01:16People tend to think that chess players are very smart
01:21because they play chess and they foresee the outcome.
01:27So, partly, it's very true.
01:31But, also, it helps in basic school subjects
01:36because it's very concrete.
01:40So, for example, if you take maths and chess,
01:44it's basic calculations and problem-solving.
01:48So, I definitely see a relation with chess
01:53and some other real-life subjects.
01:56I'm a third-class student
02:01of the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.
02:04I study business management program
02:06and this university is among the best universities in Uzbekistan.
02:12They have all the necessary facilities
02:15and I chose this university because of the high-quality education
02:20and they even offer online classes so I can combine my chess career and studying.
02:29Dr. Bek is a very important student for us
02:32so that all the other students would like to reach his level.
02:36Of course, it's not an easy task, you know it.
02:39And in the other way, the students always look at him
02:43as the person with whom they would like to be in the same level.
02:48and this is very also important for us as a university as well.
02:51So, that's why this is one of the main reasons we always try to support our students
02:57with their initiatives, with their ideas, with their projects
03:00and we are very proud that we have such students in our university.
03:05I've set a goal to become a classical world champion.
03:11so that drives me, you know, it gives motivation to work and to improve, to develop.
03:17It's very tough at times because I feel like very exhausted with chess
03:22because I spend so much time with it.
03:26At that time I try to isolate myself and to kind of refresh my mind, to rest, to read books about the other, you know, best athletes.
03:40And that's, that gives me motivation.
03:52You have to really work hard, you have to really give your best, learn from your mistakes.
03:56It truly takes immense effort to achieve bigger results.
04:03And you have to be really, you have to really like playing chess.
04:06And if you don't get the, I mean, satisfaction by playing, then I think it's, I think chess is not for you.
04:16When you are satisfied with your game, with your, with chess, it gives you, you know, additional boost, additional joy.
04:28Even if you don't achieve some results in chess, by playing chess, you achieve, you know, you gain basic skills,
04:40like learning from your mistakes, critical thinking, as I mentioned.
04:45So it definitely helps in your life and school subjects.
