00:00Alright, so tonight we're in 1 Corinthians chapter 2. 1 Corinthians chapter 2. The Bible
00:08says, And I, brethren, when I came to you, not with excellency of speech or wisdom,
00:15declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you
00:21save Jesus Christ and Him crucified. So again, we see like in chapter 1 where He's saying,
00:27I didn't come with great speech. I didn't come with, you know, you have all these people
00:32that do speeches, politicians and so they have these great words and it's supposed to sway
00:37people because of the words they say. He's saying, look, I didn't come with that. The only thing
00:41I came with to you except that Jesus Christ was crucified. That's all He did when He preached
00:48to them. Nothing else, nothing great, nothing that a grandstanding. All He did was preach
00:56that Jesus Christ was crucified. We need to take a knowledge of that. Again, that it's
01:02not all words. It's the words of the Holy Spirit. It's not anything that we do when we show somebody
01:09the gospel. It's not all words. It's not us telling some great story in a great manner
01:14and then people get saved. It's the words of the Holy Spirit which is sitting right in
01:18front of you in your lap.
01:19And I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling. And my speech and my
01:27preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit
01:32and of power. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
01:38Again, He's saying, you know, while I was weak and in fear and trembling, He said, the power
01:45of God is what did. And you know, a lot of times when you are weak and you're trembling and
01:51you're scared, it's the Holy Spirit that takes over. There's been several times where, you
01:56know, I would be, in the first time of preaching, I'd be very nervous and scared. And you could
02:04tell when the Holy Spirit just kind of took over, not to the point that He's possessing
02:10you or anything, but He just gives you the words that you need to say. That's happened
02:15plenty of times and that's what He's telling you. He's saying, when I was weak and trembling,
02:18the Holy Spirit took over, not from the enticing words of man's wisdom. He keeps talking about
02:24that. Not the enticing, but the Holy Spirit does that. We need to understand that. Even just
02:32as simple as giving somebody the gospel that's unsaved, it's not all words. It's the words
02:37of the Holy Spirit. Nobody's flesh ever gets saved. It's their spirit. So if you go to them
02:43with your words of how you want to explain the salvation and that Jesus died on the cross,
02:49that's great. That's great for us to talk about. But when you're talking to an unsaved person,
02:55you need to use this right here. Romans 3.23, Romans 6.23, John 3.16. All these verses,
03:02because these are the words of the Holy Spirit, and that's what pricks people's heart to be saved.
03:08You know, I've heard people say, you know, you'd tell somebody, hey, you're 100% sure if you die
03:12today, you'd go to heaven. They'd say, no, I'm not, but I'm sure whatever you're going to tell me is
03:16nothing that my mother told me or my grandmother or my father or my pastor. Well, maybe it is,
03:21maybe it isn't. Maybe they told you something, but maybe they did not use the words of the Holy
03:26Spirit. That's what gets people saved. And that's what Paul's trying to tell them. You've got to
03:30understand, Paul was known as what? Somebody who beat up Christians that put them in jail. So he's
03:37got to show to them, the Corinthians, that he's not that guy anymore, that he's got the Holy Spirit
03:43and that he has that power just like they do. And that's what he's trying to tell them. Verse 6,
03:49How be it? We speak wisdom among them that are perfect. Again, the Bible's using the word
03:56perfect. It's not talking about sinless because we can just compare that to the Bible and know
04:01that we've all sinned and come short of the glory of God. So it's not that we're perfect,
04:05but complete. The book of Job, Job 1 talks about Job being a complete person, means he was
04:12perfect. Not that he was sinless, but that he was what? Complete. Among them that are perfect,
04:21yet not the wisdom of this world, nor the princes of this world that come to naught,
04:27but we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the world
04:35and to our glory. Keep your finger there and go to Mark 4. Mark chapter 4.
04:57Mark chapter 4.
05:05I'll get that myself.
05:09Starting in verse 9.
05:13And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
05:17This is Jesus speaking.
05:19And when he was alone, they that were about him, would the twelve ask of him the parable?
05:24And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to known the mystery of the kingdom of God.
05:30But unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables.
05:35That seeing they may see, and not perceive, and hearing they may hear, and not understand,
05:42lest that any time they should be converted, and their sin should be forgiven them.
05:48So Jesus is clearly telling them, you know, I'm speaking in parables because it's not for them to understand
05:55until they believe who I am.
05:58That's what he's telling them.
05:59He's saying, you understand.
06:01Because he's allowed them to do it.
