00:00What a game.
00:01A brilliant, brilliant game of football.
00:03Brilliant two legs of football.
00:05Some of the football from Bayern Munich was sensational.
00:07Some of the defending from Inter Milan was out of this world.
00:11They looked so together as a team, as a collective.
00:14Before tonight, they conceded three goals in the tournament.
00:18Bayern Munich could have scored six tonight.
00:20I thought, like Owen said earlier,
00:22missing Neuer, Musiala, Apamecano, Alphonso Davies,
00:27amongst a few others, they were absolutely brilliant.
00:29They'd done themselves proud.
00:30But it was just Inter Milan's night.
00:32You know, Simone Inzaghi has just got them at it.
00:36And there'll be a game for anyone.
00:37I think they'll make them slight favourites
00:40going in against Barcelona.
00:42And, yeah, brilliant, brilliant night of football.
00:45Well, they get into that low block.
00:47I don't think there's a team better than them in the world at that.
00:50Just what makes this team so special, Owen?
00:54I mean, they're just, you know, kind of Joe nailed it.
00:57They're a good team.
00:58Really, really good team.
00:59Well-managed.
01:00They've got experience in crucial positions in midfield.
01:01They've got two attackers at the top of the pitch who are classed.
01:04Latoura Martinez is world-class.
01:06And they barely concede any goals.
01:08You know, so in a way it's a perfect recipe.
01:10They only have 38% possession today, Linz.
01:12But they're effective without it.
01:14You think when they play Barca, they can have all that ball
01:16and they can hit you on the counter.
01:17They defend brilliantly and they can hit you on the break.
01:20And I think that's a really great recipe to win the Champions League.
01:23Bayern missing all the players that they did.
01:25I thought they did.
01:26They did terrific.
01:27You know, they really hung in there and created opportunities.
01:29But this Inter team, they're just hard.
01:31They're really hard to score against.
01:32And I think Vincent Kovny can be proud of his players.
01:35You know, even though they had a lot of injuries, they pushed Inter.
01:38But Inter, it just feels like they're...
01:40You know, I think teams get a run of three, four years where they're at their best.
01:44You know, Man United had it, Chelsea had it.
01:46Valencia had it all those years ago, Real.
01:48And this feels like Inter's time.
01:51Do you think they're peaking just at the right time?
01:53They're getting better every year, Linz.
01:55And I think then you get experience in the competition,
01:57in the knock-off phase.
01:58You know how to win games, even though you don't have a lot of the ball.
02:00You can hang in there.
02:01I think that's how football is in the Champions League.
02:03You've got to hang in there when it's hard.
02:04And then you strike when you get a chance.
02:06And I think with Inzaghi and Inter and the experience they have,
02:09they're in a really good place.
02:11Maybe not enough people have been talking about Inter.
02:13as potential winners for the Champions League,
02:16but I think they will be now, certainly,
02:18after knocking out Bayern Munich.
02:20Well, Inter through, they will face Barcelona in the semi-finals.
02:24Meanwhile, at the Bernabeu, in the other quarter-final,
02:28second leg, Arsenal took a 3-0 lead over to Spain there.
02:33Saka missed a penalty in the first off,
02:36but then he scored after a beautiful team move for Arsenal in that one.
02:42Finicius Junior then got one back for Real Madrid
02:45after a horrible mistake from Saliba,
02:47but Martinelli has just scored in that one as well.
02:49So, Arsenal now leading 2-1 on the night,
02:525-1 on aggregate with that one in the closing stages.
02:56So, the Gunners already had a huge foot in the semi-finals,
02:59and they are well on their way.
03:05That one just finishing up at the Bernabeu.
03:07You can hear the final whistle there,
03:09so that means Arsenal are into the semi-finals of the Champions League.
03:15And they will be facing that talented PSG side
03:21who knocked out Aston Villa last night
03:23after a valiant performance from Villa at Villa Park.
03:26And there is confirmation of your final four.
03:29Look at that.
03:30Two brilliant semi-finals to look forward to.
