Two people have drowned, and a third person has critical head injuries after being swept out to sea on the central Queensland coast.

00:00Emergency services were called here to Round Hill Head in 1770 at about 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon to reports three people had been swept into the ocean.
00:12The local marine rescue group say conditions were poor at the time with strong winds which have been continuing today.
00:18A 46 year old man and a 17 year old boy were retrieved from the water by helicopter and declared dead at the scene.
00:25Police believe the pair are both from the UK while the third man, a 37 year old from Montau, was airlifted to the Bundaberg Hospital with significant and life-threatening head injuries.
00:36Police say a report will be prepared for the coroner.
00:39Witnesses who watched the rescue take place have revisited the scene today, devastated to learn of the deaths.
00:46The Agnes Water and 1770 communities are reeling.
00:49These are small, tight-knit communities and locals here say they're shocked to learn of the news, particularly on the school holidays.