06:04And it reminds me of a lady one time who went out soul winning, and she was, I told her about John 3.16,
06:12and she could quote the word to word, verse to verse of John 3.16.
06:18And I said, oh, okay, well, that's great.
06:21If you died today, would you go to heaven?
06:22No, I'd go to hell.
06:25And you'd say, hey, what does that mean to you?
06:27Well, it just means you've got to be a good person.
06:30What?
06:31That whosoever believeth?
06:33Where does that come?
06:34Folks, they don't have the Holy Spirit.
06:36They do not understand.
06:37They can read.
06:39They can memorize verses in the Bible.
06:42They can do all this stuff, and they can spew them out to you.
06:44But the Holy Spirit is not showing them.
06:47This book is not like the book of Shakespeare or any other kind of literature where somebody
06:53can learn it, and they can memorize it.
06:55If you don't have the Holy Spirit, you will never understand it.
06:59That's what he does.
07:00Go to Romans 16.
07:04And that's what Jesus is trying to tell them.
07:06Well, I'm unlocking the mystery.
07:08The mystery of what?
07:09Before the world was even created, the mystery that Jesus Christ was going to be the Lamb
07:15slain from the foundation of the earth.
07:19Before Genesis 1-1, Jesus knew he was going to have to do that.
07:25Look at Romans 16, verse 25.
07:29Now to him, that is of power to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching
07:35of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery.
07:38What does revelation mean?
07:40It means to reveal something.
07:41The word manifests is used sometimes.
07:43To reveal, to show the mystery of Jesus Christ, which was what?
07:50Kept secret since the world began.
07:52Since when?
07:53Since before Genesis 1-1, it was a secret.
07:57Folks, if you could go back in the time to the Old Testament, those people didn't know
08:01why they were sacrificing animals.
08:03They didn't know.
08:04They didn't know why they were taking a lamb every year, making sure it was perfect, and
08:09why they couldn't take this lamb with a broken leg, and all this stuff, and why they were
08:13making sure it was perfect, complete, the best lamb in the whole group to take, and then
08:19to sacrifice.
08:22They had no idea, because it was a mystery.
08:24Look at verse 26.
08:25But now is made manifest, means revealed, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according
08:35to the commandment of the everlasting God, may known to all nations for the obedience of
08:40faith, to God only, wise, be gloried through Jesus Christ forever.
08:46Amen.
08:46So this mystery that we're talking about, and Corinthians, go back to 1 Corinthians 2, is
08:52being made manifested.
08:54God ordained it.
08:56So, you know, I heard people say sometimes that Jesus was plan B. The Jews didn't work
09:02out.
09:03No, no, no, no.
09:03Jesus was not plan B. He was plan A. This clearly tells us that Jesus Christ was plan A
09:10before anything was created, before this earth was made, before man, before dust was spit
09:16into and made a man, Jesus knew that he was going to have to die for the whole world.
09:22That was the whole plan from the get-go.
09:24Verse 8.
09:27Look, this verse, I want you to look at this verse clearly.
09:30Which none of the princes of this world, talking about what?
09:34The princes of this world, you think about the presidents, the leaders, whatever, knew
09:39for had they known it, if they had known what the whole mystery was, they would not have
09:45crucified the glory.
09:47Think about that for a minute.
09:50I've pondered this verse a lot this week, and I've been thinking about this.
09:54You know, if Satan knew, we know that immediately, Judas Iscariot, what happened to him?
10:01He took Satan into him when he took the sop, and Jesus said, go and do that.
10:08Talking about to betray him.
10:11Folks, if Satan knew that what he was doing, when he was part of it, to put Jesus on the
10:16cross, if he knew that was going to save every person, all mankind, he wouldn't have done
10:22it.
10:23And that's what's so great, is that just shows you.
10:26You know, the Mormons, they have this goofy idea that God the Father had Jesus and the
10:32devil are brothers, and God the Father liked Jesus' idea better than Satan's for whatever
10:38reason.
10:39He said, I'm going to go with your idea of brother Jesus instead of brother Satan.
10:43That's just stupid.
10:44This just goes to show you that God is in charge.
10:48He knew the whole time.
10:49He didn't reveal any of the secrets to anybody.
10:53And the whole thing, Satan thinks he's doing some kind of big plan.
10:56He thinks he's messing things up by killing Christ.
10:59He's falling right into God's hands.
11:01It's kind of funny when you think about it, it is to me.
11:07Look at verse 9.
11:09But as it is written, I have not seen nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart
11:15of man the things which God has prepared, but God has revealed them unto us by his Spirit.