03:33Barca against Inter.
03:34Arsenal versus PSG.
03:37That semi-final line-up is complete.
03:43Highlights of all this week's quarter-final second legs
03:46coming up at 10.30 on TNT Sports 1.
03:49And that is followed by Ali McCoy's special sit-down
03:53with a crucible legend ahead of the World Snooker Championship.
03:57Oh, it's a lovely delivery.
04:01Martinez!
04:02It's another goal for him.
04:05But that might be the biggest of them all.
04:08Here's the header though.
04:10A powerful one from Benjamin Pavard.
04:13And that might just take it away from Bayern Munich.
04:17Benjamin Pavard, the former Bayern Munich player,
04:20sends the San Siro absolutely sick.
04:26Absolutely silly.
04:31Well, it was such an entertaining 2-2 draw on the night.
04:35But Inter go through 4-3 on aggregate
04:38to set up a mouthwatering semi-final against Barcelona.
04:43Well, what a game it was.
04:45Thoroughly entertaining.
04:46Inter blocked everything in that first half.
04:49Bayern couldn't find a way through.
04:51But then, Joe, seven minutes into the start of the second half,
04:54it was Harry Kane, that man.
04:56They needed him to step up.
04:57Yeah.
04:58And he levelled the tie putting Bayern in front on the night.
05:00Yeah, he's so dangerous.
05:01We've seen it for many, many years.
05:03His quality is, you know, you can't say anything about his quality.
05:06He's always, always on point here.
05:08A lovely little break.
05:09Good rhythm to the attack.
05:11A cross comes in.
05:12Harry Kane unmarked at the far post.
05:13As the ball comes down to him here.
05:15Touch out of his feet.
05:17Sets it.
05:18He knows what he wants to do here.
05:19He wants to shoot through DiMarco's leg.
05:20And it's a beautiful strike.
05:21Goalkeeper, no chance.
05:22DiMarco, if you look at him, he goes with the wrong foot.
05:25He turns his back.
05:26If any defenders are watching, you have to go with the left foot there.
05:29He gives yourself a chance to block it properly.
05:31But a great strike from Harry Kane.
05:33Yeah, Vince and company celebrated that one in style on the touchline.
05:36But, Owen, what about the response from Inter Milan?
05:39And that man, Lautaro Martinez.
05:42His 150th goal for Inter tonight.
05:45And you know what?
05:46Again, another dimension in football.
05:48Set pieces.
05:49Massive one.
05:50And both of the goals came from set pieces.
05:51Kim loses that battle there.
05:54And Kimmich is just a bit of a ricochet.
05:56But the strikers always say the goal scores are just alive in the box.
06:00He just hits that.
06:01He knows it's going to come off Kimmich.
06:02Can't really see it.
06:03Takes a bit of a ricochet.
06:05And a great little finish.
06:06I mean, what a stat that is.
06:07There's 150 goals.
06:08I mean, great celebration.
06:09Great celebration, isn't it?
06:11And all.
06:12But, to be fair, Bayern dominated, really, for large parts.
06:15But on set pieces, such a big part.
06:16And you see that, look, 11 games, eight goals.
06:19He's just...
06:20He's there in the big moments.
06:21That's what this Inter team are there.
06:22They didn't dominate today.
06:23But they were there in the big moments that counted.
06:25And I think that's what the Champions League is all about.
06:28Just one behind Hernan Crespo now for the most goals
06:30in a single Champions League campaign for Inter with those eight.
06:34And, you know, he's still got time to better that.
06:37But the next goal came from former Bayern player Benjamin Pavard.
06:41But, Joe, another set piece.
06:43Yeah.
06:44From Bayern's perspective, to play as well as they've done,
06:47get done by two set pieces.
06:48It's just like, they look stagnant there.
06:50You know, they set up in a...
06:53You know, it's not man-to-man.
06:55It's zonal.
06:56It's just like...
06:57It's just nothing.
06:58Kim, again, you're dominant.
06:59You're centre-half.
07:00And you're facing your own goal.
07:02You know, you should be there.
