00:00I can confirm that I will not be part of the East Coast team that will be
00:09standing for the next general election. I'm saying this because I want to pave
00:14the way and show my support for Ms. Ashlina Abdul-Halim to be a new member of
00:20the East Coast GRC team to stand for the next election.
00:24Dr. Maliki is somebody who has displayed such immense leadership. We indeed have
00:30worked together for a long time in the social services sector and he's always
00:34been empowering communities to band together and to really take control of
00:39our lives and really live better lives as best versions of ourselves. As
00:44journalists, we care. We care about the world around us. We care about our
00:48community. We care about people. We take time to listen. We take time to connect
00:53because we want to be able to tell the stories of the unheard, to show the
00:57visuals of the unseen. So I hope to be able, as Dr. Maliki has said, to better
01:02connect with the residents of East Coast, to better understand how East Coast
01:07residents envision they want to live their lives, given that this East Coast
01:13and the East side has been home to generations of families in Singapore.