11:23For the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11:27So where was this written at?
11:29Keep your finger there and go to Isaiah 64.
11:34Isaiah chapter 64.
11:36Alright, so tonight we're in 1 Corinthians chapter 2.
11:531 Corinthians chapter 2.
11:56And the Bible says,
11:57So again, we see like in chapter 1, where he's saying, I didn't come with great speech.
12:18I didn't come with, you know, you have all these people that do speeches, politicians and
12:22so that they have these great words and it's supposed to sway people because of the words
12:27they say.
12:28He's saying, look, I didn't come with that.
12:30The only thing I came with to you except that Jesus Christ was crucified.
12:36That's all he did when he preached to them.
12:38Nothing else.
12:39Nothing great.
12:40Nothing that a grandstanding.
12:43All he did was preach that Jesus Christ was crucified.
12:46We need to take a knowledge of that.
12:49Again, that it's not all words.
12:52It's the words of the Holy Spirit.
12:54It's not anything that we do when we show somebody the gospel.
12:58It's not our words.
12:59It's not us telling some great story in a great manner and then people get saved.
13:04It's the words of the Holy Spirit which is sitting right in front of you in your lap.
13:08And I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling.
13:14And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom.
13:19But in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.
13:23That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
13:27Again, he's saying, you know, while I was weak and in fear and trembling.
13:32He said, the power of God is what did.
13:36And you know, a lot of times when you are weak and you're trembling and you're scared.
13:41It's the Holy Spirit that takes over.
13:43There's been several times where, you know, I would be, when the first time I'm preaching, I'd be very nervous and scared.
13:51And you could tell when the Holy Spirit just kind of took over.
13:55Not to the point that he's possessing you or anything.
13:59But he just gives you the words that you need to say.
14:03That's happened plenty of times.
14:04And that's what he's telling you.
14:05He's saying, when I was weak and trembling, the Holy Spirit took over.
14:09Not from the enticing words of man's wisdom.
14:12He keeps talking about that.
14:13Not the enticing, but the Holy Spirit does that.
14:18We need to understand that.
14:20Even just as simple as giving somebody the gospel that's unsaved, it's not all words.
14:25It's the words of the Holy Spirit.
14:27Nobody's flesh ever gets saved.
14:29It's their spirit.
14:31So if you go to them with your words of how you want to explain the salvation and that Jesus died on the cross, that's great.
14:39That's great for us to talk about.
14:40But when you're talking to an unsaved person, you need to use this right here.
14:46Romans 3.23.
14:47Romans 6.23.
14:48John 3.16.
14:49All these verses, because these are the words of the Holy Spirit, and that's what pricks people's heart to be saved.
14:56You know, I've heard people say, you know, you'd tell somebody, hey, you're 100% sure if you die today, you'd go to heaven.
15:02They'd say, no, I'm not.
15:03But I'm sure whatever you're going to tell me is nothing that my mother told me or my grandmother or my father or my pastor.
15:09Well, maybe it is.
15:10Maybe it isn't.
15:11Maybe they told you something, but maybe they did not use the words of the Holy Spirit.
15:16That's what gets people saved.
15:17And that's what Paul's trying to tell them.
15:19You've got to understand, Paul was known as what?
15:22Somebody who beat up Christians and put them in jail.
15:26So he's got to show to them, the Corinthians, that he's not that guy anymore.
15:31That he's got the Holy Spirit.
15:33And that he has that power just like they do.
15:35And that's what he's trying to tell them.
15:37And verse 6, how be it we speak wisdom among them that are perfect.
15:43Again, the Bible is using the word perfect.
15:45It's not talking about sinless because we can just compare that to the Bible and know that we've all sinned and come short of the glory of God.
15:52So it's not that we're perfect, but complete.
15:55The book of Job, Job 1, talks about Job being a complete person.
15:59It means he was perfect, not that he was sinless, but that he was what?
16:05Complete.
16:08Among them that are perfect, yet not the wisdom of this world, nor the princes of this world that come to naught.
16:16But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the world unto our glory.
16:25So keep your finger there and go to Mark 4.
16:29Mark chapter 4.
16:45Mark chapter 4.
16:47Mark chapter 4.
16:47Start in verse 9.
17:01And he said to them,
17:02He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
17:06This is Jesus speaking.
17:07And when he was alone, they that were about him, would the twelve ask of him the parable?
17:13And he said to them,
17:14Unto you it is given to known the mystery of the kingdom of God.
17:19But unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables.
17:24That seeing they may see, and not perceive, and hearing they may hear, and not understand.