07:04You should be side-on facing the corner.
07:06And then you should be attacking it.
07:08And you should be coming on to it.
07:10And he just got spun.
07:11You know, Kim got brought off.
07:13And I think he made a big mistake at the weekend, by all accounts.
07:17And I think, like I said, losing to Upamecano,
07:20maybe Manuel Neuer would have made a difference as well.
07:22But I think it cost them.
07:23Kim's been...
07:24In big games, he's just not been at it.
07:27Just injuries across that back line.
07:30And how costly have they been across the two legs for them, do you think?
07:33Yeah, massive.
07:34I mean, Inter didn't have that.
07:35They were fully fit.
07:36And I think it showed.
07:37And I think, defensively, if you're going to play against a team like Inter,
07:40you know, with Martinez and Turan at the top of the pitch,
07:42no left-back in Davis, no Upamecano, no Neuer.
07:45You know, that's three of your back five.
07:47You know, that's a big ask, I think, for any team.
07:48I thought they hung in there, really,
07:50considering how many players they were missing and dominated the ball.
07:53But Inter, I just think they were a well-oiled machine.
07:56And they showed it in big moments.
07:59They don't have to play brilliantly to get into the next round.
08:01And that is...
08:02I think that's a sign of a really good team.
08:04You don't have to be at your best to still progress.
08:06And I thought they did that tonight.
08:08One thing perhaps we didn't expect tonight
08:10was both Harry Kane and Eric Dyer to be on the score sheet.
08:14Dyer scoring from such an improbable angle.
08:17Did he mean it, do you think?
08:19Well, he's trying to play across the back.
08:21Eric Dyer played very well tonight coming in.
08:23You know, he's coming...
08:24He's just trying to get into the far post.
08:26It's a good header.
08:27Technically, it's a good header
08:28because he's leaning back.
08:30He's trying to put it there or thereabouts
08:32and he's just dipped in.
08:33But, listen, he played well tonight, Eric Dyer.
08:36You know, his career at Tottenham when he wasn't getting in.
08:39And now he's scoring goals in the Champions League quarter-final
08:41and maybe winning the Bundesliga.
08:43So, as an Englishman, we wish him all the very best.
08:47He had an amazing block on his line.
08:49Yes, he did.
08:50Which was exceptional.
08:52But I think, again, those goals shows the Muller one in the first leg.
08:55Today, you've got to cross the ball more.
08:57When a team's this deep and they've got that many bodies
08:58and you've got to cross the ball, get it to the back post.
09:01And all the goals that they got, it came from crosses.
09:04They tried to play too much.
09:05That's why they had a lot of the ball.
09:07Put the ball in the box and then you can win the second one.
09:10But credit to Eric Dyer.
09:11You know, that was a brilliant header
09:12and he played really well today.
09:13Yeah, his first goal for them, wasn't it?
09:15And Bayern just did not give up, did they?
09:18Right until the final whistle.
09:20Well, and to be fair, Gnabry and Coman came on and really helped.
09:23I mean, Alise was always pushing.
09:25Coman was just popping the ball into the box there.
09:28Kane, you want to fall to anyone, that's Harry.
09:30To be fair to the keeper, someone comes out
09:32and probably makes himself really big, makes it hard for Harry.
09:35Again, another little flick there.
09:36Thomas Muller, could it be?
09:38Can he get into the final in Munich?
09:40That would have been the dream, Andy.
09:41But they just threw the kitchen sink at him, didn't they, Joe?
09:43Yeah, they did, they did, they did.
09:44I mean, Coman as well.
09:46I mean, they played so well.
09:49And we said it last night, you know,
09:51it's a real privilege to be here at these Champions League games.
09:53You have two great sides and the margins are so small.
09:57And the margins between for Inter Milan going through
09:59is minuscule.
10:02Them chances, Harry Kane, I think that one there,
10:05I think when he watches that, that will pain him
10:07because I think he, the goalkeeper's out, he's in no man's land.
10:10If he would have just lifted it, it was a little lob one it needed.
