00:00After three months of renovation, the historic Rizal Memorial Stadium in Malate, Manila underwent an initial test to ensure the football pitch meets FIFA standards.

00:15Through the collaboration of the Philippine Sports Commission and sports architecture company Esports International,

00:21the major renovation of the football pitch of the iconic Rizal Memorial Stadium in Malate, Manila is nearing completion.

00:28After three months of repairing, the stadium is once again ready to host major football events but it needs to receive certification from the International Federation for Football Association or FIFA.

00:41Under the leadership of FIFA-credited sports testing laboratory Acoustoscan, an initial test was conducted to ensure the football pitch passes the quality standard.

00:50Acoustoscan International Director Anthony Aparaili is confident that the quality of the installed football pitch has improved.

00:58because it's still firm because you have the short drain but it's safer like you will not have injury if you fall you will not break your arm or your legs or whatever.

01:10The problem is that the natural grass tends to be harder, so maybe I should not have said this one is softer, maybe the other one is harder, plus the natural grass requires a lot of water, so if you don't use the water then it gets very hard, so this one you don't need water.

01:28You can make water to cool it down if you want, but it doesn't require water.

01:32According to Esports International Managing Director Odis Romualdez, they always ensure that sports facilities meet international standards.

01:40This is the second time that the PSC has commissioned their company to repair the Nisal Memorial Stadium, which was remembered to have received a two-star rating from FIFA in 2015.

01:50As I've always said, when we do a certain facility, we make sure that we think of the athletes, that they can train properly, that they can become international athletes, and at the same time, we want to protect the investment of the clients.

02:12PSC Chairperson Richard Bachman also visited the field testing and stated the renovation of the football stadium is just the beginning of his plan to repair the facilities at the Resolve Memorial Sports Complex.

02:25On a personal note, when I did get here as PSC Chairman two years ago, when I went around the facilities, especially this one at 5.30 in the morning, I told myself that I have a lot of work to do.

02:40I promise that I will fix facilities, and this is one step, and also I would like to also thank our partners.

02:47If you look at the VIP seats donated by Kaya, so it's a collaboration between the private sector and the government to help us build and fix the Resolve Memorial Stadium for our athletes and all sports.

03:03It will take a month before the certification is obtained from FIFA, but according to Esports International in a Kususkan, it can already host football matches.