17:31Lest at any time they should be converted, and their sin should be forgiven them.
17:37So Jesus is clearly telling them, you know, I'm speaking in parables, because it's not for them to understand.
17:44Until they believe who I am.
17:47That's what he's telling them.
17:48He's saying, you understand.
17:50Because he's allowed them to do it.
17:52And it reminds me of a lady one time, who went out soul winning, and she was, I told her about John 3.16,
18:01and she could quote the word to word, verse to verse of John 3.16.
18:07And I said, oh, okay, well that's great.
18:09If you died today, would you go to heaven?
18:11No, I'd go to hell.
18:14And you'd say, hey, what does that mean to you?
18:16Well, it just means you've got to be a good person.
18:19What?
18:20That whosoever believeth?
18:22Where does that come?
18:23Folks, they don't have the Holy Spirit.
18:25They do not understand.
18:26They can read.
18:27They can memorize verses in the Bible.
18:30They can do all this stuff, and they can spew them out to you.
18:33But the Holy Spirit is not showing them.
18:36This book is not like the book of Shakespeare, or any other kind of literature,
18:41where somebody can learn it, and they can memorize it.
18:44If you don't have the Holy Spirit, you will never understand it.
18:47That's what he does.
18:48Go to Romans 16.
18:53And that's what Jesus is trying to tell them.
18:55I'm unlocking the mystery.
18:57The mystery of what?
18:58Before the world was even created,
19:00the mystery that Jesus Christ was going to be the Lamb slain from the foundation of the earth.
19:07Before Genesis 1.1,
19:10Jesus knew he was going to have to do that.
19:14Look at Romans 16, verse 25.
19:18Now to him, that is a power to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ,
19:25according to the revelation of the mystery.
19:27What does revelation mean?
19:28It's to reveal something.
19:30The word manifests is used sometimes.
19:32To reveal, to show the mystery of Jesus Christ,
19:37which was what?
19:38What kept secret since the world began?
19:41Since when?
19:42Since before Genesis 1.1,
19:44it was a secret.
19:46Folks, if you could go back into time to the Old Testament,
19:49those people didn't know why they were sacrificing animals.
19:52They didn't know.
19:53They didn't know why they were taking a lamb every year,
19:56making sure it was perfect,
19:57and why they couldn't take this lamb with a broken leg,
20:00and all this stuff,
20:01and why they were making sure it was perfect,
20:04complete,
20:04the best lamb in the whole group to take,
20:07and then to sacrifice.
20:10They had no idea,
20:11because it was a mystery.
20:13Look at verse 26.
20:15But now is made manifest,
20:18means revealed,
20:20and by the scriptures of the prophets,
20:23according to the commandment of the everlasting God,
20:26made known to all nations for the obedience of faith,
20:30to God only,
20:31wise,
20:32be glory through Jesus Christ forever.
20:34Amen.
20:35So this mystery that we're talking about,
20:37in Corinthians,
20:38go back to 1 Corinthians 2,
20:40is being made manifested.
20:43God ordained it.
20:45So, you know,
20:46I heard people say sometimes,
20:48that Jesus was plan B.
20:50The Jews didn't work out.
20:51No, no, no, no.
20:52Jesus was not plan B.
20:54He was plan A.
20:55This clearly tells us that Jesus Christ was plan A before anything was created,
21:01before this earth was made,
21:03before man,
21:04before dust was spit into and made a man.
21:07Jesus knew that he was going to have to die for the whole world.
21:11That was the whole plan from the get-go.
21:13Verse 8.
21:15Look,
21:16this verse,
21:17I want you to look at this verse clearly.
21:19Which none of the princes of this world,
21:22talking about what?
21:23The princes of this world,
21:24you think about the presidents,
21:26the leaders,
21:26whatever,
21:27knew,
21:29for had they known it,
21:31if they had known what the whole mystery was,
21:33they would not have crucified the glory.
21:36Think about that for a minute.
21:37I've pondered this verse a lot this week.
21:42And I've been thinking about this.
21:43You know,
21:43if Satan knew,
21:45we know that immediately,
21:48Judas Iscariot,
21:49what happened to him?
21:50He took Satan into him when he took the sop.
21:55And Jesus said,
21:56go and do that.
21:57Talking about to betray him.
22:00Folks,
22:00if Satan knew that what he was doing,
22:03when he was part of it,
22:04to put Jesus on the cross,
22:05if he knew that was going to save every person,
22:08all mankind,
22:10he wouldn't have done it.