10:14But, listen, it's two great sides tonight
10:17and Inter Milan are through and it's going to be,
10:19I think it'll be an even better semi-final as well.
10:22And they are buying on course to win the Bundesliga
10:25to reclaim that title back from Leverkusen, Owen.
10:28Will there be any pressure at all on Vincent Kompany
10:31after them going out of the Champions League?
10:33Or will they be happy with the manner in which they played
10:37across the two legs?
10:38There's always pressure by Munich.
10:39And I think Vinny knows that.
10:40He's been around that his whole life.
10:42Six points clear in the Bundesliga.
10:44They obviously have to win the Bundesliga.
10:46It looks like they'll do that.
10:47I think their remaining five fixtures are pretty comfortable.
10:50And hopefully for Vincent Kompany and Harry Kane,
10:52they can win a trophy.
10:53But I don't think there's any shame in going out to this Inter side.
10:55They played well.
10:56Could have easily gone through.
10:57Bundesliga will have to be enough for this season.
11:00Is there a growing belief for this Inter side then
11:03that this is their time and they will win the treble perhaps
11:06under Inzaghi?
11:07Listen, I think they're brilliant.
11:09I think that man in your picture of Inzaghi is brilliant.
11:12I still fancy PSG.
11:14Unfortunately for Arsenal fans, I think it's going to be...
11:18I think PSG's name's on it this year.
11:20But Inter Milan, they could beat anyone on their night.
11:23And they look together.
11:25What I would say is they look like a group.
11:28They look like a team that knows how to win
11:30and they want to fight for each other with good characters
11:32all around the dressing room.
11:34They are so well-rounded, so well-drilled,
11:37and they are through to the semi-finals
11:39where they will meet Barcelona.
11:41Arsenal have to face Paris Saint-Germain.
11:43How do you see that battle as a tactical battle
11:47between Barcelona and this Inter side?
11:50Fascinating.
11:51I mean, one side, you know,
11:52Barcelona dominated the ball with that high line
11:54and Inter were brilliant in transition.
11:56That game could be anything.
11:57I think we've got four brilliant teams.
11:59Arsenal, PSG, what a game that is.
12:01I mean, Arsenal hammered them in the group phases,
12:04so that could be anything as well.
12:06I think we can look forward to, you know,
12:08two terrific, four terrific games, four great teams.
12:12Who do you think goes through from the two semi-finals, Joe?
12:15Inter Milan, PSG final.
12:18You're not giving Arsenal a chance after the way they've performed across the two legs?
12:23Some of the cameramen weren't happy with that.
12:25It was a gasp of disappointment.
12:27They were in control of that quarter-final against Real Madrid,
12:30the defending champions.
12:325-1 over two legs, that's crazy.
12:34It's incredible.
12:35What an achievement.
12:36It's incredible.
12:37I just think PSG are the best team left in the tournament.
12:38As simple as that.
12:39I think Arsenal are a brilliant team.
12:40I think Inter Milan are a brilliant team.
12:42I think Inter Milan are a brilliant team.
12:43Barcelona, I would go early and say they're going to win the Champions League within two years.
12:47But I just fancy PSG.
12:49I think they've got too much.
12:51Just because it's not what you want to happen,
12:53doesn't mean it's not going to happen.
12:54Do you give Arsenal a decent chance, Owen, against PSG?
12:57Of course you do.
12:58You know, brilliant defensive at the shoulder games, Real.
13:00Set pieces, they're one of the best teams as well.
13:02So they can do it.
13:03I'm with Joe.
13:04PSG are your favourites,
13:05but you're not going to underestimate Arsenal.
13:06Now they've got confidence being one of the best teams in Real Madrid.
13:09Of course they can do it.
13:10They just have to believe, defend well,
13:12take the chances when they come like Inter did tonight.
13:14OK.
13:15Well, we have our final four teams.
13:18Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and Barcelona.
13:22And we'll have highlights at 10.30,
13:24following the conclusion of Real Madrid-Arsenal over on one.
13:29See you there.
