00:00Look at your right hand and pay attention to the length of your second to fourth finger.
00:06What do you see?
00:07Is your index finger longer than your ring finger?
00:10Is it equal in length or even shorter?
00:13What you're looking at is the so-called 2D to 4D digit ratio and in this video I will
00:18tell you which ratio will go along with a large penis.
00:22My name is Stefan Bundrock, I'm a board certified urologist and sexologist and if you are interested

00:34new content.
00:36So when you look at your hand, and I was telling you to look at your right hand because somehow
00:41the differences appear to be greater here, the ratio you observe between your index and
00:47ring fingers reflects fetal testosterone estradiol exposure.
00:53This is something many of you may not be aware of.
00:57But when you still weren't born, you were subjected to testosterone for the first time in your lives
01:03when you were 10 to 15 weeks old.
01:06Your hand tells you how much testosterone it was.
01:10Because if your ring finger is longer than your index finger, we call this a low 2D to
01:174D ratio, you were exposed to a lot of testosterone.
01:22If your ring finger is shorter than your index finger, you were exposed to rather small amounts
01:28of testosterone.
01:29Consequently, men usually have low ratios, whereas women typically display high ratios.
01:36But while this may be the case on average, it is not true for everybody.
01:41So there are also women with a low 2D to 4D ratio.
01:46So what does this mean for penis size?
01:48We know that testosterone is needed for penile growth and development at critical points
01:53in time in human development.
01:56Exposure of the fetus to high testosterone levels is the first step of realizing the full
02:02genetic potential of the inherited penile size.
02:06More testosterone also has an influence on the digit ratio.
02:10Now it becomes interesting.
02:12Could a low 2D to 4D ratio be an indicator of a large penis?
02:19According to a Korean study from 2011, the answer is yes.
02:23They measured 144 men with a median age of 59 years for flaccid and stretched penile length
02:31and compared these measurements to their 2D to 4D digit ratios.
02:36These men were patients who came to the hospital for urological surgery.
02:41So they took these measurements while these men were under anesthesia.
02:45What they found was a correlation between stretched penile length and a low 2D to 4D ratio, meaning
02:53that men with longer ring fingers tend to have longer penises.
02:58According to YouTube analytics, only 7% of my audience are female.
03:03So you women out there who watch this, next time you go out and want to have an estimate
03:08of the size of your date, look at the fingers of his right hand to figure it out.
03:14But this is not it.
03:15There is even more, so keep watching.
03:17There is an abundance of research on digit ratios and I quickly skimmed some of the articles.
03:23They assessed athletic performance, musical skills and even success as a high frequency
03:29financial trader.
03:31What can I tell you?
03:32Men with low 2D to 4D digit ratios outperformed all the others.
03:38One of the explanations was that prenatal testosterone levels also shape brain structures so that
03:45these men are able to take decisions quickly and also take more risks, which makes them more
03:51successful overall.
03:53But before you feel like a loser because your index finger is longer than your ring finger,
03:59I also found an article in the Christmas edition of the British Medical Journal called
04:04Giving Science the Finger Is the 2nd to 4th digit ratio a biomarker of good luck?
04:11In this study they found a correlation between a low 2D to 4D ratio of the right hand and
04:17good luck.
04:18They assessed luck by letting the study subjects select 5 cards from a deck of playing cards
04:24presented to them face down.
04:27They repeated the process twice and ranked the cards according to standard poker rules.
04:33So even here, the low digit ratios had an advantage and turned out to be luckier than the high
04:39digit ratios.
04:41Here I would like to cite the authors of the study.
04:44We would also caution readers that the good luck described in our study does not necessarily
04:50translate to the act of getting lucky, although previous research indicates that 2D to 4D is
04:57associated with sexual attractiveness in social situations.
05:02But seriously, this is an important study, because as the authors conclude, correlations are tricky.
05:09In science one really has to think about what to correlate and not jump into conclusions.
05:15So you could easily come up with all sorts of flawed correlations.
05:20One of the classics I learned when I went to statistics class was the correlation between
05:25babies and storks, because more babies are born in spring and the storks return from their
05:31winter quarters in spring.
05:33So the correlation tells us that the storks bring the babies.
05:38What I want to say is that any correlation between finger ratios has to be interpreted with
05:44care.
05:45It surely is fun to read about it, but the question remains, do you believe it?
05:51Earlier on this video I referred to critical points in time for penile development.
05:55If you want to know what else is needed for a large penis, I recommend that you watch this
06:01video.
06:02Bye bye.