22:11And that's what's so great,
22:13is that just shows you,
22:15you know,
22:15the Mormons,
22:16they have this goofy idea,
22:18that God the Father,
22:19had Jesus,
22:21and the devil are brothers,
22:22and God the Father liked Jesus' idea better than Satan's,
22:26for whatever reason.
22:27He said,
22:28I'm going to go with your idea of brother Jesus,
22:30instead of brother Satan.
22:32That's just stupid.
22:33This just goes to show you,
22:34that God is in charge.
22:36He knew the whole time.
22:38He didn't reveal any of the secrets to anybody.
22:41And the whole thing,
22:43Satan thinks he's doing some kind of big plan.
22:45He thinks he's messing things up by killing Christ.
22:48He's falling right into God's hands.
22:50It's kind of funny when you think about it,
22:52it is to me.
22:56Look at verse 9.
22:57But as it is written,
22:59I have not seen,
23:02nor ear heard,
23:03neither have entered into the heart of man,

23:10by his Spirit.
23:12For the Spirit searches all things,
23:14yea,
23:15the deep things of God.
23:16So where was this written at?
23:18Keep your finger there,
23:19and go to Isaiah 64.
23:20Isaiah chapter 64.
23:38Isaiah chapter 64.
23:43Starting in verse 4.
23:4564-4.
23:46And the Bible says,
23:49For since the beginning of the world,
23:51men have not heard,
23:53nor perceived by the ear,
23:55neither has the eye seen,
23:57O God beside thee,
23:59what he hath prepared for him
24:00that waited for him.
24:02So nobody knows,
24:03nobody has perceived and said,
24:05Hey, I know what God's got in store for me.
24:07I know what the plan is.
24:08Nobody knew.
24:11Thou meetest him that rejoices
24:13and worketh righteousness,
24:14those that remember thee in thy ways.
24:17Behold, thou art wroth.
24:19For we have sinned,
24:20and in those is continuance,
24:22and we shall be saved.
24:24And here's the most famous verse in verse 6.
24:27But we are all as an unclean thing,
24:30and all our righteousness are filthy rags,
24:34and we do all fade as a leaf,
24:36and our iniquities like the wind
24:37have taken us away.
24:39So I like to use this verse.
24:41I wrote Romans 3.23 up under it,
24:44because when people talk about,
24:46Hey, I'm a pretty good person.
24:47You know, I've done this,
24:48I've done that.
24:49You know, I go to church,
24:50I read the Bible,
24:52and you know,
24:52I'm a pretty good person,
24:53I'm going to heaven.
24:54That's like you taking a rag,
24:56going into your scepter tank,
24:57or the sewer,
24:58cleaning out the walls,
24:59and saying,
25:00Here you go, God.
25:01Or just hand it to your wife,
25:03or hand it to your friend.
25:05They'd punch you in the face,
25:06because they don't want that nastiness.
25:08Well, that's the way God looks at us
25:10when we think our righteousness.
25:12When we think,
25:12Hey, I'm a pretty good person,
25:13I deserve to go to heaven.
25:15It's like taking that rag,
25:16and handing it to God.
25:17It's not our righteousness.
25:19It's the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
25:21Go to Ezekiel 33.
25:28Ezekiel 33.
25:29I told you I've been going through
25:39the chronological of the Bible,
25:41and I just got finished with Ezekiel,
25:44and this verse in Ezekiel 33.
25:47I've read it before,
25:48but sometimes you read stuff over again,
25:51and I listen to it when I'm driving,
25:53and it just comes at you.
25:55You know, people always talk about,
25:57you know,
25:58repenting of their sins,
26:00or, you know,
26:01whatever that,
26:03you know,
26:03the sins they commit.
26:05Maybe, you know,
26:05sometimes you ask people,
26:07Hey, you know,
26:08what have you done?
26:09And they'll say,
26:09Well, I've done a lot more good than bad.
26:11So they think it's like a balancing act,
26:13where they think their good stuff
26:15is going to outweigh their bad.
26:17And a lot of people are doing these works
26:18to try to outweigh the bad.
26:20Well, this verse just destroys that.
26:22Look at Ezekiel 33, verse 11.
26:26Saying to them,
26:27As I live,
26:28said the Lord God,
26:29I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked,
26:31but that the wicked turn from his way and live,
26:35turn ye,
26:36turn ye from your evil ways.
26:39For why will ye die,
26:40O house of Israel?
26:41Therefore,
26:43thou son of man,
26:44saying to the children of thy people,
26:46The righteousness of the righteous
26:48shall not deliver him
26:50in the day of his transgression.
