Colleville-on-Sea is getting ready for the ceremonies of June 6. The soldiers are already there, re-enactors and real ones, Engineer troops have just arrived to build a car park. But the best is still to come all safely stored in a room of the town hall.

On June 6, Colleville will be decorated with 1st Infantry Division emblems. Patrick Thomines in office since 1989 in Colleville will experience his 20th anniversary of the Normandy landing.

Only a selected few will attend the official ceremony in the presence of the American President. One local resident, Germaine is invited each year; she was there in his house on June 6, 1944.

No one will be allowed to stroll about the beach next Saturday; the sector will be off limits between 9H and 19H. Colleville-sur-Mer, cut off from the world, has a rendezvous with its history.
