A man who tragically died in a devastating house explosion has been identified as 53-year-old father David Howard.

Emergency services responded to the blast on John Street, Worksop, Notts., at 7:39 pm on Saturday, April 12.

Neighbours reported hearing a "huge bang" before the two-bedroom house collapsed.

Officers recovered Mr. Howard's body from beneath the rubble.

His daughters have been notified and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Nottinghamshire Police are investigating the cause of the explosion.

Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow urged the public to respect the family's privacy and avoid speculation during the ongoing investigation.