26:52What does that mean?
26:53Just like we saw in Isaiah 64.
26:55Your righteousness will not deliver you
26:58from whatever's going to happen to you.
27:02From your sin.
27:04And for the wickedness of the wicked,
27:06he shall not fall thereby in the day
27:08that he turneth from his wickedness.
27:10Neither shall the righteous be able to live
27:12for his righteousness
27:13in the day that he sinned.
27:15Look at verse 13.
27:16Here's a key verse.
27:17When I shall say to the righteous
27:19that he shall surely live
27:22if he trusts to his own righteousness
27:27and commit iniquity,
27:29all his righteousness
27:31shall not be remembered,
27:33but his iniquity that he has committed
27:35he shall die for.
27:37So what does that mean?
27:38That means if you think you're a good person,
27:40and man, I'm a great person,
27:41I've done a lot of good things in my life,
27:44that you're not going to be remembered for that.
27:46You're going to die in hell for your sins.
27:48And you're going to burn in hell for your sins.
27:50That's what that means.
27:51That God's not going to remember you
27:53about your righteousness.
27:54He's going to remember the iniquity
27:56because we shouldn't be trusting
27:57that word trust
27:59in his own righteousness.
28:01We need to be trusting in Jesus Christ.
28:04Go back to 1 Corinthians 2.
28:06Verse 10
28:11But God hath revealed them unto us
28:13by his Spirit.
28:16For the Spirit searches all things,
28:18yet indeed things of God.
28:20For what man knoweth the things of a man
28:22save the spirit of man which is in him.
28:26So there's no man out there
28:27that knows about God that's unsaved.
28:29That's what he's saying.
28:31He's saying you may know something about a man,
28:33but you don't know the spirit of a man.
28:36Except when you're saved.
28:39Even so the things of God
28:40knoweth no man but the Spirit of God.
28:42So the only thing that you can know
28:43from the things of God
28:44is by having the Spirit of God.
28:48No unsaved people.
28:49They can, again,
28:50they can quote verses left and right,
28:52but no unsaved person
28:54can know the Spirit of God.
28:57They can tell you they do,
28:58but they're lying.
28:59That's what that verse says right there.
29:02Now we have received
29:04not the Spirit of the world,
29:07but the Spirit which is of God,
29:10that we might know the things
29:12that are freely given to us of God.
29:15Verse 13
29:17Which things also we speak,
29:20not in the words which man's wisdom teaches,
29:23but which the Holy Ghost teaches.
29:25Comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
29:29Again, the Bible's hammering the fact
29:32that it's the spiritual things
29:34that you will get only from the Holy Spirit.
29:36These are the things that the Holy Ghost teaches.
29:38Verse 14
29:39But the natural man,
29:41what does that mean?
29:41The unsaved man.
29:42That's what you can think of.
29:43The natural man.
29:44It means that you're a regular old man,
29:46not a spiritual man.
29:47The natural man receiveth not
29:49the things of the Spirit of God.
29:51This means,
29:52this is why that lady could quote you
29:54John 3.16 backwards and forwards
29:56and say it and say,
29:57I don't know what it means.
29:59Because she was a natural man.
30:01She did not know the things of God.
30:04For they are foolishness unto him,
30:07neither can he know them
30:09because they are spiritually discerned.
30:12But,
30:12he that is spiritual judges all things,
30:15yet he himself is judged of no man.
30:18Keep your finger there
30:18and go to John 10.
30:21John 10.
30:27Just went through the book of John,
30:29so this should be kind of fresh on your mind.
30:32But John chapter 10.
30:38I'm sorry,
30:39John 16 first.
30:41And then we're going to go to John 10.
30:43John 16.
30:43Just a little fresher
30:46of what the Holy Spirit does for us.
30:48We take that for granted, folks.
30:50We take for granted
30:51what we get
30:52when we are saved
30:53by the Holy Spirit.
30:55But look at John 16 verse 7.
30:59Nevertheless,
31:00I tell you the truth,
31:01that Jesus,
31:01it is expedient,
31:03means that,
31:03hey,
31:04it's best for me,
31:05it's a good thing for you
31:06for me to go away.
31:08For if I go not away,
31:09the Comforter,
31:10being the Holy Spirit,
31:11will not come unto you.
31:12But if I depart,
31:13I will send him unto you.
31:15So Jesus is clearly saying,
31:16I have to leave
31:17before the Holy Spirit comes.
