the play is now going to be unavailable.
00:58And to add to the injuries they already have, they're obviously players like Jorginho Rutter being out, Adam Webster.
01:03Now, Jan-Paul Van Hecker suffered a stickening, picking a head injury, which is really not what you want to see and we do wish him the best.
01:11And obviously Jao Pedro, a silly red card today, he's now going to be out, suspended for a few games.
01:16So it's not looking great from a bright point of view and it just, yeah, on the pitch, it just looked really kind of sloppy defensively.
01:24It just weren't able to handle Brian and Dumo and Wisser, who have caused a lot of team problems, you must say, and scored and assisted loads of goals this season.
01:33And they were on fire today and they really did kind of put Brighton to the sword.
01:39Brighton also got a couple of goals. They did actually equalise in the first half.
01:43And it was one all going into the half-time break. Danny Welbeck, yet another goal, which is one small positive he can take for in the afternoon.
01:50It was a great header as well from Welbeck. But it all went wrong again.
01:54It was a bad start to the match and then an equally bad start to the second half and Brighton were punished.
01:59Absolutely. And just in terms of that, going into these last few games, do you really think that the wheels have fallen off for Albion at this point?
02:07It does look like that way. It's similar to last season where it kind of just fizzled out a little bit.
02:13And obviously the Serbis last time at the club. And you kind of feel as if it's happening again.
02:17And even though they've got so much to play for. And it's incredible that only a couple of weeks ago, everything was really looking good.
02:23You think they could potentially get to an FA Cup semi-final. Things went well against Forrest.
02:27And I think everyone was quite confident going into that game. Despite that 7-0, you thought Brighton on a good run of form, have that reason to have revenge.
02:35And yeah, it didn't obviously pan out. And that seems to have just knocked the stuffing out of them.
02:40And I know obviously Jorginho, Ritter and Webster both were injured. And they have both been sorely missed out injured since that game.
02:47But that's not the only reason. There's something else going on as well. And they're just lacking morale in the squad at the moment.
02:53And you just never felt, from the first whistle, you never felt that Brighton would have been a win today.
02:58Yeah, it was curtain for the Albion here. And we'll see what this is going to be like in their last few games.
03:04Can they just clinch Europe? We'll see. It's not looking likely.