31:19And when he is come,
31:21he will reprove the world of sin
31:23and of righteousness
31:24and of judgment,
31:26of sin because
31:27they believe not on me,
31:28of righteousness
31:29because I go to my Father
31:31and you see me no more,
31:32of judgment
31:33because the prince of this world is judged.
31:36I yet have many things to say unto you,
31:39but you cannot bear them now.
31:41How be it,
31:41when he,
31:42talking about the Holy Spirit,
31:44the Spirit of truth
31:45is come,
31:47he will guide you
31:48into all truth.
31:50So,
31:51just to let you know,
31:52if it's not truthful,
31:54it's not of the Holy Spirit.
31:56For he shall not speak
31:57of himself.
31:59And that of
32:00just means the source.
32:01Does not mean that
32:02the Holy Spirit
32:03is not going to speak of himself.
32:05He's going to speak
32:06of the Bible.
32:07That's what he's going to do.
32:08The source means
32:09it's not going to come
32:10from himself.
32:11When people say,
32:12yeah,
32:12I prayed that God
32:14would give me this car
32:15or whatever
32:16and God answered my prayer.
32:17Wrong,
32:18my friend.
32:19That's free will.
32:20God did not give you that car.
32:22He may have gave you
32:23the ability to buy that car
32:24or whatever.
32:26God just doesn't do that,
32:27folks.
32:27We have free will.
32:29But whatsoever
32:30he shall hear,
32:32that shall he speak
32:34and whatever he hears
32:34is right here.
32:35Genesis and Revelation.
32:38And he will show you
32:39things to come.
32:41He shall glorify me
32:43for he shall receive of mine
32:45and shall show it unto you.
32:47All things that the Father
32:48hath are mine.
32:49Therefore said I
32:50that he shall take of mine
32:52and shall show it unto you.
32:55Excuse me.
32:56Now go to John 10.
32:58Now go to John 10.
33:00John 10 verse 4.
33:12And when he put it forth,
33:13this is talking about
33:14the good shepherd,
33:15this is Jesus.
33:15And when he put it forth
33:16his own sheep,
33:18he goeth before them
33:19and the sheep follow him
33:21for they know his voice
33:23and a stranger
33:24they will not follow
33:26but will flee from him
33:29for they know not
33:30the voice of a stranger.
33:32Go down to verse 14.
33:34I am the good shepherd
33:36and know my sheep
33:39and am known of mine.
33:42Go to Matthew 7.
33:47These are truths of the Bible
33:49that Jesus knows his own.
33:52And the voice of a stranger,
33:54we should not be following him.
33:55And sometimes you listen,
33:58you know,
33:59sometimes you may hear
33:59a different Bible version.
34:01Folks, to me,
34:02it just sounds like
34:03the voice of a stranger.
34:05You know, I don't know.
34:07That's what it sounds like to me.
34:09It just does not sound real.
34:11Look at Matthew 7 verse 21.
34:14Not everyone that saith unto me,
34:16Lord, Lord,
34:16shall enter into the kingdom of heaven.
34:18Somebody was just quoting to this
34:19me to this verse to me today.
34:22But he that doeth the will of my Father
34:25which is in heaven.
34:26Folks, this has nothing to do
34:27with you being a good person.
34:30This has nothing to do
34:31with you standing before Jesus
34:33when you die
34:34and answering for your sins.
34:36That's what he was trying to say,
34:38that the Satan's going to have to
34:39answer to what they've done.
34:41Folks, that's not going to happen.
34:44Jesus said he casts our sins
34:45behind his back.
34:46The day that you take your last breath
34:48and you enter into heaven,
34:49he's not going to bring up your sins.
34:51What would you say?
34:52What would you say?
34:53There's nothing to say.
34:55You're talking to the man
34:56who created everything
34:57in his own image.
34:59He knows what the right answer is.
35:02What would you say?
35:03There's nothing to say.
35:04But the doing the will of my Father
35:06is what?
35:08So we're going to get to that in a minute.
35:10But many will say to me,
35:11in that day,
35:13I wrote above there,
35:14Revelation 20, 11.
35:15Because in that day,
35:16what day is that?
35:17We understand when somebody
35:19takes their last breath.
35:21Matthew, Luke 16 tells us
35:23that people are either
35:24in heaven or hell
35:24the moment they take
35:26their last breath.
35:27So what day is this?
35:29It's the day
35:29of when the unsaved
35:31will stand before Jesus Christ.
35:33And he's going to open up the books.
35:35And he's going to judge them.
35:38And nobody's going to be found
35:40innocent.
35:42Everybody's going to be found guilty.
35:43Lord, Lord,
35:44have we not prophesied
35:46in thy name
35:47and in thy name
35:48have cast out devils
35:51and in thy name
35:51done many wonderful works.
35:53So you know these people
35:54are unsaved
35:55because they're trusting
35:56in their works.
35:58These are preachers
35:59that think,
35:59hey man,
36:00I'm a great preacher.
36:00I get up here
36:01and preach every Sunday
36:02and Wednesday
36:02and people just love me
36:04and I'm going to heaven
36:05because I'm a preacher.
36:06I had a guy in Texas one time
36:07I said,
36:08you know,
36:08if you die today
36:09would you go to heaven?
36:10He just stood there for a minute.
36:11He said,
36:11I've been a preacher
36:12for 35 years.
36:13I said,
36:13so you think
36:14because you're a preacher
36:14you're going to heaven?
36:15He said,
36:15yeah,
36:16don't you?
36:16I said,
36:17no,
36:17bye bye.
36:20That's what they think.
36:21And then look at verse 23.
36:23And then,
36:24and then
36:26will I profess
36:27unto them
36:28I never knew you.
36:31Now,
36:31it's funny,
36:31people use this verse
36:33and say,
36:33hey,
36:33you can lose your salvation
36:34but that's not what it's saying.
36:36It's just the opposite.
36:38If Jesus never knew you,
36:40that means he never knew you.
36:42He's not saying,
36:43I used to know you
36:44and now I don't know you anymore.
36:46Because that's what it said in John.
36:48Because the voice of the stranger,
36:51when Jesus knows you,
36:52and how does he know you?
36:53When you believe on him.
36:55I go to John 6 real quick.
36:58John 6 is,
36:59I wrote that above here,
37:00John 6, 38.
37:02Because it says the will,
37:04people hear that word will
37:06and they think,
37:07what's the will of God?
37:08Is it me doing the right thing?
37:10Keeping the commandments?
37:11What is that?
37:12Well,
37:12John 6 tells us.
37:15Excuse me.
37:16John 6,
37:18verse 38.
37:20I came down from heaven
37:21not to do my own will,
37:23but the will of him that sent me.
37:25And this is the Father's will
37:27which hath sent me,
37:28that all which he hath given me
37:30I should lose nothing,
37:31but should raise it up
37:33at the last day.
37:34And verse 40 is a key verse right here.
37:36And this is the will of him
37:37that sent me.
37:38Talking about God the Father.
37:39That everyone that seeth the Son
37:42and believe on him.
37:47So what's to be saved?
37:49To believe on Jesus
37:50may have everlasting life.
37:52So he's saying,
37:53here's the will of the Father.
37:55That if you see the Son,
37:57you believe on the Son,
37:58that you'll have everlasting life.
38:00And I will raise them up
38:02at the last day.
38:03What is that?
38:03That's the second coming.
38:05That's the resurrection.
38:07So it's not the will
38:09as in doing something
38:10to get something.
38:12The will of God is what?
38:14Believing on Jesus
38:15and his righteousness.
38:16It's very simple, folks.
38:17God makes it easy enough
38:19that anybody can understand it.
38:21Go to 1 Corinthians 2.
38:24Verse 15.
38:27But he that is spiritual
38:28judges all things.
38:31But he himself is judge of no man.
38:33So the Bible is teaching us here
38:35that if you're spiritual,
38:37you're walking in the Spirit.
38:38You're trying to do everything right.
38:39Not being perfect.
38:40Not sinless.
38:41That's not what we're talking about.
38:43You're coming to church.
38:45You're reading your Bible.
38:46You're praying.
38:46You're trying to do everything right.
38:48You're trying to do what you can.
38:50That no man is going to judge you.
38:52Because you're judging yourself.
38:54You're constantly making
38:55an evaluation on yourself.
38:56Saying,
38:57Hey, am I doing everything right?
38:59God, is there anything in my life
39:01that I need to fix?
39:02You're judging yourself.
39:04So no man has to judge you.
39:05That's what it's saying.
39:07And then the last verse.
39:08For who hath known the mind of the Lord?
39:10That he may instruct him.
39:12But we have the mind of Christ.
39:14Folks, here's the mind of Christ right here.
39:17We don't have to go find
39:18some kind of archaeological dig
39:20or anything and try to find it.
39:22We have it right here.
39:23And it's the 66 books
39:24of the King James Bible.
39:26This is the mind of Christ.
39:28We don't have to do any digging.
39:29We don't have to find anything.
39:31We don't have to go find books.
39:33We have the book right here.
39:34Let's bow our heads
39:35and have a word of prayer.
